Can you overcharge a car battery at 10 amps?

You can overcharge a car battery at 10 amps, but it will take longer to charge the battery and the battery may not last as long.

Can you overcharge a LiPo battery?

If you overcharge a LiPo battery, it can cause the battery to catch fire. This is because the battery produces a lot of heat when it is charging, and if the battery gets too hot, it can cause a fire.

Do LiPo batteries need a special charger?

Most Lipo batteries will come with a charger that is specific to that battery. However, you can use a universal charger for Lipo batteries as long as it is set to the correct voltage.

Do you have to discharge a LiPo battery before charging?

A lithium-ion battery should be discharged before charging to prolong its lifespan. When a LiPo battery is charged without first being discharged, it is known as "trickle charging." This can cause the battery to overheat and degrade, which will shorten its lifespan.

DerBlue 2pcs Fireproof Explosionproof Lipo Battery Safe Bag Lipo Battery Guard Safe Bag(185x75x60mm) Review:

My bags arrived today, and I was pleasantly surprised to find one extra bag in the order, making a total of 3 battery bags, which was extremely kind and kind of the business. These bags are quite well made, and since they have velcro straps that are approximately 2-3" broad and 6" long, children would not be able to open them, making them very safe to keep around the house. One bag contains five 3.7v 750 mah batteries, and there is still room for another four or five batteries. I have faith in the DelBlue firm that these bags will safeguard my house, my pet, and the batteries themselves. I advise using these bags to protect your drone batteries.

CAMWAY 5PCS 2in1 1-8s Lipo Battery Voltage Tester,RC Low Voltage Buzzer Alarm,Battery Monitor Checker Tester for 1-8s Lipo/Li-ion/LiMn/Li-Fe Review:

These monitors were purchased for my Bebop 2 quadcopter battery charger. I bought a generic LiPo charger from Amazon after the original charger broke (basic 2 wire connection). I had hoped to use the monitor independently by connecting negative to negative and positive to 3S (3 cells), which would have provided a readout on the overall health. Unfortunately, the readouts were, at best, unreliable. I suppose that's what I deserved for attempting to utilize them for a purpose they weren't intended for. I disassembled my LiPo battery to determine the connector's pinout. The monitor functioned as predicted when each battery tap was properly connected; it displayed the total voltage after showing the voltage for each battery in turn. The low voltage alert is quite loud (read: obnoxious), as many people have noted, but fortunately, it can be turned off through the push button (unfortunately it still beeps a few times on power-up). Overall, these perform as promised, and I'm happy with how things went. A little more connectivity information in the description would have been helpful.I checked the monitor's voltage readings against those from a digital oscilloscope and two batteries to see how accurate they were.BATTERY1 (2yrs) (2yrs) BATTERY2 (new) (new)Scope of the monitor Scope of the monitor 4.24 3.82 4.15 4.20 3.96 4.02 4.12 4.00 4.26 4.36 4.20 4.40 12.4 12.20 12.4 12.60The same procedure was used for all measurements: three taps on the monitor and three probes on the scope (probe for cell 1, probe 2 - cell 1, and probe 3 - probe 2). As a result of the monitor's method of value subtraction, there can be some difference (or my math on the scope). The monitor voltages are near, at least. Please feel free to post comments if you know how to calculate the internal resistance, series voltage addition, and loads.Final advice: connect the cell taps correctly to ensure optimal operation of the monitor.

COLCASE Fireproof Explosionproof Lipo Safe Bag for Lipo Battery Storage and Charging , Large Space Highly Sturdy Double Zipper Lipo Battery Guard (198x150x135mm) Review:

A really good lipo bag that can accommodate plenty of batteries is the Colcase Lipo Safe Bag. I included a balance board and four 3200mah 3S batteries in the luggage along with the balance board. They were fully cooked and prepared to be served in less than an hour! I don't mean that they caught fire either. When the dual zipper is closed, the bag's carry handle is useful, and it is roomy enough to accommodate practically any size battery. Additionally, it shrinks flat, making it simple to pack into a toolbox or field for use.One problem I observe is that when connecting batteries directly to the charger (instead of through a balance board), there may be a certain amount of wires (charge and balance wires) coming from the battery that prevent the batteries from lying flat in the bag. The batteries needs to be close to the charger because of the manner I charge and the lack of balance connector extensions. In order to connect the battery wires to the charger, you must have the battery wires protrude from the bag through a gap in the zipper, therefore the bag must be close to the charger. In order to connect the battery cables to the charger outside of the battery, I would like to see a port or hole in the lower part of the battery. Better yet, allow customers to choose from a variety of connectors on a balance board to attach their batteries to the inside of the bag while having the charger connections on the outside.A battery divider mechanism that allows one to travel and store batteries in the bag is another improvement. A divider system provided with the bag may be a terrific alternative that I would definitely purchase. Sure, a divider system can be made or the battery connectors can be covered to prevent shorts.Overall, this lipo safe bag is good for the price and will be useful for a long time. If I have to take a short break, I feel more at ease charging lipos in this purse. Compared to charging the batteries outside, it is significantly safer. If a battery decides to catch fire, that will be the real test of this backpack, which I hope I never have to go through. More on that will be revealed if it ever does!

RC Car Battery Charger for NiMH/NiCd Battery Packs, 400-700mA Charging Current for 2-8S, AC-DC Plug Charger w/ 5 Converter Plugs for RC Hobbies, Airsoft Battery Packs Review:

This is a sluggish charger since it sends a current to the battery that is less than 1 amp.It works well with battery packs that are less than 1,000 mAh.Even for larger batteries, I typically favor slow current charging.I used it to successfully charge a 6cell 4500 mAh NiMH battery (available at Amazon under the name Dynamite SpeedPack-4500mAh Batteries Connection). The battery above has an EC3 connector, but this charger has a Tamyia-style socket, and I have an EC3 to Tamyia adaptor.NiMH batteries typically charge at 1.44 to 1.5 volts per cell. The pack was charged to 8.66V with this charger, which equals 1.44V per cell (8.66/6). Exact in every way (lower side, which is slightly better for longevity).Of course, it will take a few hours to charge such a large battery because the charger's current is on the long side.I left the charger attached to the battery for a few days because a competent smart charger must cease charging a NiMH battery when it is full. I want to confirm that the battery did not continue to heat up and cooled down. That's what happened.Older trickle chargers, which were initially made for NiCd batteries, were easily capable of overcharging NiMH batteries (because they would not cut off current).I wanted to make sure that this charger did not apply the NiCd program to a NiMh battery because it is also meant to charge NiCd batteries. That test was successful.NiCd batteries are charged properly as well; at the conclusion of the charge, the cells worm somewhat, which is normal for NiCD chemical batteries.Other things I liked were:The standard 12V 5.5mm x 2.5mm barrel plug used to connect the plugs to the charger is used.which means that the connectors themselves can be removed (as a group) and utilized in applications other than for charging (of course, as long as voltage and amperage are within specs assumed). There are no exposed leads dangling out of any plugs because they are all "covered."All of my batteries are covered by the various connectors, with the exception of the Turnigy/HXT 4mm plug (which is on our Redcat TR10 car). When it comes to improvements, I suggest:A little longer cord, b) an optional switch that would enable slightly greater amps and speed up the charging of larger batteriesc) a modest beep to signal that the NiMh battery has finished charging.I received this item as a present, and I use it frequently to recharge batteries without taking them out of the automobiles.I roam around where the automobile is instead of bringing the car to the charger because it is portable and tiny. That is the usefulness, which is useful to have but which I did not expect.

SafeAMP 6-Volt Charger for Fisher-Price Power Wheels Red Battery Review:

It would be useful if the charger had a red light to show that the battery is charging and a green light to show that the battery is finished charging. Not a significant deal because we charge the battery for the recommended 18 hours once it has been fully discharged.

Tenergy Universal RC Battery Charger for NiMH/NiCd 6V-12V Battery Packs, Fast Charger for RC Car, Airsoft Batteries, Compatible with Standard Size Tamiya/Mini Tamiya/Alligator Clips Connectors Review:

So far, I've only used the charger with a Tenergy 9.6V 2000mAh NiMH battery pack for an application involving radio-controlled cars. Charging has gone more quickly than anticipated. When the unit is charging and when the charge is finished, the LEDs clearly indicate this. According to reports, charging is secure and has a switch for trickle charging or perhaps just a cut-off when the battery is full. To prevent overheating, a temperature sensing lead is supposed to make contact with the battery shell. While the sensor increases safety and battery life, configuring it to maintain the right contact can be a hassle. The sensor lead is inserted between the outside plastic wrap and the plastic wrap that holds the batteries together because I still have a thick clear plastic wrap covering the battery pack. Even though it might boost the heat reading, I would probably rest the battery on top of the probe if I had to remove that outer wrap or if it broke.Only the lower, 1.0Amp setting has been used for charging. In about an hour, the automobile would have little to no life left in its 2000mAh battery, while it might not have completely depleted. comes with a variety of connector alternatives, but my present battery pack is compatible with the default connector. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the charger.

HTRC Lipo Charger 1-6S Touch Screen Dual Discharger AC150W DC240W 10A T240 Fast Balance Battery Charger for RC Li-ion Life NiCd NiMH LiHV PB Smart Battery Review:

This device features a lovely color touch screen that is very simple to read and comprehend. Great user interface with tons of functions, several battery kinds, and simple navigation. comes with two balance boards and enough of cables for the various battery kinds. An attractively designed manual that is worth reading to understand the charger's operations. has a PC Link connector, which isn't the ideal because it uses the vintage original micro USB design. Was still anticipating using the link and software on a computer to operate a charger. Unfortunately, this isn't the case; it's just for firmware updates. Despite my attempts to make it function with various charger software, it is not configured to make use of this feature. With the AC power plug and an XT60 to alligator clip for use with DC battery power, it comes with both. I had hoped that the XT60 connector would be male, allowing a Lipo to be directly plugged in as the power source. I possess two 15000mAh 4S batteries. To enable the usage of Lipo as a power source, I created the proper adaptor to plug from Lipo to charger. When there is no power and your car is too far away to use the car battery, you can use this as a field charger. But these two minor problems are perk-type features, and one of them is fairly simple to fix. Overall, this charger is still really good. It has a ton of options, a lovely color touch screen, and is easy to use. This charger comes highly recommended. I'll add a video to this review when I have the time.

LiPo Charger,Battery Balance Charger Discharger 150W 10A AC/DC for Li-ion/Life/NiCd/NiMH/LiHV/PB/Smart Battery(Battery Charger Adapter) Review:

For my 3S lipo batteries, I purchased this lipo charger, and boy am I glad I did. I adore how many different charging possibilities this charger offers. With the feature included inside the charger, you may store, discharge, and charge your lipo batteries. I now use 3S batteries that I purchased for around $20 apiece, but now that I know how to charge them properly and safely, I want to upgrade. I really adore how this product includes a ton of connections for various battery kinds. Oh, and as an added bonus for what you get, it also comes with a fireproof bag. Overall, I'm astonished at how much quality you get for the money.

HTRC LiPo Charger 2S-3S Balance Battery Charger 7.4-11.1V RC B3AC Pro Compact Charger Review:

This HTRC B3 AC charger is a handy, wonderful small device. The fact that you can just plug in the balance charge plug and have one status light per cell is what I enjoy best. When a cell is charging, it is red; when it is fully charged, it is green. Use the balance plug instead of the deans, xt60, or any other plug type you are using with your RC or gadget. An excellent low-cost alternative for a 2 or 3 cell lipo battery.

Tenergy 3.7V 700mAh 20C LiPo Battery 6-Pack and T453 6-Port 3.7V LiPo RC Battery Charger for Syma X5C, X5, X5SC, X5SW & Cheerson CX-30W RC Quadcopter Drone Review:

This is a GREAT deal against OEM batteries! I still offer them five stars despite the poor instructions due to the affordable pricing. For better outcomes, adhere to the advice listed below.Do not interfere with LiPo batteries or chargers once a charge has started because they can be very picky. Before connecting the charger to the transformer, let the batteries cool for a time and then plug all of them into the charger's base. Otherwise, some of the previously attached batteries' lights may occasionally go off, interfering with the charging process. Don't mess with cheap batteries' cycles! Before connecting to the charger, batteries must be completely discharged. I land my drone when its lights start to flash. Unless I held the drone and continued to utilize all of the reserve, which can occasionally last longer than a minute, the batteries would not always take a charge. The operator can land when flying very high thanks to the ample reserve time, avoiding scenarios that could lead to becoming stranded on a tall tree.It is preferable to let any rechargeable battery cool down before both charging and discharging.
