Although it is absurd to correlate weight with quality, when I felt the item's heft, I knew it was the proper decision to buy this particular one. The diverter that was being replaced was similarly constructed of metal (as most are), but the lever's interior was covered in cheap plastic, and an o-ring forced it off, flooding the majority of the bathroom.This diverter seems to be built to survive for a very long time, maybe outliving me by a wide margin. It is simple to switch and split the difference thanks to the lever's superb feedback and travel. Since it is merely a diversion, the packaging and bundled things are the only other thing I can criticize. Even though you should be expecting to have these ingredients for this endeavor, it's always a pleasant surprise when a corporation includes them. Teflon tape and, amazingly, a wrench were also provided by the company. The typical o-rings are also supplied. If the shower pipe connection is low and you are over a foot taller than the connection, this is fantastic since it enables me to wash my hair completely under the showerhead without having to stoop over. About 4'-6" (54") above the tub's bottom is where the shower hookup is located. I am 5'-10" (70"). (70"). It replaced a shower arm extension with two joints that I had attempted to move from one bathroom to the other while we were getting a new tub put in the other bathroom. I had purchased it from Amazon years earlier and it was somewhat similar to item Amazon B014TVQYAU. One of the joints started to leak and could not be fully stopped, therefore the relocation failed. Then, while hunting for a replacement for the leaky extension, I discovered this product. This purchase is really worthwhile! Since it has no joints, it cannot leak and raises the showerhead higher than the previous extension. It also supports an over-the-pipe shower caddy very well. I learned that the connection for the showerhead pipe must be 74" (6' 2") above the floor of the bathroom in order to comply with the current Plumbing Code, so I don't need to add any extensions to the new tub.

As you can see by my headline, I'm quite the writer.This was purchased together with a huge square shower head to upgrade our old, basic shower arrangement. It is quite sturdy, this extension arm. The nut that attaches to the shower pipe is fixed, so you must twist the extension arm completely to tighten it. This is my one complaint, which is one that other people who have purchased this and noticed it have also voiced.The shower has been running for about 5 minutes at the temperature I usually use, which is allegedly 103°F, and there have been no leaks, strange noises, or anything else. Very well done.In order to address the title (harharhar), we have around 22 7/8" of space straight up from the beginning of the threads on the shower pipe. I'm considering purchasing a longer extension arm (perhaps 16" or 18") so that I may raise the new shower head considerably higher and be able to direct it downward. Who knows? But in any case, I'm content. It's unquestionably an improvement and a fantastic addition for it.

My favourite plumbing fixture I've ever bought. Using this, I added a hand sprayer to our shower that could alternate between the wand and the shower head. We use the shower for the adults and the wand to wash the dog and the baby. This item is well-made, and the quarter-turn operation is simple and fluid. I combined it with the 8-inch AKDY AZ-6021 Bathroom Chrome Shower Head. Since the shower arm doesn't come with instructions, it took me some time to install the shower arm and shower head because it was my first time.I'm writing a step-by-step installation tutorial and attaching a picture for each one to make it easier for you guys. If this was useful, let me know:)Step 1: Place the screen gasket inside the female outlet.2- Attach the connector with the big round gasket.3: Place the swivel ball into the connector.5- Screw the arm (female outlet side) onto the current shower arm and screw the swivel ball piece (with the shower head attached) onto the arm. Steps 4 and 5 involve inserting the thicker gasket into the shower head and screwing the connector (attached to the swivel ball) onto the head (male outlet side). Last but not least, stretch the arm into the desired position and secure it with the wing nuts.Leaks: Given the abundance of junctions, certain leaks may exist. There was a very small one in my situation. If that bothers you, you can "close" the pipe threads using some teflon tape. There is tape within the packaging, but there isn't nearly enough for several junctions (it's at the bottom and very easy to miss). You can get some at your neighborhood hardware shop or on Amazon (where it will be much cheaper).
