I have therefore been using the same rolling pin that my mother gave to me for years. If I'm being completely honest, it was probably a rolling pin she bought for $10 at Walmart. This rolling pin is great! I bake hundreds of sugar cookies every year to give as Christmas gifts, and I usually use my mom's old wooden rolling pin, which makes the task even more irritating because my dough always sticks to it. This is a lovely piece of weathered wood, but I initially received one with a massive knot that had been filled with an unknown wood filler product but remained enough rough that I had to return it. A small portion on the new one that I thought would function okay actually does. It's a nice, substantial rolling pin. I may purchase a different one in the future because 10 inches is shorter than I anticipated. As stated by other reviewers, this rolls smoothly once you unscrew it and let it roll for a while. I would have given it more stars if the knots had not been there. However, that isn't fair because we haven't yet reached midreading and correction based on such expectations so I can't dock it for that in reality. If it were longer like what I was expecting in my mind vs. looking at a ruler it would get even more. Overall, this is a fantastic option if you're looking for a great, sturdy wood pin on a budget.

I haven't had much time to use this rolling pin because I just got it. This is obviously useful, however I would describe it as being relatively light weight. There is noticeable flex where the handles are attached to the roller body when I press down on them. Although you can make up for it by applying extra pressure near to the roller body, if you want to use this rolling pin for heavy-duty culinary tasks, it might not be what you need. But that will serve my goals just fine. There have been complaints concerning the sticky tape used to attach a label item straight to the roller, and I think that the maker needs to remedy this. By soaking the roller pin in water containing lemon juice and white vinegar for a few hours and then rubbing it off with a dish pad, I was able to easily remove the sticky residue.

This rolling pin did a great job rolling my fondant! I have zero fondant experience. I'll admit that I've only used fondant a couple or three times. When I first began working with fondant, I stocked up on all of the equipment I would require. I bought a few things, including this rolling pin. I bought the smaller rolling pin because I don't make very big cakes. When it finally showed up, it was a little bit smaller than I had anticipated, but I was confident that I could still manage.The rolling pin is constructed of a substance resembling silicon, so unlike a wooden rolling pin, it does not adhere to the fondant. Additionally, it includes a few rubber stoppers to help you gauge the thickness of the fondant you're rolling out. I used a lot of crisco when I first started rolling out the fondant to keep it from adhering to the table. Because of this, rolling out the fondant with a rolling pin was a breeze. The lack of grips on the rolling pin is another another drawback. When rolling out the fondant, you have to manually push it around, which may not be convenient for everyone.The rolling pin removes itself extremely thoroughly and leaves no trace within the plastic. My primary worry with a silicon-type rolling pin was whether or not bacteria might begin to gather inside the pores, but I have no worries with this rolling pin!
