Because of the price, I was on the fence about buying it, but then I remembered all the wonderful items I've purchased on a budget, and I reasoned that, worst case scenario, I could just return it. I'm impressed and happy with my purchase, though. In addition to being reasonably priced, the three pack of filters was also a great value; it nearly makes me feel like I stole something! They come with a range of adapters for both internally and externally threaded faucets, washers, and backup washers in case you need to use two, and installation is quite simple; I would estimate that it took me between 25 and 30 minutes to complete the installation, but that also includes unscrewing the device from my faucet, locating the appropriate adapter and washer for my faucet, taping around the joints (the instructions might be a little unclear about this, so just know that the Teflon tape goes around the adapter threading before you attach it to the faucet and also around the threading on the faucet mount once you unscrew that silver mounting ring), and assembly.

I recently installed one of these. What a change in the water flow. Due to the high cost of the Frigidaire filters, I kept having to reset the "change water filter" indicator. till I came across these! These filters look excellent and are significantly less expensive than OEM. Since I use well water, these filters are effective. Great flavor and no unpleasant smell.

Since it has been in use for about two weeks, this filter has performed admirably. When I first purchased the home in August 2014, I was using the GE filter that was a little on the cheaper end of the spectrum. The water smells nicer and the filtering is better in this edition. Of course, we had a complete water test performed by a licensed laboratory, so we are aware that this filter is for treating water that is UNKNOWN or QUESTIONABLE, NOT filtering water that is safe and clean to drink.TIP: After cleaning the housing, oil the O-ring on it before fitting the filter. Use only food-grade silicone, advises GE. Who actually possesses that? I apply mineral oil to my butcher block and cutting board.Additionally, the GE housing has a RED pressure relief button or valve. DO NOT press it as directed because it frequently becomes caught and leaks. Open the hot and cold faucets on each floor to let the line pressure return, then turn off your water supply at the main shutoff and follow the on-screen instructions. I discovered this the hard way and experienced a gradual drip up until I installed this filter (2nd one since moving in). (The "red button" issue might not have been resolved in the updated filter housing currently on the market.)

Therefore, I must say that, actually, it doesn't seem to alter the flavor of the water. The fact that the water has some flavor after going through the filtration indicates that the filter isn't actually doing TOO much to assist purify the water since, technically, water is intended to be flavorless to begin with.I don't blame it for not doing a perfect job, but a filter can only physically filter out so much water (especially when it comes to ions, which it should be impossible for this to physically filter out, though I don't know if maybe it's designed to chemically absorb ions somehow... that is a possibility, but I'm too lazy to look into it right now).Nevertheless, because the evaluation is only for the filter replacements and not the entire Brita system, I'll give it a 5/5 since it easily connects to the faucet-mounted Brita filtration system I already own and performs as promised. Any criticism of the filtering abilities must be directed at the "brita system" as a whole.

Locally, these filters could be difficult to locate. I like the extra defense against water-borne pests! I purchased two 2-packs, so I should be good till the end of the year. I have access to locally sourced well water here in Texas; one well serves more than 150 residences. They try to uphold safety and regulatory requirements, but I prefer to install filters to my refrigerator and faucet.

greatest filter for the money. My other filter, which was the last Pur filter in the set and was flashing red, was past its prime and I installed it the same day it was shipped. There was no denying that the water didn't taste good. I was therefore eager to open the fresh container of these filters. After cleaning the filter and replacing it, I gave the faucet filter five minutes to activate before tasting it. I was pleasantly delighted by the flavour. Without a doubt, I would keep buying these replacement filters. I appreciate the excellent product and the affordable price.

When I logged into my account to reorder filters for our on-faucet water filter, these appeared. They are blue, just like Pur filters, and I failed to read the advertisement well enough to realize I was making a different purchase. I didn't notice a difference because the pricing was comparable to what I pay for the name brand. These suit me just fine. These filter the water considerably more quickly than the Pur filters, which is a benefit. I might purchase them again. I'm doing it in the belief that the water is actually being filtered. I use the filter to prevent any lead contamination of the water in our flat, which is inside an older home.

Good points: Compared to other filtration systems I've used, this one has a lot more streamlined design. Most are large and heavy and appear to be obstructions. But not this one. Compared to the Pur, the carbon filter is far more environmentally friendly. The water sprays out, as you can see in the picture. I didn't experience any water pressure loss, and I enjoy the spray pattern. This can be viewed negatively by certain people. I have only recently installed it, so I cannot vouch for its durability. We'll see how it holds up since there are only three adults living there and no children. Six months later, the Pur filter was practically destroyed.To install, you will need to have some basic domestic skills. I didn't have a problem with this, but others who complained about leaking or a bad fit could. The majority of water faucets—if not all—come with everything needed to be installed correctly. Call a friend if you're not at least moderately handy!The instructions weren't as clear as they could have been, which was my sole complaint.

I've replaced this filter five times. The prior installs went off without a hitch and with great ease. After this installation (done in the same exact manner as the other times), I have experienced a completely very slow rate of flow for the past two weeks, and the water now practically tastes unfiltered. Since they are too expensive to just throw away if there was a manufacturing defect, I am hesitant to use the second one that I purchased along with this one. I don't know the rules for returning this kind of slightly worn merchandise, but I'm hoping I may return or exchange it. I detest wasting money in this manner.Update: It was a mistake made by a person. I thought I had turned it all the way when I first installed it. I wanted to make sure it was fully on when I went to replace it (even though I had previously checked). One more click later, it materialized. Normal water pressure has returned. Increasing the rating to 5 because it is effective and simple to update. Subtract human error because I should have paid closer attention to ensuring sure it was deployed all the way.
