I was given two 1.5 mm thick spools of silver colored wire. It is not at all floppy, but it is malleable and moldable. It surprises me that wire this thick is so malleable after working with copper before, but I was able to easily wrap it around a tube and form a spiral shape that it holds.For this much wire, I believe it to be a fantastic price. I was considering variety packs because I wasn't sure how flexible the thickness of the wire I needed would be, but they were more expensive for a large amount of yards.This is what I bought to make button flowers. Interestingly, while I might like a little thinner wire from an aesthetic standpoint, this is approximately the ideal thickness for me mechanically.

Initially, I didn't think I'd need this much wire, but it turns out I did. Yes, you could use it to build a lid mesh for a hamster bin cage for which someone had left a question. I built two hamster cages out of this mesh using only duct tape. It endures really nicely. It simply looks a little bit ugly with all the fold creases, so I wish it wasn't folded. However, if there's a method for your hamster to climb to the top and start gnawing on the mesh to escape, I wouldn't recommend it because it's quite simple to cut with common household scissors. Never had a problem with that, though; I doubt a hamster would make it that high before beginning to chew. Also, if you do decide to trim some portions, be aware that the wire ends are very sharp.
