Best Rice Flour in 2020

Anthony's Brown Rice Flour, 5lbs, Batch Tested and Verified Gluten Free, Product of USA Review:

After finding out I was allergic to practically everything but rice in terms of complex carbohydrates and getting bored as there is just so many ways you can prepare rice, I was super happy to find this! I coat meats with it, make dumplings (the secret is to pour boiling water over it and let it sit 10 minutes, then make the dumpling - good with basil and salt to flavor it). I haven't ventured into breads yet as I need to order some cassava flour to mix with it, but look forward to doing so.

Thai Rice Flour - 16 oz (Basic) Review:

I’m using this for my skin, not cooking, because it’s beneficial for skin whitening & complexion. I use it as a finishing powder to reduce oiliness, & so far it’s workin perfectly because it’s incredibly fine & goes on light. I also mix it into masks to use a few times a week. It’s the first time I’ve ever used rice powder ever, & couldn’t be happier with this purchase. I’ll try to update my review once I see definitive results.

UPDATE: My skin really does look amazing, if I should say so myself ;) after using this. Since I use this instead of regular makeup powder, & this comes with benefits makeup doesn’t, I find my skin has remained clear longer. And it’s difficult to know how much of the lightening effects on my skin are from this as opposed to the other ingredients in my masks, I just know it’s working! I will definitely be repurchasing this again when the time comes. But so far I haven’t put a dent in the bag after several months of use. SO HAPPY!!!! I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE TO MAKEUP & MASK INGREDIENTS!!!

Authentic Foods Superfine White Rice Flour - 3lb Review:

Yes, I have an Earth Fare within 5 miles of my house and in in a perfect world I'd tootle on over there, buy my flour, and support local businesses. HOWEVER, as we all know, it's not a perfect world, I use a ton of this flour, and dragging my kids to Earth Fare is on par with getting a Brazilian bikini wax (i.e., not a good time).

Now on to the product itself. Anyone cooking with rice flour knows that it can produce a somewhat gritty texture in baked goods. The finer the flour, the less gritty the product (usually). I have made sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, almond cookies, berry cobbler, and a vegetarian pot pie with this flour. The cookies were the "grittiest" of these foods. The pot pie was the least gritty--the crust was just extra-firm, yet still buttery and tasty. One needs to adjust her expectations when going grain- and nut-free. I get wild and occasionally add some tapioca and potato flour into my baking mix, but the bulk of it is brown, white, and sweet white rice flour.

In conclusion, this flour is the probably the best rice flour I've used for baking thus far.

Dried Sweet Glutinous Rice Flour - 2x 1 Lb (Traditional Water Milled) Review:

I bought this to make mochi that doesn't break the bank! I didn't know it was SO EASY to make at home, for pennies per piece!!!

My microwave recipe is basically 1:1:1 of the rice flour, sugar, and water:
1/3 C. glutinous rice flour
1/3 C. sugar
1/3 C. water
(I decided to make half a batch, which was just enough for a quick snack!)
What I did was do :30 seconds in the microwave; stir; another :30 seconds in the microwave.
Then, I spread some arrowroot onto a baking sheet - you can use cornstarch or tapioca flour or potato starch - before placing the mochi blob down. Then, I covered the mochi blob with more arrowroot before working it into small circles and filling them with *** ice cream ***! YUM!!!

Hope that helps!

Arrowhead Mills Organic Rye Flour, 20 oz. Bag (Pack of 6) Review:

Most recently, I used this flour to bake banana muffins, pumpkin muffins, & cook pancakes. We found the texture to be just fine, not grainy or gritty at all! Believe me, the family would let me know if it was "too gritty". Great price, especially with subscribe & save.

The only complaint is with Amazon & the way they package & ship subscribe & save items. They used to have a "package review" button under "orders", so I did ask them to please not over-load the huge boxes, especially when shipping USPS. They complain to me, instead of to Amazon, & while I am very strong, I'm not tall, so it's hard for my shorter arms to wrap around these huge, awkwardly packed, extremely heavy boxes. They kept doing it, & they got rid of the "package review" button. We've called the customer service dept before & they don't care. They're a multi-billion dollar corporation & could care less about folks who spend thousands of dollars a year with them. So, every time I get subscribe & save stuff, it is still shipped USPS, they still overload one or two huge boxes, & I have to hear about it from the postal worker as if it's my fault Amazon keeps doing this. So fair warning when ordering this via subscribe & save if you also get other heavier items like diapers, dog food, cases of beans, baby wipes, etc; they will overload your box, they will ship USPS (even though they're not supposed to ship such extremely heavy items with the post office), & your delivery person will likely complain to you about it.

Arrowhead Mills Organic Gluten Free Buckwheat Flour, 22 oz. Bag (Pack of 6) Review:

I got fed up with my local grocer never having rye flour on the shelf, or it being outrageously overpriced. I have paid $3 a pound for non-organic at Kroger; here, amazon has ORGANIC rye for almost half that price.

As for quality, I just baked my first batch of Sour Rye today (I made the sour starter over the weekend), and the results were very good to excellent; the flavor was close enough to bakery quality to satisfy these tastebuds. The texture was just perfect, too; delectably chewy and satisfying to bite into. (If you like your rye dark, however, you may opt to substitute strong coffee for water in your bread recipe as this flour is a bit on the light side.)

Give Arrowhead Mills a try, rye lovers; I don't think you'll be disappointed. You sure can't complain about the price.

Arrowhead Mills Organic Gluten Free Yellow Corn Meal, 22 oz. Bag (Pack of 6) Review:

I was at Whole Foods this week. They were out of this product or had stopped carrying it.

Ordered the six bags after finally determining they hadn't just moved it to a different shelf.

But, wait...like 2/3 the price per bag? What was the catch? And would it arrive as the coarser cornmeal as in the picture or the finer flourlike cornmeal I wanted?

Well, it got here this afternoon on Two Day Prime. Six bags. Fine cornmeal. Exactly what I wanted. At a great price.

No catch.

I'll leave the why of it to someone else.
