Like another person remarked, the Mead Five Star folders come to mind when I think of heavy duty. Those folders really do seem durable. Between are these folders. They feel more durable than those $0.50 Walmart folders, but they're still not nearly as sturdy as Five Star (I have comparison photographs). They are still flimsy like the cheap ones. The Amazon folder can be viewed through the Five Star one, but not the other way around. These were intended to last my sister the entire school year and longer, so I'm hoping they will. I'll just spend a bit more money on Five Star folders if they begin torn before the school year is out. These folders put more emphasis on toughness than on durability.

These were purchases for both my spouse and I to employ in our individual businesses. Years prior, he had purchased them to insert estimates for clients with the relevant information readily visible without removing the documents. I asked them to include projects so I wouldn't have to open the folder in order to look at them. They are substantial and can support themselves in a file stand or a briefcase. The only thing I would change is to have a tab at the top so I could label each file instead of having to search through a mountain of them (which my husband doesn't mind doing). However, I rectified that today. I purchased some robust add-on writeable tabs. I'll absolutely continue to shop. Much less than the big box office supply store's offer of 6 for $3.49.

Because I'm a frugal (and broke) mother, we recycle our school materials. We have been using these folders for three years now, and I can't express how pleased I am with the quality of the product. I have been pleased with these folders thus far. They appear to be expertly constructed. The clips can be opened and closed without breaking, and they appear to be strong. These folders are fantastic. They last the entire year, so I've bought them in a variety of colors over the previous few years and continue to buy them for my kids to use at school. In some cases, we can even utilize them the next year! I like that they sell various packets in addition to being available in a variety of colors, which is helpful when teachers or my children want specific hues. One year, we had a teacher who wanted practically all of the fundamental colors, so being able to gather them all together in one place was quite helpful. Apart from that, they are fairly typical folders with two pockets, three holes punched through them (so they fit in regular binders), and a place for a business card on the right pocket. These are virtually unbreakable. Instead of the fragile plastic or even coated paper that is occasionally mistaken for "plastic," they are the heavy strength plastic folder. Lighter weight folders are not recommended because my children *destroy* them.
