Everyone else has said that a leopard gecko has a great hide. How does this stack up against the Zoo Med hide, I was curious. I therefore bought both. Here's what I believe: If anyone was curious, the Medium Zoo Med cave is slightly larger than the Medium Exo Terra cave and slightly smaller than the Large Exo Terra cave. The medium Zoo Med is fine (or the large) for an adult gecko, but with ExoTerra you might want to choose the large size. While the Zoo Med is more like ceramic, the Exo Terra is more made of resin. Although I doubt the edges are a problem in the first place, the inside lip of the Exo Terra can occasionally have some sharp edges that can be easily smoothed off with some sandpaper.Hole placement: When I used to create poly foam hides, I discovered that LGs preferred hides that they could descend inside. The positioning of the Zoo Med hide hole is such that the gecko descends into it. The Exo Terra hide has a hole on the side that is low, but it's not a significant concern and it's not a deal breaker. Just a thought, and the gecko probably doesn't care.So there you have some information. Both are in the cage of my adult gecko. Both are good choices. This type of hide is superior to half-logs and other styles. My recommendation is to partially lay this over the heat and to place 1/4 to 1/3 of it over an unheated area. In this manner, the gecko can maintain its body temperature inside the cave without having to choose between a warm cave and a cold cave.

This was placed in our 20-gallon tank. We have a total of 3 hides. We utilize this for our cold hide, along with a wet hide made of a large rock-like hide and a warm hide made of a larger dinosaur skull made by Exo Terra. With a feeder bowl and a corner water bowl, they all fit comfortably in the tank. The only drawback to this is that a bar runs below from the back of the skull to the front tip. Although it appears to be for stability, the adult gecko cannot fit underneath. So I used a jigsaw to remove it, sanded the edges, and it's now perfect.

My VT betta was refusing to enter his moon rock cave since he had outgrown it. So I searched and found this product. It is somewhat larger than I had anticipated, but it fits well in a 3 gallon tank. My betta is a large one; his fins make up nearly 5 inches of his length. Because of his powerful build, he needed extra room to move around. This item's hole is the ideal size for a large betta fish. There were two sizes available: a large one and a little smaller one. Every night, my betta spends the night inside.Just so you know, it doesn't release as much tannin as I anticipated. Not a major deal for me, however if you're looking for a decoration to mask the tannic content of the water, consider katappa leaves rather than coconut shells.- The edges were quite smooth, and the remaining coconut fibers felt slightly harsh to the touch but did not appear to hurt the fish.- Before I put it in the water, I didn't soak it. Molds did not develop on it.- It can be used to mimic the sounds of a horse galloping, just like in Monty Python.etc. I'd purchase it once more. Since it is a natural substance, I suppose it will ultimately need to be changed, but I'm not really sure when. If you own a betta fish, I would advise you to try it.

I purchased this to decorate my Tegu enclosure. The studios are too busy with other huge city-destroying monsters for Toho to really make his efforts worthwhile, so I thought setting up a rather menacing lair complete with all the macabre corpses would suffice to satisfy his blood thirst. However, Toho is having to cut back on all the rampaging through cities and slaughtering innocents. In fact, I was really unhappy to discover upon arrival that this was NOT a real human skull, but rather a cheap plastic copy. I still placed it in Toho's den, and it succeeded in fooling him for a day or two. The reality was eventually revealed to his penetrating reptilian eyes, and, well, let's just say, he was NOT a happy lizard. The nearby tiny towns and villages were completely destroyed by the tantrum that the enormous monster that lay beneath unleashed. This "primate skull" is now buried beneath a mass of actual remains of the helpless people who, like so many others, perished at the hands of Toho the Tegu's insatiable lust. Being a gigantic monster's henchman is difficult, and I must stress that the sellers should make it plain whether or not the merchandise is authentic. I would have been consumed without a doubt if Toho wasn't so thrilled with the variety of food I was able to gather for him. In case of emergencies, I always have a pocket full of worms, roaches, and essential organs (LIFE SAVER), which allowed me to survive. The same cannot be said of the additions to his new lair. Oh, and a quick word about the craftsmanship: I was fooled, and believe me, I have seen many "primate skulls" in my time serving as an evil henchman. This would be ideal to add a hint of gloomy energy to any evil lair if your lord doesn't care how real or recently departed his decor is!

One of my leopard gecko's very first hides was this one. And she prefers it (although the warmth of her hide may have something to do with that). When I originally browsed hides, I remember worrying how the size of the hide would fit my gecko, so here's my two cents: She has had this since she was 6 months old when she first arrived home, and while she was so small, she could easily squish herself beneath the lower section. Now that she is an adult, she presumably contains a gigantic. Even though she is 9.5 inches long, this hide still fits her. When trying to bring some layers inside the enclosure, walking on the hide works incredibly well because they are small enough for her to have no trouble climbing around when she was younger. The edges of this hide were very rough when I originally got it, but I smoothed any of them out with a nail file (though that may have just been the overly-paranoid first-time gecko owner in me).Five stars; I'll buy it again if (and when) I encounter another reptile.

We recently relocated our pet toads into a bigger aquarium. I spent some time browsing several websites in search of one because I was aware that they preferred "hides" to hide behind and remain secure during the day. For some reason, I had no idea that Amazon had products similar to them. Due to the fact that Amazon essentially sells everything, I should have known better. Anyway, I discovered the ideal tiny hide here, and it was the most affordable option I could find. The toads adore their tiny hide, and at least two of them quickly dive beneath it when I return them to the aquarium after feeding them. Additionally, they enjoy sitting atop the hide. Because I want their home to be as "homey" as possible for them, I adore that it resembles a tiny log. In my opinion, it suits perfectly. Since the toads appear to adore it, so do I!

When I got the delivery, I used Paraguard to sterilize them for eight hours. The ideal size. My marine hermits, who immediately hopped into it from their M-sized shells that I had just given them a week earlier, thought it had a nice color and pattern as well. Although I'm unsure if they will continue to grow larger, I have already prepared their new habitats. The ocean, of course! I'm joking. Anyway, I've already purchased them in the XL size.
