Before making a purchasing choice, everyone considering any product should evaluate their individual needs, applications, and budget. A thing that works for one individual may not work for another. The reviews aren't much use if you can't judge the reviewer since I read several product reviews before deciding whether to make a buy and I read many one and five star reviews from individuals that I don't think know what they're talking about.I'll add my two cents now. I used to work with wood and metal for a career and take my pastime very seriously. After 40 years of excellent service, my Craftsman heavy duty 20-gallon shop vacuum abruptly stopped working. When looking for a new vacuum, I was horrified by how inexpensive everything is these days—from all vendors—using plastic in place of metal and less lasting, expensive components. Unfortunately, the majority of local businesses only carry lower-end, smaller items and do not have 20 gallon shop vacs. I replaced it with a Rigid 14-gallon heavy-duty vacuum, but I was unimpressed right away. The 14 gallon canister was totally inadequate, and the vacuum was severely underpowered. The canister is so short that even when it is only halfway filled, the filter quickly surrounds itself in particles and starts to lose suction.I then started my web search. Many of the well-known vacuum manufacturers don't even offer a 20-gallon model, yet Craftsman offered two or more. I thoroughly examined all of the Craftsman models' specifications before deciding to purchase the CRAFTSMAN CMXEVBE17596, which has much more suction (measured in CFM) than the others. Since I've had the chance to use it extensively, it matches my dead vac's vacuum strength (a crucial performance for me) and other performance characteristics as well. Finally, I decided that I needed a shop vac with the following features: wet/dry capability, a 20-gallon capacity, a 20-foot power cord (anything less is a joke if you really want to use this as a shop vac), and high suction (Craftsman claims 190 CFM; however, HP or peak HP is really a meaningless measurement since air movement is the only thing that matters). The durability of the device is the only issue that remains. I'm content in every other way.The extra dust bag that lines the canister is useless in my opinion. It only catches anything your vacuum suctions up, just like the canister itself already does, but you pay each time you use and discard one. It's a wholly pointless expenditure.

This vacuum was used in favor of a top-heavy monster vacuum from another manufacturer that frequently overturned. This design is a significant improvement.The initial test was a complete groan-fest. It involves a six-inch shower drain clogged with dried-out cat litter, despite being unused. (Ask not.) I had to use a long, thin metal rod to break up the litter before attaching the hose's end to the drain and using my hands to cover the exposed area of the drain to increase suction. (The sewer grate is 100 years old, by the way. There was no removing it because those screws are permanently installed.) Resuming our narrative The drain is now free, but it took a half-hour because debris was packed 12 inches deep to a bend. So, the amount of suction we're referring to is that.The second test was conducted on a second-floor screened porch that was rarely used and had been mistreated by 100 years' worth of sycamore tree trash. In the past, it was impossible to eliminate tree seeds the size of rice from the screening. UNLESS NOW. God, in his unfathomable wisdom, killed that jerk in a windstorm two months ago, which motivated me to clean the porch. The last stage before we can properly use this room was this vacuum's removal of all the seeds from the screens. Quite a few stray sycamore leaves and bark were also scooped up by it without clogging or losing suction.These are my favorite qualities:— Pull on the hose, and the tank will move closer to you. Meaning: It doesn't collapse like a dejected R2D2.— The self-tapping screws hold the hefty, reliable, non-marring casters in place.— The bag of accessories. Godspeed with this. When my old unit fell over, which happened pretty much every time I used it, the accessory storage on the tank would pop out. Designed to hold more things than what it arrived with, the bag is deep and broad. It's highly practical to keep the instructions next to the device. I like that there's extra room for an extension cord and extra paper bags. Additionally, it is deep enough to hold the two extension wands.— Generally quiet. Because of my canine-like hearing, loud noise actually aches. With this, I don't need earplugs. I don't NEED them, but I'll still utilize them.— The attachment for the floor contains brush bristles. The only material in my old vacuum was hard plastic, which scraped and created an awful screaming sound.— For storage, a reliable rubber retainer holds the hose in place. The carry handle and power cord fit together well.— A wet-dry vacuum with nine litres is a lot and, to be honest, more than I need. But I needed to remove the cat litter from that drain, and only the larger models had the necessary amount of power. Although carrying the tank up and down the stairs is somewhat awkward, the carry handle is solid and well-made. Additionally, I believe that the tank provides the bulk that prevents the unit from toppling over.— I hope I never experience a water emergency, but it's reassuring to know that a bottom plug provides for simple drainage.

This is quite sturdy and well-made. With ONE exception, I like the new design. But first, it's fantastic; I wholeheartedly endorse. I adore the wheels, the storage bag, and the way this vacuum looks and feels in general. My only complaint is that the blower port's outtake port is somewhat weak; mine fractured during the first use when I struggled to release the small catch that secures the hose attachment. It was a simple matter of using Gorilla glue to fix it, but after looking at the rest of the vacuum, it is clear that this component is weak in comparison and is located where one would think the design and engineering teams would have preferred a stronger component given the amount of use and wear and tear it will experience at an attachment point.Cost, utility, form, features, power, and noise level are positives.Cons: Too weak in key areas that may experience significant abuse and action after moderate to heavy use.

Because of how powerful this was said to be in the reviews, I declined to get the $40 Armor All vacuum. Reviews are accurate. This vacuum is quite powerful. I mainly use it to clean my cars, so the accessories that come with it are ideal. The crevice tool is the ideal size for use in the space in between the seats. The vacuums used at car washes can never fit between the seats. really frustratingAll of the seats and carpet may be cleaned with the flat attachment. However, I would want to see a vacuum attachment with soft brushes so I can vacuum the vents and dash without worrying about damaging anything. The hose is longer (7ft) than the hoses on the less expensive vacuums, but I believe it might be a little bit longer. Even on small cars, you must move the vacuum to each side of the vehicle for that side to be effectively vacuumed. Although it has pipe extensions, you can't usually use them because they are rigid.It has insane suction power. stronger than any vacuum I've ever used at a vehicle wash. And more powerful than the majority of wet/dry shop vacs I've used. I see why some people would want to make holes in it to lessen the suction. I was concerned I might do that, but I'm happy with how powerful it is. Although I don't require as much suction to vacuum my automobiles, I haven't found the need to reduce it. You should run this vacuum at maximum power if you have pets in the car.It has no wheels to move around on. Bummer. However, I would rather have a strong vacuum with wheels than one that only picks up a few things. It is far smaller and stronger than any shop vac at this price point, making it superior to your shop vacs. Although it is loud, it comes with a muffler that you can use while sucking (not on blower mode). The muffler significantly lowers the noise. making it more sound-proof than a car wash vacuum.So, no, I don't regret purchasing this. Well worth the money. In the future, I might add wheels or at the very least try to get a hose extension. Like, another 7 feet of hose would be fine, and I might not even mind that it lacks wheels.Added points to consider The attachments should essentially be stored separately. The way they portray storing accessories on the vacuum is simply unreal and ineffective. I simply retained the box and put them inside. It's not a major concern because I only frequently utilize two attachments. Most likely, you'll require an extension cord. The cord IS lengthy, however you will need an extension cord unless you are using it within a small garage with outlets on each wall.

There isn't much more to say given the over 200 reviews, but I did make some changes to mine that made it a little more useful and addressed two of its greatest drawbacks.I first purchased three Shop Vac brand 14 units "To expand the short hose's reach and prevent me from leaning over, I used extension wands. The bottom of the canister was then attached using three sections of 1.5" PVC pipe that had been chopped into 9.5" portions. This gave me a location to safely store the three wands and added some robustness to the base in case it were to be carried across tough terrain long enough to wear through the canister.I used six 1/4" screws to secure the PVC "With bonded sealing washers (metal washers bonded to thick rubber washers) and hex bolts inside the canister, carriage bolts and washers are used on the pipe side.The wands are locked in place a few inches before the end by the smooth, round end of the carriage bolts inside the pipe; they slide in and out with ease yet remain in place firmly.The small dusting brush that Amazon claims is usually bought with the three extension wands was my next step. Along with the nozzles that came with it, I wanted to keep this instrument with the vacuum. I saw the outlet/blower hole as I was about to screw in a pipe strap to hold the brush to the vacuum, a setup I didn't particularly like. Another unpleasant aspect of this vacuum is fixed by the brush, which fits snugly inside.For a right-hander in particular, the air outlet has a tendency to blow objects around. With the brush in place, the air stream is dispersed and directed upward and away from the substance you are trying to vacuum.Overall, the modifications probably cost me around $20 and only slightly increased the vacuum's weight and height, but they also made it much more practical and convenient for me.

The vacuum is excellent. It has thus far picked up every item I wanted it to. Even on dried leaves and spider webs, the blower function performs admirably. The vacuum "follows" you everywhere you go thanks to the easy-rolling casters. Now that the garage is clean,I had to deduct one rating due to the absurdly brief power cord. I believe that the ShopVac team should not have compromised on such a crucial matter. It has an excessively negative effect on use and convenience.Pros include mobility, strong suction power, a large capacity, lower motor noise than anticipated, easy-rolling wheels, and a perfectly positioned carrying handle on top.Cons: The power cord is too short, the accessory storage spaces weren't properly thought out, and the air hose occasionally comes out of the vacuum, especially when it's in the blower mode.

We have a standard floor vacuum and a shopvac for cleanup after "projects." However, our pellet stove, which produces ash, is our primary source of heat in the winter. Sawdust is occasionally produced by pellet burners as well. Because their filter media is too large, typical vacuums simply fire the fine ash directly out the exhaust. The same is true when using a shopvac to remove drywall dust; it simply shoots out the other side.Because the filter media is so tiny, this unit's section is rather weak, which is a drawback. Less air can pass through holes that are smaller in size. However, moving ash is not difficult, so it is not a major issue.It's a special product, and I doubt many people would require it. However, if your pellet stove is normally a mess and you do have one, think about this. While you brush things around, you may leave the vacuum running with the nozzle just pointed in the air or toward the stove. A lot will also be sucked up. Just do it outside, and emptying it is simple. We would only need to dump this thing once per few months at most if the pellet stove was running 18 hours a day.I also have a Snow Joe Ultra SJ625E 21-Inch 15-Amp Electric Snow Thrower that has worked well for maybe 60 hours.
