I recently made the decision to start replacing the low-quality Lowe Depot tools in my tool collection with more durable ones, and I ultimately chose Knipex. I have already switched over a few tools, and I am quite pleased with the quality and execution of their products. When closed, the teeth are tightly shut, and the two sides have no side play. Additionally, I like the comfort grip handles over the standard rubber coated since they are more comfortable for my hands to use and better fit my hands. I also appreciate that when utilizing them, the length is fixed in at the required opening and doesn't slide back up. Prior adjustable pliers I had tried, even those that "locked," would invariably revert to a smaller aperture while in use rather than preventing them from going larger. These become locked in and are unable to move up or down. I can envision using these pliers for many years to come when all of that is added to the tool steel utilized in the pliers themselves.

My go-to pliers for adjusting tie rods. My shop performs a lot of alignments, thus I always grab these. I'll confess that I have a smaller hand, but these still fit perfectly. These are ideal since they are compact and fit in small areas. For the past three years, these have been used every day of every week without any issues. Even after all the abuse, they continued to function flawlessly; the only drawback was that the hand grips had worn out, which was logical given the oil saturation and general wear and tear. Actually, the teeth still had a terrific bite. I have a set of these three pliers, but I only really use the GV8s on a daily basis.Why do I caution buyers? Irwin offers two types of the GV8, one of which is, in my opinion, of poorer quality. Some come with two silver spots on either side of the locking mechanism, if you pay attention. Steer clear of those. I asked a customer in my business if he had seen my pair lying about, and he actually offered me his pair. I loathed the way they felt, and the locking mechanism was frequently broken. They are genuinely shaped differently. More distance separates the grips.

I spent probably many hours trying to remove an extremely jammed oil filter that looked like it had been installed by the Hulk.Initially, I was going to give this wrench a one-star rating because all it did was create holes in the filter and chip away at it with its teeth. Even the chain wrench, which I bought and tried to use, was ineffective.The nasty "screw driver into the filter" approach was my final resort, but even that didn't work; it just made more cuts in the filter.I then used this wrench WHILE turning the screwdriver for double leverage one last time, and IT FINALLY WORKED! You have no clue how relieved I was to finally remove that bothersome filter!Another issue with this wrench is that you need to make sure you have enough space to spin it in the desired position due to its big size, which can be very challenging.Because TEKTON stands behind their products, I do like the firm.

I admit that I have a preference for Knipex tools, but it may just be because I value quality in general. Regarding imported instruments like Knipex and Wera, I've frequently heard and read that we are "paying for the import tariffs." While this may be partially accurate, I don't agree with it. I have numerous adjustable pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, ratchets, etc., made by this and many other manufacturers, in both the same and various sizes. Knipex has held up and worked the best for me out of all of those. In the same bag as my 10" version of these, I had Milwaukee

I bought these since they were $5 for a pair of generic Channellock pliers made in the US. Any day of the week, twice on Sunday, I'll take it. I have two sets of 909s on which I crimped countless butt connectors when I was performing police conversions. If anything happened to the first pair, I would have been stranded at work, so I got a second pair. However, both partnerships are still going strong. Buddy broke one of their jaws off, and it was immediately replaced. These 526 pliers aren't the greatest I've ever owned, but I've had much worse. These gentlemen are strong, with a sturdy slipjoint and nice jaw alignment. Along with my knives, these pair went inside my workbag for the restaurant. I've been able to fix just about anything at work with the help of these pliers and my bitdriver, from nozzles in the dishwasher coming loose to wobbly hinges on the salad bar. A seasoned business, Channellock continues to make a high-quality, reasonably priced product right here in the United States. Since they are so inexpensive, I might simply get one or two more.
