In order to add more blocking and sistering, I needed to be able to drill screws into joists in a subfloor. I began my search for a solution because there was no way I could put my rifle and a 2" screw in such little areas. Since I'm a novice DIYer, I can't buy every tool I desire because it might not be particularly useful after that project. Although I would adore a right angle drill, the cost would be prohibitive for a small number of screws. This little gentleman performed admirably and was affordable enough to be justified. It had no trouble accepting whatever bits I threw at it and can manage enough torque for the majority of usage scenarios. The larger pieces were stable, and it wasn't too deep for the tiny pieces to get lost in.The fact that it doesn't lock in place after you're in place is the only genuine issue I have with this device. It can only be used in extremely tight spaces since you must keep it firmly in place. But overall, it was an excellent purchase and did the job.

I guess I now have a third charger in addition to the two I already have. Although the kit's bag is a touch small, it was great for my 20-volt grinder and all of its attachment wheels.The drill has a strong build and a lot of power, so hopefully it will hold up in the real world.I'd really want to see batteries that can be opened easily so that you can swap out the cells at home, but I doubt anyone will create those.Use the Milwaukee Switchblade Self-Feed bits if you want to make the most of this drill by always having a sharp bit with the right edge profile. In their new 20vmax range, DeWalt is producing some really amazing tools. For the first time, I've begun acquiring novelty tools (which are almost ever "required") only to round out my collection. I just can't stop buying them since they are all so lovely. Since I have a sizable battery collection, I can purchase "tool only" versions at a fair price. I occasionally find myself wanting to drill or drive in confined locations. In the past, I've always used hand tools.The drill is sturdy and substantial. Both the motor and the control are smooth. It has two speed ranges and excellent, precise trigger control. You can easily move at a snail's speed.This drill has an intriguing chuck. Although it's difficult to explain, the way it locks when rotated with your hand is simpler than others and appears to have a positive locking set point, as opposed to other chucks that require you to crank down as hard as you can. Additionally, the chuck is quite small, perhaps to minimize the drill's footprint given that it is typically utilized in confined locations. The drill only measures around 6" when using a standard bit (about 2"). With the length of the screw being pushed, you will undoubtedly lose space, but you could also use a stubby bit to gain almost an inch.The drill has one drawback, which is that you can't apply a lot of pressure to it due to the length of the handle and the leverage that comes with holding a tool like this. However, that is a characteristic of how the tool is used, not a flaw.

Why I didn't purchase this sooner is beyond me. With the use of this incredible equipment and an HD M18 battery, I was able to buff (wax) the whole exterior of my vehicle, and the battery's indicator never once showed anything less than full! The tool feels sturdy and well-built, the trigger is surprisingly controllable in terms of how much you can squeeze it to moderate torque, and it has the wheel dial to choose what kind of torque cutoff point you need for particular situations despite the fact that that review is only of the battery itself (sold separately). Even with a massive battery pack, the light is not overly heavy and has a powerful LED. I will concur with the others, however, that this item does not even arrive from this seller inside its original box, so I strongly advise ordering this item along with a few other items so the Amazon fulfillment center can place it in a box with your other items. If you purchase this on its own, it will just arrive in plastic wrapping.

For our new sliding shelving units that I am installing, I am taking a break and using this to reach way back, drill a tiny pilot hole, and then screw in the L brackets. I must leave the shelf linked to the L brackets and slider units for alignment reasons (soft close, either you are dead on, or they don't catch), have only 8" of top clearance, and must be able to reach back 22" while laying on the floor. It is advised to limit the use of this unit's angle rotation head to small screws and drill bits. This cannot be used for huge or long screws, or for heavy construction purposes. The bits must be released by pulling back the catch latch on the magnetic head. The catch latch also features a powerful magnet for hands-free screw retention. To fit into small spaces, I bent the spline into a half circle, and it still functions properly. The only two rotating components are the bit's head and the back of the tool, which prevents the humiliating tool marks frequently produced by chuck errors. It has a tiny handle that attaches to the angle head on either side. The handle is hollow, has a cap that can be removed, and can accommodate numerous tiny parts. This has made the installation neat and simple rather than killing myself by using a stubby and muscling in the screws after using an awl. The head is too thin to accommodate large gears, therefore I'd advise sticking with a #8 or #10 x 3/4 to a 1" maximum.
