Best Shower Mirrors in 2020

ToiletTree Products Deluxe Larger Fogless Shower Shaving Mirror with Squeegee, Large, Black Review:

Let me say I've used this mirror for OVER 2 YEARS now. And have gone through 2 of them and am now on my 3rd. Clearly I like them so I'll tell you what I do and don't like about them.

Positives:
+ Definitely FOGLESS, this design is the only way to truly get a fogless mirror in the shower.
+ Securely attaches to the wall
+ Tilt function
+ Price, while $25 isn't exactly a giveaway, nothing else competes at this pricepoint

Negatives:
- It is all plastic, not a bad negative, but don't expect solid construction and plan on replacing it (see below)
- Adhesive is difficult to remove. If you ever need to move, you will need to remove the silicone which is tough to remove and if renting could result in damage fees
- The tilt function eventually gets "weak" and requires purchasing a new unit or else the mirror will fall into the most downward facing position when full

Conclusion:
This is a great mirror as long as you understand the removal process requires some work. A razor blade and some goo-gone will NOT do it. Also wish the construction of the tilt mechanism was more solid construction instead of plastic that wears out in a few months causing the mirror to be stuck in the downward position. All-in-all though, for $25 I don't mind buying a new one about every year. Don't expect this to be one of those products that lasts a lifetime, and if you do remove it, expect a hassle. I give it 4 stars because it truly is fogless, the price is right, but the product needs to be more durable for a 5-star review.

Note: keep in mind I have been using this product for years, unlike other reviewers who have been using it for a couple weeks. Sure I would've given it 5-stars then as well, not knowing how it would break and be hard to remove. So I hope this helps give you the full picture!

UPDATED REVIEW: SELLER UPDATED THEIR PRODUCT! The product was updated in that the entire back side is now a "sticker" that you peel off and stick to the wall, instead of the silicone adhesive that was previously used. This is good for being easier to remove from the wall, but worse in that the sticker isn't re-usable vs the old style you could just apply more silicone adhesive.

ReflectXL Shower Mirror - Made in USA from US and Imported Parts - Shatterproof - Easily Eliminate Fog and Shadows for a Clear Fogless Reflection (Unclad) Review:

It's too early to comment on longevity, so I'll follow up in a few months. As for today, here's my review: This is a very solid and thick plastic mirror with very clear image quality. I bought the cladded version (more expensive) in order to get many years (hopefully) of use. The choice of rope or hooks (2) is nice. Rope wouldn't work in my case since hanging it from the shower head uses only a few inches of rope and I would have to unwrap it each time to wet the mirror. I decided to mount a hook on the wall opposite the sliding shower doors. We have a light directly above the shower, so there's plenty of light to shave with. After completing my shower, I lift the mirror off it's hook to quickly wet the back and front. I then hang it back up and use the dry washcloth to wipe the mirror. Then I turn the shower water off. I use a bar of soap to lather up my face (works as good as shaving cream), and grab my razor. For some reason, I can shave my entire face without the razor clogging. It's great. When I'm done shaving (takes about 2 to 3 minutes tops), I turn the water back on and rinse my face and razor thoroughly.

Additional Comments: Removing the plastic mirror film was a little difficult. I used my fingernail in order to get the corner started. After it was removed there is a sharp lip all around the front edge of the mirror. Probably not sharp enough to cut yourself but the company needs to address this sharp edge. The cladded version I bought was "wet steel". I did not expect it to be a picture of water droplets with a company logo in the corner. As long as it protects the mirror from de-silvering and makes it last longer, I'm happy.

The company could make the plastic protection film a little easier to remove. Maybe a paper tab under the film on one corner during production would help.

The XL size is perfect for shaving. Anything smaller would be a drawback.

While you could probably rig up a dollar-store plastic mirror to work in the shower, the quality and mounting features of this one are worth the extra money in my opinion.

Umbra, White Flex Shower Caddy Review:

I just put up the caddy yesterday and so far I love it. The size is perfect for holding everything we need. For a shower caddy it looks pretty nice as well. It seems to be well made and designed well. I find that the silicone straps are genius because it allows some room for bigger bottles. There are four suction cups that came with it and so far they hold really well. The suction cups aren't very crucial for the caddy staying up because I have a shower head that curves up and not down (see pic) but they are good to have so it doesn't shift back and forth. I have smooth tile and I cleaned it well before putting it up so I don't anticipate any issues with the suction. The suction cups attach to the back in a way that allows you to adjust their placement; this is really smart so you can avoid the tile lines and get a really good suction.
I had hoped to not pay $20 for a caddy but if this continues to work well and lasts then I'm okay with it. Previously I had a metal caddy in the corner but it eventually rusted and I didn't want to deal with that again. I will post an update if I run into any issues.

Shatterproof Fogless Shower Mirror For Shaving with Razor Holder and Superior Sticky Suction-Cup, Antifog via Heat Transfer, 8" Diameter Review:

So my ex girlfriend has been calling me ugly and fat for years. The cheap shower mirror she bought me busted so I went to amazon and bought this one. I installed this bad boy into my shower and couldn’t believe the Angel staring back at me. My Caribbean blue eyes were amazed at what they were seeing. I called my dump truck girlfriend and told her 10’s don’t date 3’s unless you bring two friends. She got mad and I took my shower mirror and moved to NYC and became a model. I also started dating Victoria Secret model(s) on the regular. I owe it all to the shower mirror!

HoneyBull Shower Mirror for Shaving Fogless with Suction, Razor Holder & Swivel Review:

I have had several shower mirrors in the past. The 1st was one that hooked into the shower discharge. This was a mess as it was always growing mold and mildew and you were limited to placement. The second one you had to fill with hot water each time, so same issue with mold and mildew, but at least you could place away from the showerhead. Eventually, the suction cups rotted away. This one has some special coating that resists fogging and it can be renewed by splashing with a little shampoo and then water. I haven't had to do that yet, so we'll see how that works later. The suction cup is large and grips very well. The only downside is its depth, so it sticks away from the wall about 3" or so.

ToiletTree Products Deluxe LED Fogless Shower Mirror with Squeegee, 1.45 Ounce Review:

I have been tirelessly looking for a shower mirror that actually doesn’t fog up, doesn’t require drilling in my shower tile, has sufficient surface area and is aesthetically appealing. Well, when I came across this one, I finally found a perfect fit!

Let me break it down on why the ToiletTree Deluxe Shower Mirror is a great buy (based on my experience with other mirrors):

Doesn’t Fog:
All mirrors intended for the shower claim they don’t fog but news flash, many of them do! You can spend a ridiculous amount on special mirrors with elaborate coating but this mirror found a simple and very effective solution to this problem. There is a water reservoir in the back of the mirror and all you have to do is fill it with the same temperature water you’re showering with; the mirror easily glides out for removal (to fill it up with water) and it is easy to place back in the base resulting in a no fuss/hassle user experience.

Easy/Mess Free Wall Application:
I realized most mirrors of this size and weight don’t work well with suction cups. I have tried them before and regardless of how well I prep the surface, they always end up falling. There are options that allow you to drill holes in your shower tile but lets face it, for most that is too messy, complicated, and they don’t want to do something that leaves permanent holes and/or damage on the tile. So whats the solution? Silicone glue! ToiletTree includes more than enough silicone glue to apply this mirror safety and securely to your shower wall without it falling off in a few days (or minutes in some cases). I have had my mirror for about 7 months now and it hasn’t even shifted, let alone fall. PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to follow the simple instructions and prep the surface properly. Prep is easy, just use an alcohol wipe (99% alcohol works best) to clean the area you are applying the mirror to and dry it off (preferably with something that doesn’t leave lint behind, I used a microfiber cloth). Be patient and allow the the mirror base to be mounted for the required time before adding the mirror (I believe you leave it applied for 24 hours but as noted, I installed it 7 months ago and don’t remember 100%). The process is simple, easy to follow, and will ensure your mirror last securely for your enjoyment.

Mirror Has Big Surface Area and a Swivel Neck:
When you buy a shower mirror, your intent is for it to simplify your life; you don’t want to hunch over or stand in one isolated position to use the mirror. ToiletTree solves this problem by giving you ample surface area on the mirror to work with as well as an adjustable neck so you can angle it to your preferred position (vertical angle changes not horizontal)—this helps when there are multiple users of different height.

Aesthetics:
This mirror has a simple modern look to it and it comes in a couple of different color options to fit your space and style. It is something that you’re mounting in your shower and will look at everyday (depending on your shower routine) so besides functionality, it’s nice to enjoy the look of as well. The LEDs have practical application but it also gives it the added “cool” factor which is always nice.

Other Small Touchers That Add Big Value:
There are some additional touches that are worth mentioning that really make this mirror not only a great buy but a great value as well. There are the LEDs that border the mirror, it isn’t going to illuminate a room but it will help highlight hard to see areas. The flat surface under the mirror is a nice touch because it allows you to place your razor, toothbrush, etc there. Finally there is the built-in squeegee that glides out to help clear your mirror of water that splashes on during your shower.

If you are considering a shower mirror, definitely give this one a shot. It is backed by Amazon’s customer service policy and ToilerTree themselves have great customer service that offers support in a very quick manner. I use this mirror daily because I like to shave and brush in the shower as well. In fact, I recently learned that the ideal atmosphere for shaving is in a steamy atmosphere because it opens up your pours and allows for a smooth, pain free shave; so it’s not only more convenient, its better for you too!

Deluxe Shave Well Shower Mirror for shaving fogless - Made in the USA - 33% larger than the Original Shave Well fogless Shower Mirror Review:

I am upgrading my review of this product based upon the excellent customer service that this company provides. Using the instructions below that I copied and pasted from the email I received, I now can appreciate the quality of this mirror. I have never experienced a company that has this level of excellence.

With your purchase of the Deluxe Shave Well Mirror the most important thing to us is that you are delighted with your purchase decision. Quite frankly, we will not be satisfied until you are…

From your comments there are a couple of suggestions I can make that may enhance your user experience:

1. Given your comments about the mirror fogging, please allow me an opportunity to explain how the mirror functionally works.

* Most houses are kept in a temperature range of 70-75 degrees.
* The average shower water temperature is 107.5 degrees.
* Fog on a mirror is simply condensation. The air in the bathroom is heated by the shower and becomes saturated with moisture.
* When this saturated moist hot air comes in contact with the shower shave mirror (which is still at normal room temperature roughly 30 degrees less), the moisture comes out of the air and condensates on the shower shave mirror surface.
* When you hold your Shave Well mirror under the shower stream for a few seconds, the acrylic mirror will warm up allowing for the temperature of the moist air and the mirror itself to equalize.
* Once you have held the mirror in the shower spray to equalize the temperature of your shower and the mirror, there can't/won't be any fog/condensation.

All of that being said, the mirror works on basic science. The best practical example I can offer is the comparison of a cup of hot coffee and a glass of ice cold soda. If you set them side by side, the cold glass of soda over time will be covered in condensation and the cup of coffee will be warm and dry. As said above, moisture will condensate on the cooler surface. Bringing this example back to your mirror, if your mirror is still fogging after you warm it up under the shower spray then the only answer I can offer is that it remains cooler than the temperature of the warm moist shower. Since the mirror is rather thin acrylic, it should warm up in the few seconds you have been holding it in the warm water of the shower spray.

Some additional thoughts that remain would be

a.) If the mirror hung so high that there is a direct flow of cool air over the shower curtain/door or whether an air conditioning vent is blowing toward it. If this is the case, I am happy to send you a new hook so that you can reposition the mirror.

b.) Research conducted by Gillette has shown that dry facial hair requires the same force to cut as copper wire of an equal diameter. After 3 minutes in the shower, hair has lost 70% of its tensile strength. As such, shaving toward the end of your shower is best on your face…and your mirror. Why? The wall of your shower is cooler than your recently warmed mirror. The later in your shower that you shave…the warmer the wall…the longer the mirror will remain warm…the longer the mirror will remain fog-free. Try it! I am sure you will see a big difference.

c.) Make sure you are turning both the front and back of the mirror under the shower water spray when you are equalizing it. This will help in “warming it up” to equalize the temperature.

2.) Regarding the “windshield” comments, try to clean your mirror with toothpaste. While this will not eliminate the water droplets on the mirror (which dry and make water spots), from personal experience I can tell you that once cleaned with toothpaste, the water "sheets" off the mirror and you are left with fewer water droplets on the surface. Simply wet the mirror, put a pea size amount of toothpaste on the mirror surface, wet the pea sized blob of toothpaste (note the emphasis on keeping it all wet…), rub it around a bit and rinse it off well. This cleaning will take care of the water droplet issue for a week or two and your mirror will look like new.

As noted on the instruction sheet that comes in the mirror carton:

What should I use to clean my mirror?
Toothpaste works the best to remove water spots. Simply rub it on and rinse it off. Washing the mirror with toothpaste will virtually eliminate any residual water droplets from the surface of the mirror.

The Shave Well Company Fog-Free Shower Mirror Review:

Ok so ... at first I wasn't too thrilled with the mirror and actually wrote a review here reflecting my dissatisfaction. But within about an hour, I received a nicely worded email from the manufacturer offering insight to exactly how the technology in the mirrors construction, makes it truly fogless. We had it positioned in the shower too high on the wall (have kids so ... glass and water + kids = not good).

I've posted this info below but I gotta say .... any company that is that willing to stand behind their product and offer such personal customer service is a 100% winner in my book. If only all online retailers could be this way. It's nice to know they care enough to respond personally. Buy the mirror ... it's affordable and does what it says. Enjoy! :)

From the email I received .......

If I may, please allow me the opportunity to share how the mirror works in an attempt to help alleviate the fogging issues you mentioned in your review.

Most houses are kept in a temperature range of 70-75 degrees.
The average shower water temperature is 107.5 degrees.
Fog on a mirror is simply condensation. The air in the bathroom is heated by the shower and becomes saturated with moisture.
When this saturated moist hot air comes in contact with the shower shave mirror (which is still at normal room temperature roughly 30 degrees less), the moisture comes out of the air and condensates on the shower shave mirror surface.
When you hold you Shave Well mirror under the shower stream for a few seconds, the acrylic mirror will warm up allowing for the temperature of the moist air and the mirror itself to equalize.
Once you have held the mirror in the shower spray to equalize the temperature of you shower and the mirror, there can't/won't be any fog/condensation.

All of that being said, the mirror works on basic science. If your mirror is still fogging then the only answer I can give you is that it remains cooler than the temperature of the shower. Since the mirror is rather thin acrylic, it should warm up in the few seconds you have been holding it in the warm water of the shower spray.

Some additional thoughts that remain would be

a.) Whether or not you have a greatly reduced flow shower head. If you do, it may take longer for enough warm water to equalize the temperature of the mirror.

b.) If the mirror hung so high that there is a direct flow of cool air over the shower curtain/door or whether an air conditioning vent is blowing toward it. If this is the case, I am happy to send you a new hook so that you can reposition the mirror.

c.) One additional suggestion would be to make sure you are turning both the front and back of the mirror under the shower water spray when you are equalizing it. This will help in "warming it up" to equalize the temperature.

Finally, regarding the issue of the size of the Shave Well mirror, it was designed to be removable from the wall to truly address the issue of fog by "warming up" the mirror under the shower. Given that the mirror will be removed from the hook before you shave, many users choose to hold the mirror while shaving. The 6" X 4" size fits well in a users hand as well as provides a complete reflection of the entire face while shaving.

To avoid any confusion, under the Product Description section of the amazon.com listing is the size of the item is shown: "The Shave Well Company fog free shower shave mirror measures 4" wide, 6" tall and is 1/8" thick. The base of the adhesive hook (the part that sticks to the wall) measures 1" wide and 1 1/2" tall."

Mirrorvana Fogless Shower Mirror for Fog Free Shaving with Lock Suction-Cup, Shatterproof and Portable, 6.3 x 6.3 Inch Review:

Having been shaving in the shower for the past 25 years I have had many fogless mirrors in my lifetime. With all honesty, this Mirror is by far the best model that I have ever had! Firstly, this mirror is truly a fogless mirror, unlike every previous 'fogless' mirror that I have owned this mirror actually is fogless. The mirror is very clear, it does exactly what it should do, which is to reflect a high-quality image of the subject using it. With every previous 'fogless' mirror that I have owned the quality of the mirror was always very low, the image reflected back was either wavy, dark or scratched so bad that I could not see myself. Additionally, all of my previous mirrors would fog up immediately upon trying to use them, trying to clean them only made them worse. I found myself having to purchase a new fogless mirror at least once a year. Secondly, this mirror is fully adjustable which enables me to move the mirror without having to remove the suction cup from the area where I have secured the base. The ability to adjust the mirror is very helpful, especially with multiple users. I have been using the mirror for over 6 months and I am very happy with my purchase. I would highly recommend the mirror to anyone that is looking for a fogless shower mirror that really works! Very Highly Recommended.
