We unplugged the water softener because it was destroying the healthy bacteria in our well water and filling the septic tank too quickly. Since we now have a deep well, the water is often of good quality. No chlorine and not as harsh as city water. I did, however, eventually come to the conclusion that it was damaging to my skin and my hair. My skin was dry and sensitive, and my hair was frizzy, brittle, and falling out much more than before. Because the softened water was so much better, I looked for alternatives. I found this and figured that, given the price, I wouldn't lose much money if it didn't function as promised. Unexpectedly, it truly does work! I wash my hair less frequently and use less conditioner. Even in heavier humidity, it doesn't get as frizzy. When I got out of a hot shower, my skin would feel sticky and tight, and if I didn't apply lotion all the time, it would be so dry and itchy that it drove me insane. Since using this product, I haven't needed to apply lotion, and my skin feels smoother to the touch and wrinkles are much less obvious. It resembles a spa treatment! I'll admit that I tend to be quite skeptical of anything that seems to be a gimmick, and I'm also generally pessimistic, but I can see the difference, so I'm very pleased with this product.

Look, I did A LOT of research to find an excellent water filter before deciding on this one. I can only say that after taking ONE shower, I could immediately tell a difference as soon as I began to dry off. I didn't even want to put lotion on my skin since it felt so smooth and my hair was so well-combed. All I have to say is that this stuff actually works, and although I'm picky about the water I drink (filtered and fluoridation-free), we should be concerned about the water we use to bathe in as we undoubtedly observe some of it—probably a lot—of it.We don't know the results of the water tests for fluoride, chlorine, etc., but after doing some research, we also don't know whether any of the filters are 100% effective.My assessment is that it was simple to install, that it comes with an extra filter, that IT WORKS, and that it isn't very expensive.I used this to attach a $15 Delta shower head from Home Depot, and I just had the finest shower of my life.p.s. My old shower head had a lot of hard water buildup visible in the shot I took. My shower has a lot of hard water residue that is very difficult to remove. The new water softener I installed is displayed in the video. The water already feels softer, and it looks amazing! The soap takes a little longer to rinse off, so you can notice. With our water from the Pacific Northwest, it does make a difference. I only had a positive shopping experience with my first purchase. Replacement filters that were purchased afterwards did not perform as effectively as the initial one. The third one I got only provided me with better water for a few days to a week. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I've switched to other brands since then.When we moved to the city from the country, where we had a water softener, the water was hard and severely chlorinated. Three years later, having extremely dry skin and hair has become the new norm. My naturally curly hair has really become very straight and begun to fall out. I too have acne outbreaks all the time. When it came time to replace the filter on my last shower head filter, which I bought through Amazon for around $30 (different brand), the entire line had vanished from the site. My hair was becoming heavy and oily after showers (Florida water for you! ), so I was looking for a new filter. I would admit that I didn't think installing it was particularly easy. Although I didn't need any tools, I had trouble assembling one piece that resembles a car hitch since I couldn't figure out where it belonged. I was able to figure it out despite the unclear directions. When everything was set up and installed, I gave it a go, and I was blown away by how much it resembled rain. The drought in California has caused the water providers to add additional Chloramines, which are Ammonia and Chlorine together, to the water, therefore I might switch to the HO filter.Even though Sprite says it contains some chloramines, the water still contains free chlorine from breakdown as well as other contaminants and silt. As a result, my hairdresser commented that my hair is softer even though I haven't informed her what I did.After the Sprite KDF filter, I might add a carbon filter or just use HO. The average combined chlorine level in this area is 2.2 ppm, which is a little too high in my opinion. I use R/O water for drinking, team, coffee, and the fish tank in addition to boiling (not steaming) it. In the fish tank, I won't use any chemicals. Anyhow, Sprite functions well. Others have criticized Home Depot for offering superior ones. They do not live as long as they did a few years ago, but 6 months is the maximum life, not the lowest, and with the water quality deteriorating, the filters are bound to last less time. I cannot attest for that because I bought my first one at Home Depot, but I bought it when I saw it here online.

Greetings, Shower Shoppers!I recently moved and was attempting to replace my cherished TerraSpa shower filter from years ago in order to rid my life of the unsavory chlorine (I use a PUR filter on my drinking water). The hunt was restarted after learning that TerraSpa was no longer operating. I got both Aquabliss and Aquasana and placed one in each bathroom shower after reading a lot of reviews and ratings (both on and off of Amazon) for each. Then I compared them. Here is what I discovered based on my interests and personal experience.OUR UNITSAquasana is visually substantial and weighs close to 3 pounds. The Aquabliss weighs about 1.6 pounds, is far shorter, and is less noticeable. Both of them employ excellent multi-stage filtration, but the KDF-55 serves as their actual workhorse. Aquasana uses coconut carbon as their additional "secret sauce," while Aquabliss adds calcium sulfite and activated carbon on top of that.INSTALLATIONLike all shower attachments, they both require Teflon tape, which is quite simple to apply to all threads. For the Aquabliss, a wrench is not necessary because it manually tightens. For the Aquasana, a wrench IS required. Both of them will require a flush to get rid of the extra carbon (the gunky black stuff). Any filter of this type should be flushed for around 2 minutes on cold, followed by at least 2 minutes on hot, and I would recommend doing the shut off/turn on with the water at least three times as the first rush of water needs to be clear before usage.The Aquabliss allows you to use any shower head you desire because of its straightforward construction, which I felt to be a significant improvement in design. Contrarily, the Aquasana has a built-in shower head that, while beautiful and adjustable, cannot be exchanged. I attempted to use my old Moen shower head with the Aquasana, but the setup isn't compatible. That can be a deal breaker right away if this is important to you.EFFECTIVENESSThey both reduce chlorine smells similarly, but due of my incredibly sensitive nose, I thought the Aquabliss smelled fainter and cleaner. After that, I had a shower with both, using the same shampoos and soaps at the same temperatures as before. I wasn't even going to waste my time (or yours) going there because, as we should all know by this point, shower filters don't really respond well to pool chlorine testing and strip tests.So, this is what I chose. Since the materials and feelings are of the highest caliber and the Aquabliss smells nicer to me, the decision ultimately boils down to price, ease of installation, and shower head variety. At $52, Aquasana replacement filters are more expensive than the original unit. Additionally, you are replacing pretty much the WHOLE unit base. Aquabliss only costs $15, and all that needs to be replaced is the interior filter.At least for my needs, Aquabliss comes out on top.
