If I could bubble wrap my five year old son I would, but that's not realistic. He's not the kind that you wonder "if" he'll visit the ER, but "when." Hence the necessity for some protective gear. I chose the set by MINISports for the following reasons: it's designed to fit through age 7, can be used for a handful of sports, is made of hard plastic, and is comfortable to wear due to the ventilated liner and foam. My son loves his suit of armor and I feel comforted knowing he's well protected. Win-win!

Great product,My little guy have a cool inline skate and he is just starting to learn to skate. I got these mostly for the worst spills as he is learning. Suddenly he thinks he is an invinsible super hero and loves to bang and clang them all over the house on our hard wood floors. I love them and for the cost, I'm getting lots of use out of them.highly recommended it!

Love it, I have an electric skateboard that has the potential to go 25mph! I get scared going 10mph on it sono go about 8-9 and when I fall I needed wrist protecting, so I bought these before I ever tried the thing, and ever since, I’ve fallen twice. Wearing these. I used them to slide a bit on my hands rather than my body , and it was like falling with such grace, I fell and instantly thought “my knuckles are gonna screwed up if my wrist lands wrong” and I did that open your hand and bend them thing, and my wrists just floated as that hard plastic took the scraping my hands would’ve endured, and amazingly, no hand injuries !
Just dirty scuffed up shoes and scraped knee.
Amazing wrist guards;

the fit on the last part of the wrist gaurd where it wraps around the arm is smaller than the fit for the wrist and hands but overall it is fine. They do a good job of keeping your hands nad wrists in positions that prevent injury. I feel recently while doing my 27/5 after changing out my toe stops and tripping over one >.< and the only issue I walked away with was a slight bruise where the edge of the wrist gaurd meets my arm. I think had I not had these it would have been much worse. I really like how free range my hands and wrist motions are with these on compared to the ones I borrowed that were the glove type.

I use these while figure skating and they work. I’ve fallen forward, backward, and sideways and have yet to injure myself while wearing these.
I’ve fractured my wrist twice while skating from falling backwards. Other wrist guards gave protection while falling forward but offered nothing on the back to the wrist to prevent injury due to my arm slamming against the ice from a backwards fall.
These guards offer the perfect amount of protection without being overly bulky. I can perform jumps, spins, etc. just fine and often forget I am wearing wrist guards.

I purchased the Wrist guards at the same time I bought a Onewheel. I'm very satisfied. I had read in the reviews that they ran a little small so I grabbed the Large size. I'm glad I did. I'm 5'9 with medium sized hands and the Large fits perfectly.
I've been using them for over a month and am extremely happy with the purchase. They are very well made (not cheap at all) and very durable. All the material and stitching is solid. Also, I really like the design of the splints which protect the wrist and palm. The palm sprint is slightly curved which makes me feel very secure. If I go down, I'm going to be very happy I'm wearing these.
In regards to the "easy slip on and off", this is true. Essentially, you will need to loosen up the straps fully and then pull them on and off. Tighten them up again and boom - off ya go. Pretty simple. 5 Star product for the price and quality. No cons.

When I ordered these, I couldn't find any info about sizing on Amazon. I looked at the Triple 8 website and found just a little info. Reviews were not helpful because terms like "small" and "large" are relative especially if you don't know if the reviewer is a child or an adult or a male or a female. Ultimately, I measured my hands according the the website sizing info and ordered one size larger. I received the guards and they barely fit. They were too small; I could barely squeeze my hands into them. Ultimately I kept them though. They seem to have stretched out a little bit, and I've lost weight, so my hands are smaller. They're still a little snug but I can use them. They seem to be well-made which is why I give the product 4 stars. If I were you, I would call the company and consult with them about sizing before ordering this item.

These have saved me a few times. I knew these would be the most important tool in my self protection ensemble. My first night riding my electric unicycle my pedal hit the side of speed bump I was going around and I toppled to the ground. I cut one of my right fingers on the pavement and ripped the left elbow of my jacket, but, I didn't break my wrists.
I wear leather gloves when I ride now, under my wrist guards. I never use my EUC without my wrist guards.
They are getting a little frayed along their hemlines after eight months of use. I will do some hand sewing to repair the seems that are unraveling. . . but for twenty bucks, they've saved me at least twice and I've owned them for nine months, that's not bad.

I wore these for several days of dirt bike trail riding in Louisiana and Arkansas. I like them a lot. They're tough, with good joint protection. They have leather across the big knuckles, and in other places where you'd want it, and not where you don't want it. The stretchy elastic areas make for a good fit and ventilation. I'm 245 LB and have extra-giant-sized hands with thick fingers. The XL size formed to fit nicely, especially after the first day. They're snug, like they should be for joint protection. The splint does poke out into the space that would otherwise be occupied by handlebar grip, at least an inch worth. To adapt to that, I turned my hands so the index fingers were still wrapped around the grips, but my pinkie fingers are not so much. (That also caused me to keep my elbows raised, like you should for trail riding.) After a day of getting used to that, it worked fine. I didn't have trouble keeping a grip on the bars. I did have a little trouble with precise throttle control, but it got easier. I learned to treat the splint as part of my hand. Then I could let my weight ride on it, which was comfortable, at those times when I would have put weight on my palm instead, like on a hard landing. That hand position turns the splint further toward the outside. I felt that was a good position for catching my weight if I went down.
For trail riding I might have gotten the full-fingered version of these instead, since I don't have brush guards on my bike. The fingers are longer than most other open-finger gloves, which field weird at first, but it worked well. Like others have said, the glove's thumb is set back toward the wrist (further from the other finger holes) a little too far for a 100% natural fit on my hand. It felt weird but it didn't cause any trouble at all.

Okay, if you skate like I do, get these. I grew up never ever wearing protective equipment. ( Yea the "70's ! )
But now being in my mid 50's I am quite breakable now. >:'(
This has saved my wrists numerous times. I bought these after taking a really bad fall and busting up my wrist and hand. The only thing that you should know aside from getting these is that your hands will sweat a lot! So make sure you let them air out completely after wearing. Spinkling in baking soda, spraying with lysol anything is better than leaving them to grow and die in your gear bag. Take care of your equipment and your equipment will help take care of you.
