The Good: Simple to install, securely secures phone, attractive appearance. This mount has been fantastic. The mount is simple to put on and take off, and it securely holds the phone, so I never have to worry about it falling off while I'm riding.The Bad: Optic stabilization is a feature that modern cell phones use to enable users to take high-quality pictures with minimum effort. Basically, it makes it easier for you to capture steady photos while moving your hands. Any vibration from the motorcycle is directly transmitted to the phone thanks to the robust mounting that the quad lock affords. My iPhone 10S Max, as well as some other phones, had trouble focusing on the rear camera as a result of this vibration. Sprint offered to repair my phone for free (thanks insurance), but you should keep this in mind before making a purchase.TL;DR: Great phone mount, but watch out for any damage to the optic stability.

This far outperforms the previous mobile phone holder I had on my previous Harley. When I upgraded to a newer bike, I was initially furious with myself for leaving the old cell phone holder on it. no longer. It is simple to lock the phone down by flipping the handle. Even through the filthy streets of Milwaukee's downtown and north side hoods, the locking handle has maintained its security. I'd be happy to acquire another one because it's easy to adjust the angle and inconspicuous enough, but I'll probably remember to bring this one with me if/when I trade my bike again.

On my Trek DS 8.5 hybrid bike, I've got three of these RAM U-bolt mounts installed. I had no trouble tightening this installation down securely by using the smaller of the two U-bolts, despite the fact that the 31.8mm diameter handlebars have a tapered rather than a fixed diameter. The greater 1.5 "Additionally, U-bolts were easy to put over the handlebars' fattest 31.8mm part. The U-bolt and V notch on the mount's bottom enable for simple tightening against a rounded surface of increasing diameter. I use it to store a headlamp/flashlight, a Samsung Galaxy Player WiFi 5.0, and a Garmin Oregon 450. I like that the U-bolts I received in this kit are painted black because my black handlebars look nicer when the hardware is black.The ball-and-socket joint is one of RAM products' best characteristics. It remains put once you tighten it down. The rubber balls still have some flex, though, so the entire arrangement can still absorb some shock. I enjoy that while riding my mountain bike.The kit contains (see extra image uploaded):The aluminum mount has two black U-bolts, one with a smaller 1" width and the other with a larger 1.5" width "widthwith nylon friction inserts, two nutsTo protect the U-bolt ends, use 2 rubber nubs.One plastic adapter insert makes the U-bolt narrower so it can be used with handlebars as small as 1/2 inch "in lengthUse part numbers with caution. On RAM's website, the RAM-B-231Z components appear in a variety of configurations. Hardware might be made of stainless steel, zinc-coated steel, or black powder-coated steel. I purchased RAM-B-231ZU from GPSCheap on Amazon, and the above-mentioned parts were delivered to me. I bought a second RAM-B-231ZU from GPSCity and got the zinc-coated one "only U-bolt.Because of their excessively wide inner diameter and the fact that I didn't expose enough of the U-bolts, the rubber nubs were too loose to be effective in my application. Additionally, the kit does not include washers (zero stars), and if you don't add your own washers, you risk scratching the mount as you tighten the nuts. In order to preserve the mount, I inserted washers. When installation, use caution because positioning the U-bolt could scratch nearby metal if you're metal against metal.

I've tried a few different mounts before finding the one I really like. It's a fantastic way for me to use Google Maps for navigation, a fitness app, and music while I cycle.1. Very durable! I rode my mountain bike along a rocky dirt route. It hardly even moved! This won't move after you put it on properly! adore it Very simple to insert and remove my phone. So that I can look down and view all stats, I keep Samsung Health on. Great bike holder—I'm extremely happy with it! I installed it in approximately 3 minutes. longtime TaoTronics customer with a suitable model in the past. This approach falls short in two crucial ways: When wrapped around the phone, the silicone strap presses the clamp-release button. This is absurd and obviously a design failure. Additionally, the clamp ratchet's teeth are very big, making it difficult to make precise clamping changes to dial in the tightness around the phone. Mine was too loose; I had to move it or squeeze it too hard to make it tight. My iPhone 8 is protected with a standard case, such as a Speck or a smaller Otterbox model. After only one use, I had to return this phone mount.9/11/18 UPDATE: The manufacturer, Sunvalley Brands, contacted the customer the same day this review was posted and provided a refund and a free replacement for a different model. This was really appreciated, and I recently received the VAVA VA-SH025, which is a different model that I really like. appears to be very well constructed, and the new mechanism seems to be more secure and better suited to my needs. Very good manufacturer experience. Would definitely make another buy from Sunvalley.

on a 2016 Streetglide, installed. Without relocating the cables and clutch/brake line, it won't fit on the handlebars (depending which side you want it on). It's on the engine guard now (that was my plan originally). fits and functions perfectly. I appreciate that it has two pieces of foam so that I can modify the size and grip (if it's too thick, it's challenging to remove a cup).I would suggest this product to others since it is good (already have)I tried the one with the bigger skull and didn't like for it at all. The greatest issue was that the walls of the skull were too thick, so I had to either install it to the bracket and tighten it (making it non-removable at that point) or it wouldn't slide onto the mount. It is bigger but didn't come with foam inserts.

Besides, they might make your motorcycle look like a cheap Bronx delivery scooter, damn! They perform their job, aid in keeping your hands and fingers visible while riding in the winter. I have a zg1000 and only use it for commuting when there is snow or ice on the roads. Last winter, I tried out nearly 6 different pairs of gloves (normal ones, not fancy electronic heated ones because I don't like being reliant on electronics). I was able to make it, but after 20 to 25 minutes of riding, my fingers and hands were frozen, and it wasn't pleasant at all to ride like that. The fact that this phone holder works so much better than the others I've bought and is so much less expensive proves to my husband that you don't necessarily have to pay a lot of money to get high-quality items! I love to find great deals, so when my husband needed a phone holder and cover for his Harley, I got on it. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars instead of a 5 is because the photographs are deceiving. It gives the impression that neither the tether, which forced me to purchase a second tether along with it, nor the rubber "RAM" plate, which the device rests on when being clamped, are included.There is no need to add a tether to your order because this product DOES include both the back plate and the tether.The X-grip firmly holds onto your device (I inserted my phone and gave it the utmost shaking, but it would not budge!)-Nearly limitless adjustability and modification -Holds onto my phone without pressing any buttons (phone case adding width gave me more room to work with)Cons: -The installation instructions weren't very clear; -There were no tools provided to help with the installation (I used a handsaw to cut and a sanding block to smooth the rubber piece's top so it could slide in more easily). -The black spike washer thing won't hold on to the rubber without being slightly tightened, so you can't tighten the stem mount using the measurements from the instructions (which is why I sanded the rubber to make it fit easier when I already had it tightened a little)
