I bought them to attach snaps to the cloth menstruation pads I and other churchgoers sewed for Haitian women. The plier tool, organizing case, and the quality of the snaps all exceeded my expectations. Every aspect of them was excellent. In just over two hours, four volunteers and I snapped more than 200 pads by just passing the tool around. When everyone was ready, the tool was already prepared after they had each organized their pad and snaps. I would repurchase these. Both of the aforementioned causes caused one or both of the halves to crack and snap, necessitating the discarding of those sections. Occasionally, the snap wasn't entirely depressed, preventing the two parts from joining together. I've had trouble in the past with sew-on snaps that I purchased from the fabric store, but since I detest the way sew-on snaps look, I decided to give them a try after reading numerous positive reviews on craft blogs and vlogs. Additionally, the entire set with snaps is less expensive than just pliers from other manufacturers at craft stores.Several points that I believe are significant in light of the various evaluations I've seen here are as follows:1. Mine did include very thorough instructions (including a photo), a FAQ and troubleshooting section, as well as the manufacturer's website for more assistance. I'm not sure if they've only lately started included them, but I'm not sure either.2. I wish I had bought this gadget a long time ago. Very useful for finishing craft projects, house improvements, or changing clothing. It would be helpful if there were a closer/clearer view of the parts being used/which side of the tool to insert each component. The linked video was helpful in getting started. Trial and error is involved, but if you plan ahead and determine which pieces go where, you can avoid wasting any by failing to attach them (at least, I did not, I triple checked before trying to clamp anything down). Make sure the end of the tool handle is where you are holding it. Phsyicis will confirm that for you! With much better leverage, you can tighten and easily fasten the snap.

This is a fantastic deal that comes with a variety of different snap sizes and colors (small, small-medium and medium size basically). The kit comes with a tool to pierce the fabric, a tool to drive/push the snap into its locking collar, and a reversible backing tool to place between your countertop and the bottom of the snap you are installing. A piece of paper with instructions or illustrations showing how to use the tools and which half of the snaps goes into which other half is what is needed. To see how it was supposed to fit together, I had to return to Amazon and look at their listing where there were photographs. This was my first time installing snaps, so if you've done it before you probably already know how the pieces put together. However, once I finished the first set, the rest went incredibly quickly and easily, and I was shocked by how "factory looking" I could make them. Additionally, you should probably "strike" the tool with a small hammer or block in order to "set" the snap in its locking collar.I attached the snaps to a thick winter coat, and so far they have held up well in the chilly weather and when I have worn the coat repeatedly. They appear to be of average quality. Overall a decent product, but they might have earned a fifth rating by giving a sheet of paper with instructions.

For the price, the instrument is quite great. There are no instructions included, and a large selection of snaps, spare parts, a screwdriver, and a punch are also included (not as heavy as the ones I had bought from the store, but still effective). The location of the replacement parts is now clear because I worked it out. Because it is light, my hands are not injured by it (arthritis and carpal tunnel). However, I did discover that after a few uses, those tiny screws would loosen and it would start to squeak. Simple fix! I simply discovered some tiny, small flat nuts that matched those screws (one was too short, so I had to locate a larger screw, and presto! worked flawlessly. Once that, there were no more issues after I applied a thin oil to the squeak. It took some getting used to to line up the "female" snap; you have to make sure it's hit dead center otherwise the "male" snap is a little tougher to press in, but it still works. Sometimes that is resolved if you give it one more press! I am quite thrilled because none of the ones I tried failed. It was quite frustrating for me because I was never able to line up the metal snaps before using the snap tool. I created a lot of pacifier keepers, and this tool is my childhood dream come true!

My previous snap installation experience from using comparable kits made the installation of these snaps even simpler. Ensure that you possess a decent, full-size hammer (not a small or miniature one as it will not do the job).2. Before attaching the snaps, I advise carefully pre-measuring. As they say in the old saying, "measure twice, chop once" (I tend to measure way more than twice to accommodate my innate go-too-fast tendencies).4. Once you're certain where you want to install the snaps, mark the material with a marker, and then carefully pierce it (a sharp, narrow awl helps with this) to create a small hole through which to place the snap's shank (stud). This keeps the snap in place while you're using the hammer to secure it to the material.5. Last but not least, ensure that you have a stable surface on which to operate, such as a cement cinder block or a stone of some kind that is securely in place because you'll need to give these things support (and any snap like these) Again, your fingers, nerves, and your significant other, if you have one, will thank you. A few nice strong taps/whacks with your hammer and having a solid foundation to work on are vital to success.Last but not least, remember the advice in the classic joke: "When all else fails, follow the directions" (). I needed a size 10 snap, but nowhere do they still use the traditional measurements. Since Woolworths is no longer in business, I can't seem to locate these in between sizes anyplace. They are enormous—certainly larger than a dime and nearly as large as a penny. My kid said that Johannesburg, South Africa, had it, which is practically a reason to travel there. These are good pictures, however they do have a sloppy appearance. If your project can conceal from view or it doesn't matter, wonderful. For instance, my grandson tears the velcro off all of his bibs, so my son wanted snaps instead because he hasn't worked that out yet and because the back of the bib won't be visible otherwise.
A 4 0 snap is a size 4 snap.
