Sangean H202 Portable AM/FM/Weather Alert/ Bluetooth Digital Tuning Waterproof Shower Radio Review:

We've had two Sony shower radios for the past, oh, 15 years, I'd estimate. They excelled. They had good sound quality, lasted a very long time, and had endless battery life. So I went to Amazon to hunt for another one after the second one recently broke. When I saw the Sangean shower radio offered, I was curious. It received excellent reviews and featured all of the Sony's features. BUT it also supported Bluetooth. It's a big deal. Although I enjoy using my iPhone when in the shower, I obviously don't want to get it wet. I used to fall back on sealing my phone in a baggie and praying that nothing would leak. But this issue was resolved by the Sangean. The sound quality is excellent, and connecting to BT is simple. The fact that all of the controls are located on the Sangean's FACE is another factor that makes it better for me than the Sony. They are on top of the Sony. I'm a 5'4" woman. I can't see the top of the Sony without moving the radio that is dangling from the shower head. I don't need to be on my tiptoes or move the radio out of the way to see the Sangean controls clearly. We get decent reception on the device (despite being in a mountainous area), and it has a small light on the side. I'm not sure why my shower radio needs a light, but there it is. So I think I'm covered if the power goes out while I'm taking a shower. Additionally, there is an emergency siren, although the button is on the side of the device. I won't be able to reach the shower head all the way up to turn on the small siren if I fall in the shower. If I do the laundry and fail to put a clean towel out, maybe I can use it to convince my spouse to bring me a towel! Other than that, I'm not sure; I suppose it's a "spouse summoner."Making the reading on the clock darker and easier to see is the only thing I would modify. The Sony excelled in that area. How long it will last is something I can't predict. Other Sangean goods we've used have lasted for a very long time. I anticipate it to be the same.

Sangean H201 Portable AM/FM/Weather Alert Digital Tuning Waterproof Shower Radio Review:

This was the first box I opened after receiving my Amazon purchases, which took a month to travel by sea from the US to the Philippines.I was thrilled to see this new Sangean radio model because I had previously made excellent Sangean purchases. The size and weight of this radio are the first things I have noted. When turned on, the reception is excellent, as one would anticipate from a Sangean radio.Although the auto-tuning is not as quick as my PR- D18's, it was still able to pick up many AM stations, and the built-in wire antenna helps with FM station reception. For use at home, the maximum volume is loud enough.Although the speaker's Bluetooth functionality produces decent sound quality, I wish it also had the Digital Bass Boost capability found in other Sangean models. For emergency situations, the built-in illumination on the side is a huge plus. When there are brownouts, you can easily get 2 D size batteries from neighboring businesses. I utilized two rechargeable AA Eneloop batteries along with AA to D plastic adapters.I put it to the test in the rain, and boy is it waterproof. The rubber seal at the adaptor connector on my item wasn't completely sealed, but thanks to Amazon, the issue was immediately fixed.Overall, I heartily endorse this radio.

ASIYUN Shower Radios, Waterproof Speaker with Louder HD Sound, 4H Playtime Portable Wireless Speaker with Suction Cup & Sturdy Hook, Built in Mic, for Bathroom, Pool, Beach, Outdoor (Blue) Review:

This tiny Bluetooth speaker is quite powerful. You don't need the phone in the shower because the device has a volume control and next button. You can hear how loud and clear it becomes by listening to my video, and that is just halfway through. For attachments, it has a carabiner or a suction cup.

BassPal Shower Speaker Waterpoof IPX7, Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speakers with Radio, Suction Cup & LED Mood Lights, Super Bass HD Sound Perfect Pool, Beach, Bathroom, Boat, Outdoors (01.Blue) Review:

Purchased because everything in a kayak gets wet and I enjoy listening to music while paddling. I thought the FM receiver feature was a neat feature I hadn't noticed on other speakers (without getting super expensive) It is a very robust small speaker that appears to have been properly manufactured. When I connected it to my laptop and started playing Amazon music, the sound was fairly loud for such a little speaker, but when I turned up the volume on all three—Amazon Music, the laptop, and the speaker itself—it became extremely loud. All day long (8 hours), I turned it down and listened to music with it, and the speaker's charge hasn't completely run out. I don't really understand the light aspect, and it didn't make me want to "take a hilarious bath," but it wasn't the reason I bought it (and they can be turned off). However, perhaps the lights would be interesting if you had it bobbing around in a hot tub. The suction cup is quite "sucky," and when I attached it to my shower I struggled to remove it. In the end, I removed the radio from the cup rather than the suction cup itself (but the cup slipped back on so all was well in the end). The controls require some getting accustomed to, but once you understand the "long push / short press," you can handle it without much difficulty. Being unable to see where you were on the "dial" was a bummer, but the lack of a screen also makes it extremely waterproof, so it's a loss worth having. The FM radio was simple to use, picked up a few stations, and was fairly clear, especially considering that I live in the mountains and don't usually get good reception. Now that I know it is durable enough to last, I believe this will be my camping speaker as well as my kayak speaker. Just enough for it to say "Paired" both when you connect to it over Bluetooth and when you disconnect it from a device. I briefly lost consciousness because of that before realizing that it had actually unplugged. Although it actually isn't a big deal, I simply thought it was hilarious. I'm not sure what's going on with that. Overall, I believe it's a terrific small speaker, and I paid approximately $25 for it—I think that's about right—after using a coupon when I bought it.

Bluetooth Portable Waterproof Shower Radio - HB Illumination – Shockproof, Dustproof Wireless Shower Radio with Suction Cup, Perfect for Pool, Shower, Boat, Beach, HOT Tub, Outdoors, Indoors Review:

Let me start by saying that I already own a JBL Flip 4 and a MotoMods JBL speaker for my phone. As a result, much of the evaluation will compare the three devices because I believe it provides a fair basis for comparison. The speaker initially came with a microUSB charging cord, but I used my hub to charge it while I tested it out. Connecting is fairly straightforward. I promptly paired my Bluetooth device (Android/Moto Z Play) after turning it on.I used iHeart Radio to listen to it because its audio quality is superior to that of other streaming services, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it sounded. Being completely honest, I didn't have high expectations considering how tinny and lacking in bottom end most cheap Bluetooth speakers sound. The Flip 4 is far more powerful and has a deeper sound than the HydroBeat, but it also costs three times as much or more to buy and is much heavier to carry around. The sound quality is best described as being considerably better than my phone, but not quite as excellent as my Flip 4, and pretty close to my MotoMods JBL speaker, maybe a bit behind the MotoMods, but comparable. You might really prefer this little guy to the Flip 4 if you listen to talk radio or podcasts, and if you need waterproofing, it's far better than the MotoMods JBL. I genuinely believed that this had crisper "words" and lyrics tracks than my Flip 4. The Flip tends to "muddy" up the lyrics a little bit because it has more low end. It's sort of a trade-off between clear words and less low end.It sounds wonderful while listening to music on the balcony. It wasn't flawless and wasn't as good overall as my Flip 4, but for me, it was more than sufficient.I listened to songs like Ready To Go, Republica's Only Happy When it Rains, Garbage Team, Iggy Azalea's Battleflag, and Lo Fidelity All-Stars with both speakers.Bass Patrol South of Saskatoon; Sonny James Nix Hex; 311 Play; David Banner Zombie; Bad Wolves Sham Pain; Five Finger Death Punch Behind Blue Eyes; Limp Bizkit; Pegboard Nerds

BassPal Shower Speaker, IPX7 Waterproof Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker with Radio, Suction Cup and Led Mood Lights, Super Bass HD Sound Pool, Bathroom, Beach, Boat&Outdoors Review:

I was drawn to this Bluetooth speaker because of its features and appearance. It features an FM radio, is USB rechargeable, and is incredibly portable. The music was loud and clear as I moved throughout the house (including the restroom) and outside after connecting it to my Android phone. Its excellent suction cup will adhere to anything.I haven't used it in the shower, but I can't wait to get back to Florida and let it float around the pool, haha. I recommend this since the price is nice, the product sounds wonderful, and it's supported by excellent customer service if you need it (although I highly doubt you will).I received the following email from the company two days after receiving it:Hello, Bill, my dear! The way are you?My name is Crystal, and I'm from the BassPal Service Team. Sony ICF-S80 Splash Proof Shower Radio with Speaker Review:

ADDITIONAL REVIEW: Although little pricey, I believe this to be the best shower radio available. Given that I would hazard a guess that the U.S. is a bigger market for this product than the entire Eurozone (maybe I'm wrong), I deducted one star due to some uncertainty regarding Sony's Euro-centric marketing (described below). Point is, given that this is merely a shower radio, one would expect to be able to take it out of the box, pop some batteries in, and use it. However, the radio's "default" setting is set to Eurozone radio frequencies, making it a "brick" out of the box, unable to tune to U.S. AM or FM frequencies. But no! A small-sheet instruction booklet that comes with the radio describes how to reset it for usage in the United States. I'll admit that it took me a couple of days to understand this, but the product's friendly vendor emailed me the directions. Yes, feel free to criticize me for not reading the instructions, but c'mon, it's a radio.:) I had the earlier model of the same radio, and this is a good advance —- larger weight antenna led to better reception, etc. — once I got that out of the way.

Waterproof Bluetooth Shower Speaker Splash Tunes – Portable, Hands Free, Wireless, Water Resistant, Shower Speaker with Built-in Mic and Suction Cup (Splash Tunes Pro, STP Rose Gold) Review:

We recently upgraded our phones to the new Galaxy S8, and we soon discovered that they support the Bluetooth 4.0 Media Sync feature (so the device itself can both remember and set the preferred volume).I set out to discover a new Bluetooth 4.0 shower speaker that would support this capability because I thought this was fantastic. After buying three different models from Amazon, I came to the conclusion that just because something is advertised as being Bluetooth 4.0 compliant, doesn't mean it actually is. We appreciate Amazon making returns so simple! When I saw this speaker, we decided to try again even if our hopes weren't very great because we were about to give up.Thankfully, this speaker is excellent and is a Bluetooth 4 speaker! Not only does it seamlessly sync media volume, but it also has a greater sound quality than the shower speakers we previously used. The main drawback is that the handbook clearly warns against using a charger that produces more than 1A of current while charging to avoid damaging the speaker. I thought that was strange, but I plugged it into my regular high-amp charger nevertheless, and soon a red error light started blinking. To use this speaker with an earlier 1A charger, I had to search.Overall, ignore the rest and choose this model if you're seeking for a suction cup shower speaker that supports USB Media Volume Sync.[Updated on 12/22/2017]A few months ago, I came to the realization that, because the shower speaker's battery has never run out, I have never seen what happens when it does.To be safe, I recharge it once a month, but it has never died on its own.It has now been without a charge for a complete 60 days. This is based on me using it every day for 15-20 minutes while getting ready for the day and using it seven days a week.I only wanted to mention the outstanding battery life in this report and will return to do so whenever the battery has to be recharged. I'll be genuinely astonished if that doesn't occur in the upcoming days, but I had the same opinion one month ago.[*** 2/16/2018 Update ***]Well, the battery experiment took much longer than I anticipated.Yesterday while it was playing, the red light started blinking red, but I kept going to see what would happen when it truly died. The light was still glowing red when I woke up this morning, and it continued to do so until it played one lengthy beep and then switched off.I consider that to be a fairly effective battery warning mechanism. Much better than the ones who, as they approach death, speak every 60 seconds. The battery life is also astonishingly long! Although I wish I had kept track of the experiment's exact start date, it has probably been running for 3–4 months now.
