I bought these discs in the hope that they would function. I had a drain pipe made of brass that had threads on both ends. On one end, I needed the threads to be cut off. Although I am aware that you can purchase them in that manner, I won't bore you with the details of how I came to own this particular one. I utilized a medium speed setting on an electric Dremel replica while utilizing the metal cutting wheel. It worked flawlessly. I finished the task in under five minutes. I applied light pressure, and it cut smoothly. It comes with a plastic container to store everything in, and the disc held up nicely even after grinding away an almost minuscule amount of material (see photographs). Additionally, three blue plastic pieces are included. If you're wondering what they are for, they are case dividers. I emailed Dremel to let him know how much I cherished the new arbor. It prevents the discs from spinning by securely locking them.

Both wood and plastic respond well to the saw blades. Better than having the wheels removed. No metals will be affected in any way by them. For most materials, the black cut off wheels are effective. It's great that so many are offered. The silver cut off wheels are superior on metals and produce a cleaner cut than the black ones. The included tools are a little flimsy and easily bent from regular usage. Although each tool had a small wobble to it when spun slowly, all of them performed fine in a Drexel 4000. Overall, an excellent package that will provide a casual Dremel user for a very long time. The original tool sets that come with dremels do not contain enough of these tools, despite their importance. a fantastic addition to a rotary or Dremel tool.

I had my doubts that what seemed to be simply thicker copies of regular Dremel cutoff wheels would offer any resistance to a bolt. I was mistaken! Works well; we had a battery-operated Dremel tool clone but no angle grinder or uber bolt cutters, so we now have this in our moving toolbox! Although a little challenging, the quick change feature is helpful compared to the little screws on the arbor that keep falling off the workbench when replacing cut-off wheels!Use only with a Dremel tool or clone that is plugged in; do not use a battery-operated one. I chopped for ten minutes and used two power packs before I ran out of time.Advantages: performs very well on hardened steel up to 1" in diameter; functions very much like an angle grinder, even down to sparks shooting everywhere! Therefore, be careful to wear safety gear! As one might anticipate, more slowly than an angle grinder! Compared to the tiny screws on the substitute Dremel cutoff wheel holders, EZ lock is superior.Cons: - not the quickest tool for cutting bolts; anticipate a minute or two for every 1/4" thickness up to roughly 1" thick; - changing the EZ lock in the field is still a little difficult.

Work as required. The only thing that worries me is that it often burns the wood as it cuts. I mainly use these to cut circles of 6' diameter from 3/4' plywood. They cut reliably, however I always have to sand the inside of the cut after (even if they do burn the wood a little). One of these blades can usually be used for 4-6 holes before I need to replace it. In my opinion, that represents good value for the money. I suppose you could make 100 cuts with these on drywall before having to replace them.

Specifically for cutting my vinyl flooring, I purchased this. Home Depot didn't have the replacement blades I needed in stock, so I had to go elsewhere. This has not let me down thus far. I was installing large format tile in my kitchen (4 ft. x 8 in. ), and I had to make some complicated cuts to fit the tile around air ducts. For the lengthy cuts, I utilized a wet tile saw; however, a smaller tool was required for inside cuts. I was surprised to see 30 wheels for less than half the cost of a single Dremel brand diamond wheel, which retails for $26 at Lowes. The lifespan of these wheels is short. I've had my Dremel tool for a very long time. I've always had to break or grind the Heavy Duty Cutoff Wheels down to an unusable size after using them to perform tasks like cutting off stuck wheel bearings on a wheel spindle. My long-standing quest for a more reliable and potent cutting wheel has been met by these 545 Diamond Cutting Wheels. After getting a good first impression of how well they are packaged, I placed one on a mandrel and tested it in my old Dremel tool. WOW, compared to the conventional ones, these guys cut through steel much more quickly. The cut off wheels are made of a very sturdy yet brittle material, and I would frequently wind up shattering them while I was cutting. This is my main worry. These Diamond Wheels cut so quickly that the heat produced is hardly noticeable after the job is over. To the Dremel Tool owners I know, I will extol the virtues of these Diamond Cutting Wheels. It would have been lovely if it had been made of aluminum, which could have been done at a reasonable cost and still generated a healthy profit.Having said that, it functions perfectly, but I worry that if I tighten it too much to keep the proper depth, it will break.I adore Dremel devices and have purchased a number of them over the years, but I've also noticed a quality fall in them recently. Then again, I see this with a lot of items these days. I spent $29 on a cheap complete set as a backup or to bring with me while I'm away from home. It shares a power tool and a few pointers with dremels. It functions just as well as its more expensive sibling; occasionally, I don't even use the dremel.Dremel could still have the advantage, but it shrinks every time I purchase new dremel component because they are now starting to perform no better than products costing a third as much.Was prepared to give it five stars if it were made of aluminum, but I believe I must deduct one because of a minor plastic component.You are paying more than anything for the cutters.Even while Dremel continues to offer the best cutting and carving parts at a premium price, quality always comes at a higher cost.
