I didn't know what bias tape was until recently. I was looking for an easy way to make my own bias tape and found a bias tape maker. I was skeptical at first, but after using it, I can say that it is definitely worth it! The bias tape maker makes it so much easier to make bias tape, and it's also very affordable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an easy way to make their own bias tape.
Bias tape is a strip of fabric, cut on the bias (at a 45-degree angle to the grain of the fabric), that is used to finish the raw edges of fabric. It can be used to make quilt binding, as well as to finish the raw edges of seams on clothing and other projects. Bias tape is available in both single-fold and double-fold varieties. Single-fold bias tape is made by folding the fabric strip in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and pressing. Double-fold bias tape is made by folding the strip in
Yes, you can make bias tape without a bias tape maker, but it is much easier and faster with one. A bias tape maker is a tool that folds fabric into bias strips and then presses them with an iron. This creates perfectly even, professional-looking bias tape every time.
Bias tape is a strip of fabric that is cut on the bias. This means that the fabric is cut at a 45 degree angle to the grain of the fabric. Bias tape is used to finish the edges of fabric, as it can be wrapped around the edge and sewn in place. Ribbon can be used as bias tape, but it is not as common, as it is not as sturdy as bias tape that is made specifically for this purpose.

In my teens, I began sewing, and for years, I produced all of my own bias tape from scratch. We are really grateful for technology! Without YouTube and Instagram, I might not have learned about this lifesaver. Although the Big Teddy-branded kit of bias tape maker tools was less expensive than other brands, I can't see how a bigger name would make things much simpler. Nice weight to the little tools, sturdy packing. After watching a technique on YouTube and trimming my fat quarter to size, I suddenly had about 5 yards of adorable bias tape! The insert end, which I angled cut, was easy to feed. As I removed the tape from the machine, I ironed the finished product, and I have stopped looking back. I might never buy bias tape from a store again. I definitely won't prepare it the traditional way ever again. I'm also not a sponsored review. Just converting now!

A 1/2" bias binding was needed for a Christmas item, so I had to make it. The fabric needed to be cut 1" wide, then each side needs to be folded and pushed under 1/4". With binding this little, this was incredibly challenging to complete. Your solution made it quite simple. I've discovered that it works best if you pull through the fabric approximately 2 inches at a time, set the iron to it right away, and try to iron any seamed sections as soon as they emerge from the machine. I'm glad I found this, because using it has allowed me to create some lovely binding for my projects.

Although I originally intended to simply utilize the biggest, the 1-inch tape maker, I have actually used a few of these.Things to know1) Cut a sharp edge to the cloth if you are having difficulties getting your fabric to start peeking out so you can pull it through. Forget the awl that folks suggest using and instead use some spray starch and your iron if you're still having issues.2) You will get very tight folds, touching, with no space between the two raw edges if you turn the tape maker over with the metal side up while you pull and push. I don't think this is the best solution for binding edges of curved fabric cutting. I use it with the metal facing up and leave a sixteenth or eight inch gap where the two folds meet in the middle.3) Reposition your fabric to the center if it drifts at the entry point. Simply change the direction of the tape maker after pulling fabric through to press until the material is straight.4) Extend your repertoire beyond bias folds. These tape makers perform equally well on cloth cut against the grain or with it if you require a straight piece of trim.5) After completing the pass through the tape maker, physically fold your output in half lengthwise and press that as well if you want double fold tape, which is all I use. To make it more durable for sewing, starch may be needed in this area. Then, until you are ready to sew with it, wrap it around a bias tape card, a ribbon spool, or anything rigid that will hold the folds. This position will stabilize it for work after even a little period of time. Now that I can use fabric colors that complement the project, whether they are the same or different, I adore producing my own tape.

As with everything else, it appeared to be simpler on YouTube, therefore I've never produced bias tape before. My bias tape is now excellent after a few tries to figure it out. Although often not exactly even (especially near where I had to stitch parts together), I would venture to say that most bias makers are like that. Overall, it required more ironing than I had anticipated. One tip I learned was to iron a few feet of fabric as it emerges from the bias maker if you're trying to double fold. Fold it in half, iron it once more (for the double fold), and then wrap it around your cardboard before continuing. That, in my experience, works far better than folding everything once, then going back to fold it over and iron it once more.If you're interested in producing your own bias tape, have some patience, and sewing skill, I most definitely recommend this product. Though there are some projects I suppose I'd still just buy bias tape for (especially if I was pressed for time or the project's quality was crucial). Since most of my projects are DIY and frugal, it's acceptable if they turn out goofy.

This was the finest offer for me in terms of price and the parts it came with. I'm by no means an expert sewer, but the makers of bias tape gave me a quick and simple method for producing tonnes of precise tape! The clips are good, but the machine foot didn't really work well for my project; it was probably operator error, so it wasn't a major concern. I could easily see properly created tape when I used my standard zigzag foot. An easy approach to complete my daughter's clothing sewing projects!

Since I bought it, I've used it quite a bit and have been pleased with it. It can be a little challenging at times, but I believe my binding is becoming more consistent. Gaining additional pins and clips to add to the mix is always a boost. The plastic case, though I enjoy it, isn't necessarily functional for your sewing supplies, but it has found a new home with other creative supplies. I'm happy with my buy.
Bias tape is a great way to finish the edge of a garment or quilt, but it can be a little tricky to fold without a tool. Here's a quick and easy way to do it: 1. Cut a length of bias tape that is twice the length of the edge you need to finish. 2. Place the bias tape wrong side up on a flat surface. 3. Fold the tape in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. 4. Use a pin or clips to hold the tape in place. 5. Starting
To make your own half-inch bias tape, start by cutting strips of fabric at a 45-degree angle to the grain. The strips should be about 2 inches wide. Once you have your strips, sew the ends together at a 90-degree angle. Then, use an iron to press the seam open. Finally, fold the strip in half lengthwise and press.
Bias binding is a narrow strip of fabric used to finish the raw edges of a quilt or garment. It is typically made of cotton or polyester and is available in a variety of widths. The most common widths are 1/2", 3/4", and 1". The width of bias binding you use will depend on the project you are working on and your personal preference. For example, 1/2" binding is often used for small projects like baby quilts, while 3/4" or 1" binding is better suited for larger projects like full-
