Most people believe that plastic fuel tanks are safe, but there is some controversy over their safety. Some believe that plastic fuel tanks can leach chemicals into the fuel, which can then be ingested by the engine, causing damage. Others believe that plastic fuel tanks are not as durable as metal fuel tanks and are more likely to leak.
There are pros and cons to both plastic and metal fuel tanks. Plastic tanks are typically lighter and easier to install, while metal tanks are more durable and often provide a better seal. Ultimately, the best choice for your vehicle depends on your specific needs and preferences.
A full gas can is not recommended to take on a trip as it can be dangerous. If the can were to tip over, the gas could spill and cause a fire. It is best to leave the gas can at home and make sure your vehicle has a full tank before you leave.
It's a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to ethanol and plastic fuel tanks. While ethanol itself won't damage the tank, it can cause the fuel to degrade and break down, which over time can lead to cracks and leaks. Ethanol can also attract moisture, which can cause corrosion.

It took me around 5 minutes to figure out the mystery behind these petcock valves. The mounting flange of the replacement valve, which bolts to the tank, is roughly 1 mm thinner than the mounting flange of the OE valve. 2 My OE fiberglass tank was unable to accommodate the new petcock's bolts because they were just too lengthy. The OE sleeved washers are "too tall" to be used with the thinner fuel valve's flange or the valve won't be held tightly enough to compress the o-ring (that is the only thing that holds the fuel in the fiberglass tank). 4 You can either use the new, somewhat shorter sleeved washer with your OE bolts and be fine, or you can reduce the sleeve height of your OE sleeved washers by 1 MM. Many people have suggested using washers to tighten the excessively long bolts, however that is NOT the problem. The Petcock must be tightly secured to the tank in order to avoid leaking, which is the problem. Any length bolt and washers are prevented from crushing the rubber o-ring by the tank's sleeved washers, which have a top-hat form. You won't tear your fiberglass bedded nuts out of your tank in ten years if you apply anti-seize compound to your bolt threads.

With the fuel line ran properly, you now have very little access to the petcock since, as another reviewer pointed out, the connection to the fuel line is on the opposite side of the original. Even though the filter was too tall for my tank and threaded on correctly, it could possibly be reduced. Since the filter was constructed of a flexible material, I just let it to bend slightly so that it would fit in the tank without any problems. Factory 1/4 line fits somewhat loosely; your best fit is about 3/16. Since my new carb also uses a 3/16 fitting for the fuel line, I don't have a problem with this, but others could. Simple brass 3/16 to 1/4 inch couplers are available on Amazon; this is probably the best fix for the issue.Just in case anyone is still uncertain, the valve has the marking "FUEL -->," and you want the arrow pointing in the direction you desire. The off position should be to the side, the on position should be up, and the res position should be down. With the exception of a very small area at the bottom, the most of the tank can be used in the ON position. You can now use the entire tank by moving to the RES position. They do this so that if you leave it in the ON position when driving normally, you can now switch to the RES position and use the little gas you have left to go to a gas station. Just a quick aside for anyone who doesn't understand how these petcocks work.Four out of five stars for fit on the 200SX, five for quality. Overall, I give it a rating of 4 stars; it didn't leak or have any other problems; it just didn't match the model that it was supposed to. This will fit the tank, won't leak, and is probably the best quality replacement you can get other than a Honda replacement component if you don't mind the minor fitment issues.

matching OEM component The gasket on my 1998 Recon was reused because it was smaller than the original. It's amazing except from that. A 10mm socket is needed for new bolts. To make the sockets thinner and easier to access, it is best to use 1/4" drive. Bolt heads from the beginning were 8mm.

For an ATC 70, I applied this to a plastic tank. Minor adjustments were required, but nothing I wasn't already aware of. Worked flawlessly. I made the buy because of the thorough description, which encouraged me to take a chance. The stop valve is tightly closed. included two filters.

I was replacing my Petcock primarily because I was giving a 1988 Moto 4 Yamaha 350 a thorough tune-up. In addition to bleeding the brakes with fresh fluid, I replaced the oil filter, oil, air filter with air filter oil, fuel filter, fuel line, battery, intake manifold, carburetor, spark plug, and brake shoes and pads. Additionally, new headlamp and indicator bulb. The Petcock doesn't leak and is much simpler to turn than the original. I would advise.

To start, let me say that the EPA is to blame for gas can ruination. I have spilled more petrol as a result of the anti-spill regulations than I ever did with conventional gas cans. This gas can is unique. This gas can is great! very strong, substantial plastic walls. I am unable to squeeze it with my hands. When filled with fuel, it is very stable and doesn't fall over as easy as the typical cans do. It has been ventilated, which is excellent! The thumb valve releases a vent when you press it to begin pouring, preventing splashing and gargling when filling small yard tools.I hope it would rain a little faster, and secondly. It works wonderfully for little equipment, but if you're trying to empty the tank, it will take a few minutes, and you have to lift the full fuel can above whatever you're filling with petrol (it gets heavy fast.) For the few minutes it takes to empty the fuel can, my wife would be unable to do this. This isn't a big deal for me because I use it largely for minor items like my lawnmower, weed wacker, chainsaw, and snowblower. Additionally, bear in mind that the shutoff valve—the component that prevents fuel from flowing when the thumb valve is released—is located at the base of the hose when filling anything with a small fuel tank. The gas remained in the hose will therefore continue to pour out and spill if the thumb valve is not released before the tank is completely full. You'll get the hang of it if you just make sure to release the thumb valve before the tank is full.Second, while it has the thicker plastic walls that I adore, you can't see through them when you're filling it, so you need to be careful. In most flimsy gas cans, the gasoline level is visible, but not in this one. However, I believe the trade-off is worthwhile. Amazingly, the thick, solid sides don't expand in the heat or contract in the cold.Overall, I think these cans are fantastic and I will buy more.

came really quickly. The tank is made of sturdy, high-grade plastic. It just has room for around a quart of gas, which is ideal for my use. Simply paint it, start the engine, and go on a ride. Only fill it halfway; if you fill it higher than that, it will seep out the cap. Just so you know, the petcock at the bottom is sizable. Due to its extremely small diameter, weedwacker fuel line will not fit.

This test tank is excellent. A test tank is a need in any shop, whether you're just performing routine carburetor syncs or performing a thorough restoration on an exciting "barn-fresh," classic find. You need a test tank if you plan to work with bikes in any significant way. Getting a bike that has "sat up" for a long time fired is usually one of the main goals in my eyes when judging if it is worth restoring. (Except if it has a crankshaft with a sludge pin! If it happens, even if the engine was "nice and tight" before you fired it, a bike that has been upright for years will throw all the muck in the pin the moment fresh oil starts to circulate through it.)Regardless of whether the remainder of the bike turns out to be worth restoring or not, if I have a restore candidate and the carbs are rebuildable, they will be worthwhile to rebuild. Usually, a clean pair of recently rebuilt carbs will sell rather quickly. Fresh carbs require fresh fuel, thus I ALWAYS use a test tank in this circumstance. The engine needs proper gasoline and an ignition system that is functioning, therefore these are the top two requirements. It is obviously not a good idea to run fuel from a filthy take into freshly rebuilt carbs. I always use brand-new fuel from a spotlessly clean tank.I've had THIS tank for nearly 4 years now; I purchased it from here on Amazon. The tank is leak-free. The hose is leak-proof. The valve is leak-free. Flows MORE THAN ENOUGH gasoline for any two-wheeled vehicle you might need. Including a Boss Hoss. While the tank is in operation, you MIGHT need to loosen or remove the lid to prevent a growing vacuum from restricting gasoline flow. It's important to note that, identical to the name brand product that is very comparable to this one, you CAN see through the tank wall clearly enough to determine whether the fuel supply has become contaminated with silt. If any rust or dirt has entered the tank, it is REALLY EASY to notice that and fix it before it becomes a problem (perhaps by filling it from a filthy gas can). The motion of significantly more money leaving your wallet is the only "Motion" that ANY "PRO" is lacking from. In all the bike stores I've worked in, I've always used that reputable test tank. This one functions just as well, is built with just as much quality as the well-known one, and costs A LOT LESS!Please click the "Yes" box to let me know whether you found this review to be useful. Please feel free to ask any queries you may have; I will do my best to find the solutions for you. I am not employed by this firm and have received no compensation for this review or any other sales made on this site. Just the idea that a MUCH MORE REASONABLY PRICED TEST TANK IS BEING MADE PLEASES ME!

works flawlessly. If feasible, use a decent thread sealant rather than teflon tape.Update: I purchased this tank in May 2017, and after using it frequently for four months, I still offer it a five-star review since it performs as it should. However, I find it disappointing how this tank expands like a football after even a few amount of exposure to the sun or heat. When it does that, the gas meter displays a false reading. The gauge indicated past empty when I started my boat and looked at it. I couldn't believe I had already wasted six tanks of fuel considering how far I was from my objective. Therefore, there were still roughly two litres in the tank when I picked it up. So you can't rely on the meter to be accurate as the tank expands. It wasn't exposed to direct sunlight because it was in a covered box on my boat. I believed that by opening the gas cap, the pressure would decrease and the tank would return to having a level bottom. NOT!!! Even though I haven't used it for a month, the gauge still reads below empty and it hasn't recovered to its normal shape. I paid extra for the tank with the gas gauge, so if I were shopping for a tank now, I might think about getting one without one.

I genuinely want to adore it. It works quite well once you get it going, and I've had it for about six months now. Below are my problems with it:– The green rubber feet should be more durable. I have to clamp the bottle to my travel trailer. The device is entirely shattered and stops reading when the feet are hardly applied pressure. BUY SOME CEILING FAN BALANCING KITS, IS A PRO TIP. These really robust plastic clamps that they use are perfect. They need to be cut down to fit the bottle and squeezed together to stay in place, but they perform better than the kit's green rubber feet. I've already used up a battery for the Westinghouse Lighting 77015 Fan Blade Balancing Kit; it doesn't need to poll every second; that consumes the battery too quickly.- One of the unit's magnets fell out; I'll try to solder it back in. - When the battery is low, the device stops reading, indicating that the tanks are empty even if they are full. Battery level is 10%. Either that, or my device failed.EDIT: 2/16/2017 - I've been in touch with AP Products and asked for a warranty claim due to the magnet breaking out and the sensor no longer reading correctly. We shall see. When I have more information, I'll update my review. My apartment was purchased on July 19, 2016, or just over seven months ago.EDIT: 7/26/2017 - I apologize for the delay in posting my review. Regarding the magnet problem, it was the cause of the erroneous readings. I tried gluing it again, but the problem persisted. When I contacted AP Products, I was blown away by the excellent customer service I got. Without any hesitation, they sent me a replacement sensor. excellent product supportI changed my rating from three to five stars since these ACTUALLY WORK and I appreciate how easy they are to use. You have a strong product once you factor in the outstanding customer service. After I contacted AP Products to inquire about a better replacement for the green rubber feet, they phoned me out of the blue to let me know they had some new aluminum feet I could test out. They perform admirably! You will need the aluminum feet if you purchase the green feet and need to clamp your bottle down (like in an RV rack).
A 50cc moped can travel up to 60 miles on a full tank. However, this varies depending on the make and model of the moped as well as the terrain.
The TaoTao 125 is a 125cc four-stroke Chinese ATV. It has a top speed of around 55 mph.
Aluminum fuel tanks are often used in aircraft and other vehicles because they are lighter than other types of fuel tanks and don't rust. But how long do aluminum fuel tanks last? The answer depends on a number of factors, including how the tank is made, what it's used for, and how well it's maintained. In general, though, aluminum fuel tanks can last for decades with proper care.
Poly fuel tanks are becoming increasingly popular due to their durability and resistance to corrosion. While their lifespan will depend on a number of factors, such as the quality of the materials used and the conditions they are exposed to, it is not uncommon for poly fuel tanks to last for 20 years or more. This makes them an excellent choice for those looking for a long-lasting and reliable fuel tank.
A steel tank can hold gasoline for a very long time if it is properly sealed and maintained. The gas will last indefinitely if the tank is kept full, however, if the tank is only half-full, the gas may only last for a few years. If the tank is not properly sealed, the gas may evaporate and the tank may rust.
