Can you replace the velcro on an orbital sander?

If your orbital sander's velcro becomes worn out, you can replace it with new velcro. You will need to purchase velcro that is the same size as the original. Once you have the new velcro, remove the old velcro from the sander and attach the new velcro in its place.

Can you reuse sanding discs?

You can reuse sanding discs, but it depends on the type of disc and the sander that you're using. If you're using a disc sander, you can use the same disc multiple times. If you're using a random orbital sander, you can use the same disc multiple times, but it will wear out faster.

How do you get the hook side of velcro to stick again?

If the hook side of your velcro isn't sticking, there are a few things you can try to get it working again. First, try cleaning the velcro with a damp cloth. If that doesn't work, try rubbing the velcro with a pencil eraser. If your velcro still isn't sticking, you can try applying a small amount of clear nail polish or glue to the hook side.

How long should sanding discs last?

Sanding discs are an important part of the woodworking process, but how long should they last? This is a question that doesn't have a definitive answer, as it depends on a few factors. The type of sandpaper, the hardness of the wood, and the amount of pressure applied all play a role in how long the disc will last. In general, though, you can expect a good disc to last for several hours of sanding.

Sanding Pads for Black and Decker Mouse Sanders by LotFancy, 50PCS 60 80 120 150 220 Grit Mouse Sandpaper Assortment - 12 Holes Hook and Loop Detail Palm Sander Sanding Sheets Sand Paper Review:

I visited a nearby large box to look at power sanders for a project including repainting kitchen cabinets. They decided to get a B

BOSCH 5 In. Soft Hook & Loop Pad Review:

holds incredibly well at first. The edge of the pad starts to deteriorate, though, if you are careless and don't check the sand paper discs well. It won't take long after the edge starts to wear before you need to replace the pad. I always have a backup on hand. If not lined up initially, excessive dust will also start to damage the adherence to the "hook and loop." Sand paper discs should only be used once because reusing them is at best challenging. One more thing: be sure to adhere to Bosch's instructions for how to start and stop the sander on the item. I have been able to sand edges and rounded parts while keeping all of this in mind, even pulling the sander off the material to adjust it without discs flying off.

100PCS 5 Inch 8 Holes Sanding Discs - 40 60 80 100 120 180 240 320 400 800 Grit Assorted Sandpaper, Hook and Loop Random Orbital Sander Round Sand Paper by LotFancy Review:

I always do a ton of research before buying ANYTHING. even when using sanding discs I wasn't particularly impressed by any of the Amazon reviews, and the quality didn't seem to be greatly influenced by the pricing (Based on reviews). However, I required fresh discs to complete a freshly constructed coffee and console table. They would have to do, they decided. They were ideal for the position. Each disc lasted more longer than anticipated, and there were several distinct grains for a great finish.Look no farther if you are running low on sanding discs and need a tool that will do the job. You can't go wrong with the effectiveness, price, or quality.

5in Sanding Discs, 100PCS 60 80 120 150 220 Grit Sandpaper Assortment, 8 Holes Dustless Hook and Loop, Random Orbital Sander Sand Paper, by LotFancy Review:

I used to purchase DEWALT DW4306 5-Inch 8 Hole 220 Grit Hook and Loop Random Orbit Sandpaper (5-Pack) to go with my DEWALT DWE6423K Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander, 5", and I paid $6.47 each ($1.29 each disc) for them. For $18.40 (or $.18 per disc), I tried LotFancy 5-Inch 8-Hole Dustless Hook-and-Loop Sanding Disc Sander Paper, Pack of 100 (20 each of 60 80 120 150 220 grits). The disc's hole pattern perfectly matches that of my DeWalt random orbital sanders. I tried a variety of grits and was pleased with both the quality and, in especially, the incredible pricing. Now LOTFANCY has a pleased (and devoted) new client!

60Pcs Sanding Discs 5 Inch 8 Holes, 1000/800/600/400/320/240 Grit Sandpaper for Random Orbital Sander Review:

Obviously, for the price, you get a lot of discs in a variety of grits. I thus had doubts about how long they would last. I've only used these to restore one table top, which had some very severe scratches in the veneer, but they worked really well, producing a high-quality finish without causing any harm to the veneer, and none of the discs I used showed any symptoms of wear. Although I haven't worn one out yet, I can't really say how long they will last, but it's obviously obvious that they will last longer than I had anticipated. You can pay three times as much each disc, but I fail to see the benefit in doing so.

5" Diameter 8 Hole Sander Hook and Loop Orbital Sander Pad Replaces DeWalt OE # 151281-08, RSP26 Compatible with DeWalt, Porter Cable and Black & Decker Tools Review:

I got this product to replace a Dewalt original pad on my sander. Nothing wrong thus yet. Be careful when installing because the screws can be challenging to secure to the grinder. This is due to the thick rubber pad where the screw is inserted. A similar incident where the metal plate holding the pad separates from the grinder happened to another reviewer, so you really need to make sure that the screws bolt on well.

Coceca 80pcs Orbit Sander Sandpaper 5 inches Orbital Sanding Discs Assorted 40 60 80 100 150 180 240 320 Grits for Power Random Orbit Sanders Review:

They offer excellent value and are at least as good as some of the more costly orbital sander paper. They supply you with every grit you may possibly need to sand a project from rough to fine and smooth. Anyone should do this, in my opinion. I've read about the pads coming off the sander and not sticking, but that hasn't happened to me. The Velcro adheres really well, so I don't see why there would be a problem unless the Velcro on your orbital sanders is worn out.

72 PCS 5 Inch 8 Hole Hook and Loop Adhesive Sanding Discs Sandpaper for Random Orbital Sander 40 60 80 120 180 240 320 Grits Review:

When I initially opened the pack, I was dissatisfied since it appeared that there was less loop material on the back than I had expected. The sanding pads from Home Depot work great, but they are pricey. You get what you pay for, so if you buy something cheap, you'll get junk. However, after using several of the pads and not having any come loose or fall off, I quickly changed my mind and would highly suggest them.

Makita 743081-8 Sanding Base and Pad Orbital Sander Review:

The only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is because I believe the hook and loop approach is inferior to the peel and stick system I use at my workplace shop, however both have advantages and disadvantages. The biggest issue with hook and loop is that the hooks eventually wear out, become clogged, and render the sander worthless. These pads are also not inexpensive. If only the hook and loop portion of the pad could be changed, that would be excellent. However,I think the hook and loop approach is an excellent one for the home sander I use periodically because the discs are reasonably priced on Amazon and can be sent right to my door with Prime for less money than going to Home Depot. You also won't need to be concerned about utilizing an outdated peel-and-stick that might not adhere very well. Therefore, I think these are perfect for sporadic use.

As a producer of stairs, we frequently employ Porter Cable orbital sanders. Replacement of the sander pads is a cost-effective solution because they wear out before the machine does. These replacement pads are excellent; we have used them in the past. The hook retains the sanding disc as needed and they fit the sander as needed. For simple reordering, they have been put to the business wish list. Approved and advised by PSR business.
