Despite the fact that I am aware the box states 8-108, I bought this as a gift for a bright 6-year-old. To gauge her interest in electronics, it was planned to demonstrate how it operated to her. Before giving it to her, my partner and I opted to test it out so that we could explain it to her because I was worried that it wouldn't hold her interest. He has an engineering degree, and since we both had master's degrees, we assumed it would be simple. From the age of nine, he also enjoyed playing with kits that were similar but considerably more complicated (although he was far more skilled in engineering than his colleagues).I tried to consider the kit from the viewpoint of a typical young child as I was using it.The first thing we observed about the kit was that, for the most part, you couldn't just glance at the bits as a newb and comprehend what they were. This was especially true for me since I wasn't really exposed to circuits as a child aside from a brief period in junior high. The symbols they use include "U1, U2, U3, WC, S1, SP, R1...". For instance, it would have been quite helpful if the resistor was properly labeled "RESISTOR." Page 2 is really helpful because it names each component. Before you even start, the kit seems to imply that you have a fundamental understanding of circuits. For me, it's best to get right in and learn as I go. I abhor manuals. However, with this kit, you really need take the time to read the manual, especially since an incorrect setup could potentially short out some of the parts. You'll need to assist your impatient or less-than-stellar reader child with this. I've included a few images so you can see how intricate the handbook is. If you are prepared to invest the time to read it, there is a ton of really useful information there. The book has 45 pages.Together, we went through a number of setups before concluding that there was an excessive amount of redundancy. A new configuration is frequently merely the replacement of a specific component or the joining of two existing configurations. We stopped after trying maybe six or eight different configurations (and believe me, those would be really cool for someone who had never dealt with circuits before); after all, we weren't seeing a lot of further variation after scanning through the book. The plastic base seems to be of good quality, and despite my fears that I might break it as I snapped the pieces together, I didn't. It was challenging for me to separate some of the pieces once they were snapped together (literally had to use my teeth on more than one occasion).Overall, this is a pretty high-quality kit, however its capabilities are fairly constrained. When I was just beginning to study circuits in the seventh grade, I believe anything similar to this would have been fantastic. To receive the full benefit, you must not only adhere to the circuit arrangements that produce a particular output (such as a fan, dimmed light, or siren), but also thoroughly read and comprehend the reasoning behind each component's specific role in the overall system. When your 12-year-old starts learning about this kind of thing at school, I'd either buy it for them or recommend it to your aspiring 8-year-old junior engineer. It's a fantastic hands-on activity to support academic learning. I wish I had a similar thing. It's a good deal for the price. Even if we worked through it with my 6-year-old niece, I don't think it would hold her interest for very long. Nevertheless, we'll keep it to watch how she develops over time and will pass it along to other kids we know when it makes sense to.

My grandson, who is 2 1/2 years old, adores this dinosaur set. The caliber of every piece in this set astounded me. Bright and colorful dinosaur toys are available. He grabbed the book right away and began attempting to match the plastic dinosaur toys with the book's illustrations of dinosaurs. He would repeat the lengthy names of each dinosaur just as the book said them thanks to the buttons on the book. The set's robust box doubles as a wonderful "treasure box" for the book and all of the dinosaurs. He treasures this bunch of toys. I'm happy I invested the cash in this set.

For my 5-year-old nephew's Christmas present, I purchased this. This was the present that got the most use out of all the ones he got on Christmas morning. He spends hours in the front yard stomping on the launcher with the family's adults, competing to launch a ball further, higher, or with the most spins. Absolutely fantastic. That's very amazing for a non-electrical, reasonably priced toy. Kids these days probably wouldn't play with anything that wasn't connected to the internet or had electronic games on it, in my opinion. This gadget unmistakably corrected my error. I'm happy I purchased it.

This was my son's ninth birthday present. It split into 4 pieces as we got it out of the package and placed it down to start, which turned out to be incredibly useful. The dirt is soft enough that once the majority of it is out, you can just break it out and brush it off, which made the entire family happy as he dug more and deeper. Make sure you check everything because I believed we had found them all, but when I decided to break up the earth, I discovered one more that was lightweight. We ultimately have 15 that are reasonably nice and sizeable. I brought them inside and scrubbed them clean with a gentle toothbrush. You will undoubtedly require a tool to remove the molding off all the tiny books and get inside of them. I'm impressed and think the money was well spent, despite my initial reservations. The purple substance they have on top of the dirt is the ONLY drawback I can think of. I suppose it's some sort of mould to keep the dirt together during shipping. But I discovered microscopic bits on some of the top-layer diamonds and am unable to remove them. Even though the child doesn't appear to notice, I find it annoying!

Can you perform the bulk of these experiments using baking soda and citric acid at home? Absolutely. In reality, my daughter continued an experiment she had started in the kit using some of my home items. You can certainly produce your own red cabbage extract, but if you're anything like me, you won't. Because you tried homeschooling your oldest child ten years ago, and you still recall what a terrible disaster that was.Even if some of the experiments are repetitive, this is useful for young children.and water and cornstarch? That one is widely known. (If not, look it up on Google. There's too much pleasure to miss. But the point is that before we received this box, I had not conducted any of these experiments with my kid. The equipment is all included in one box, including a stand for the test tubes, which another review omitted for some reason. (Also, obtain a small bag of superabsorbent polymers. Although they are cute, those tiny scamps manage to get lost somewhere. It's entertaining, simple, and certain experiments call for patience, which is excellent for this age range. With maybe three tests per week, we have completed the most of the kit, so I am now looking for further kits. Because the kit is simple, enjoyable, and we actually DO it, even if I have the tools, knowledge, and expertise to DIY the entire project.

To start, a few essential basic information...- The box itself is a little bit smaller than a piece of paper that is 8.5 x 11 inches. The thickness is roughly 1.5 inches.- An 8x8-inch square pre-cast, pre-molded component makes up the inside.- It includes a magnifying glass, a small brush, and a tiny knife or hack.**These tools are roughly 2-3 inches long and as thick all the way around as a chopstick. So grownups, good luck utilizing the tools while you assist the children. Therefore, I advise using a metal or disposable butter knife instead of the small knife they provide. Though significantly more efficient than the tiny toothpick they insert, it is still quite safe. Just some light humor. Now, this is where there is first some misunderstanding: The top of the pre-cast mold has some decoration. There appear to be shells, and it appears that in order to access the shells, the mold surrounding them must be removed. Moreover, fossils are found in shells. NO! The shells are only embellishments with imprints or stamps. Therefore, the mold effectively contains all of the fossils. The fossils are typically very hard, so don't be afraid to start cutting with the knife right away. See images. You must break this mold into hundreds or possibly thousands of pieces in order to reach the fossils. You must continue breaking away if you want your mold to resemble the image of my breakfast tray.Relevant data:1. The labeled promise of 15 fossils was fulfilled by our package exactly.2. There is a LOT of dust. By crazily dusty, I mean. So, if outside is an option, do this. It turned into a mini-duststorm and we ended up vacuuming nonstop.3. It's not a bad idea to softly tap things with a little mallet or hammer. greatly reduces time.4. A few of the fossils resemble tiny rocks. You can unintentionally discard a 90 million year old item, so look carefully!5. The fossils, while amazing, are only one to two inches long at most. Therefore, it's not something you'd hang on the wall.We enjoyed two hours of fantastic family time. This definitely engages the imagination and is enjoyable for both children and adults to do together. It's also really dusty, so I'd suggest either doing it inside where you can quickly clean it up or outside. The dust, I mean, gets EVERYWHERE.Ideal pricing is $20, however a solid quality is available for $25 to $28 as well. Thank you for reading, and remember to check out the pictures.

I purchased this for my kid, who aspires to become a doctor. Before working with a real cadaver, I reasoned that he could get some practice on this one. He struggled for hours to remove the tiny bits without touching any side walls. I was a little annoyed that the "shock" caused by his extraction instrument contacting the sides was actually only a mild vibration that would be appropriate for a 2-year-old. Due to the small size of the pieces, anyone under the age of three should not use it for practice. They may have improved its effectiveness by making the vibration strong enough for a 4-year-old. Anyway, I got off track. After a few days of practice, my kid was able to remove all the pieces from this practice cadaver. He struggled for a while to improve and occasionally became frustrated. Fortunately, this practice tool is well-made and could withstand his violent beatings whenever he faltered. He is able to extract each item for a sizable sum of money as a result of his frustration. If an extraction is successful, the earnings amount is printed on a card; for example, a pulled muscle is worth $200. He can complete everything in 30 minutes and earn $5200, according to our calculations. That works out to a staggering $10,400 per hour or $21,632,000 per year!He thus managed to accomplish everything, and I thought, "He's ready! All he has to do is present this to the Ivy League university's medical board, demonstrate his abilities, and he will be admitted to their medical program and on his way to making millions! We visited a university where the medical board was less than impressed and laughed us out of their facility. It made no sense. I advised my son that kindergarten would find his skills more useful because his goals could be a little lofty for a 5-year-old.Even though it might not be acknowledged by prominent organizations as providing the user with a suitable experience for the medical area, this device is nonetheless fantastic in the end.

We both adore the Mini Explorer Light-Up Terrarium Kit! The box's contents were all legibly labeled. The Setup Guide was extremely well-done, with detailed directions and pictures for each step. There were more than enough high-quality and accurately represented materials included. After only a few days, our seeds began to grow, and now my daughter eagerly awaits our return home to water her plants. We have been able to teach her about the value of plants and the value of taking care of things in a fun environment thanks to it. She enjoys watering Mommy and Daddy with the spray bottle that was provided. Although she is far younger than the product's stated age range, she has done well and liked the experience with our assistance and supervision. For anyone searching for an attractive, entertaining, and educational project to do with their child, I heartily suggest this product.

I was hopeful that my splurge would not be in vain because this was more expensive than what I usually spent on a "toy." My 8-year-old daughter received it for Christmas, and she was delighted to see it. The growth cups were of high quality, and the directions were easy to understand. When we pulled the crystals out after 11 days (the recommended time is 4–10 days), they were extremely developed and gorgeous! However, the crystals' colors were not as vivid as they appeared in the photographs. They had barely any color at all—just a shade darker than white. Even though I tried to be as careful as possible, the yellow crystal disintegrated and broke apart in my palm when I was attempting to collect the "seed" rocks, which are the rocks that the crystal grows on. (The seed rocks can be kept in the crystals; they only need to be removed if you want to display the crystals on the illuminated base so that they can glow from the LEDs underneath them.) I like that the kit includes more crystals to grow than there are available areas on the illuminated base (I believe there are 7-8 different hues), since it gives my daughter additional display and arrangement options—and as you know, girls love to rearrange things. Given the price, this is presumably a one-time purchase.

Nothing spectacular is present. A plastic mason jar substitute, some planting soil, and some seeds. The truth is, you've already done all the labor-intensive effort of creating a terrarium:- The jar top had some ventilation holes drilled into it.- The terrarium's soil and stones are clean and well-lit, and the seeds chosen for it grow swiftly and are the proper size (in terms of growing size). This allows children to bypass the parts of the project that could tire them if you created it from scratch, such as really putting everything together and then watering and watching (i.e. the adult having to track down a mason jar, matching lid, and then punch holes in it with a hammer and nail, for example). The finished product is appealing, the seeds in our kit grew nicely and rapidly (within 24 hours, we had sprouts), and it was manageable for youngsters, who could take control of the task and feel proud of the outcomes. It is affordable, appealing to the eye, functional, and imparts knowledge of biology and botany as well as responsibilities (e.g. watering to keep the plans growing). At this pricing, everything is a win.
