I purchased these for our just purchased (by us) porch swing. I read that people loved these because they give the swing a little bounce.I wasn't sure whether or not I needed them because I had never owned a porch swing.I purchased these because of the excellent reviews and the straightforward fact that they were made in the USA. As stated in the instructions, installation is quite simple. As a safety precaution, place the porch chain on top of the top hook of the spring after you have fastened the springs to your hooks or mounting brackets.After testing the swing without the springs for about five minutes, I retested after adding the springs. With the springs, it is more comfy. when swinging, has a great bounce or give. I'm happy I acquired the springs.My ONE and ONLY complaint, which I wish the manufacturer would list. For what weight are the springs rated? On the box or instruction sheet, it is not stated anywhere. Although most people probably wouldn't even notice and it's not a deal-breaker for me, I like to be cautious. The combined weight rating of my Sittin Easy swing, the brackets I used, and the GRK RSS screws, which I utilized, is only 500 pounds (4 total = 5,200 pounds). I placed my order without really knowing what I needed. The chain looks and feels fantastic despite being substantially thicker and heavier than the original. It took me two trips to the hardware store to figure out how I would attach to the rings that were already a part of the swing. The chain was too thick/fat, but nice size S hooks made it great. I talked about setting up this swing and then went through the compression springs I utilized. In Colorado, we stayed in a VRBO where there was a swing. We liked it so much that I bought it after seeing it on Amazon. It arrived in pretty nice packaging. Although the instructions were clear, I did make one little error. I simply went back to where I veered off course and completed it correctly. The swing is lightweight when put together but highly durable. The real wood is pretty nice. True wood slats, yes. To get rid of any stains that did not seep into the wood, I would advise washing the slats with soap and water. After that, I suggest using your preferred wood polish, tongue oil, or a comparable product on the wood slats. It is cozy and has a nice appearance. I do advise adding a few compression springs to it. It is now ready to use after having a few basic cushions placed on it. This swing is fantastic, and I really recommend it.

We had purchased a similar type of BBQ cover, so we loved this swing cover. The cover's lack of a ground connection is the only drawback. This brand had the largest size for our swing, and all other brands do not go to the ground either. We managed by adding a bigger tarp and covering it with this cover.We wanted a little extra protection even though it is on a covered patio because living in Northern Nevada means heavy winds, sometimes snowfall, and rain during the winter. Personally, I find this chair to be much more lovely without the stand, however my open rooftop deck did not allow for that. I'm pleased I followed my instincts because this is not generally a look you see in urban outdoor settings where I live, but I truly wanted it (I find the swinging motion comforting) (even though some people tried to talk me out of it). Given the height of the stand, I was concerned that it might topple over in a strong wind. To be safe, I filled sandbags similar to ABCCANOPY Heavy Duty Premium Instant Shelters Gazebo Weight Bags with pea gravel and fastened them to the (broad) base. The chair recently fared well during a windy weekend with gusts of more than 40 mph. I bought a waterproof cover that I intended to keep on it at all times when not in use, but it cannot be tightened enough around the swing (or the base) to prevent it from catching the wind and ballooning up, making the entire unit much more susceptible to tilting. This is the only caution I have for anyone for whom wind is an issue. I threw away the cover and now just store the cushion. Will update if that develops into an issue.

This set of swing hangers has been great thus far. So far, I've only had them for about six months, and for about five of those, it hasn't been warm enough to sit on the front porch swing.Since we first moved into our home more than 35 years ago, we have had a porch swing. Unfortunately, the typical eye screws have broken off three times, sending me plummeting to the ground below. There were no accidents, but the swing broke the last time, so I thought I should come up with a new strategy. Although I've heard about this kind of swing hanger, I've never actually seen one or talked to somebody who has used one. When I purchased and installed them to hang my new porch swing last fall, it seemed a little bit like a leap of faith.I'm a little let down that the package has no weight restrictions. Although the springs themselves are rated at "600 lbs," is that for the pair or for each spring? The packaging was silent. The hangers themselves have no weight restrictions listed on the packaging whatsoever. Given that they are plastic, this was also a worry. Although not your typical everyday plastic, resin is nevertheless a plastic. I thus called the producer and spoke with a corporate representative. He informed me that they didn't put a weight limit because of liability concerns, which may have just been the "company line." They might not be able to hold weight if they were put incorrectly or if the lag screws used to hang them were of poor quality. However, he did mention that during factory testing, they had more than 600 lbs. hanging on them separately and experienced no issues.They feature a moving component that is supported by a hinge pin, thus I wonder if the frequent motion would eventually wear them down. However, as they haven't been in use for very long, I have no way of knowing that at the moment. Another issue with the conventional eye screw and S hook was that they would eventually become worn out from the repeated back-and-forth motion of the swing, leaving each piece of steel with a distinct notch. To be fair, though, metal fatigue eventually caused them to fail before they wore out. Additionally, you might see the wear by performing routine inspections.Last but not least, the TWO lag screws per hanger that are used to mount them adds an extra measure of security. Should one of them fail, the other one ought to be sturdy enough to prevent the collapse of the entire assembly.I have high hopes that this swing hanger set will permanently fix my porch swing issue. I'll soon reach the age where a brief visit to the porch floor might necessitate a brief visit to the emergency department. That won't be the case with these, I'm betting.

Since they have clear written instructions, they are an improvement over IKEA instructions. My recommendation is to hold off on tightening anything up until the very end. The arm rest holes here don't line up, according to other comments I've read. You might need to adjust the back in order for the holes to match up because the back reclines by around 15 degrees.The construction is adequate. Although the wood has a lot of knots, it smells fantastic. The bench slats were stapled, and one of the planks wasn't fully nailed down, but the major structural components are secured with correct screws. The slats will likely be secured with wood screws to keep them in place.The chain's length is the same front to back, but because the front has a hook, it tends to lean forward a little. To fix this, I looped the remaining links back, raising the front end a little, making it much more comfortable.My wife and I were both able to relax in the swing without worrying about it breaking down. There should be no creaking or excessive flexing, but you shouldn't do more than two adults at once. Cushions enhance the experience as well.This is essentially a porch swing kit. You'll be content if you remember that. The extra work required to finish it was well worth the price premium for porch swings with finished frames.

It was simple to put together even with a migraine after I just received it today. Nice chair, just as I imagined, and I'm putting it on an old swing base where the old one's seat had torn; the new one's seat is made of metal instead. I adore it and think this is a terrific idea. When summer arrives, it will move outside. The extra chain will be cut off and possibly utilized for further reinforcing now that it is in the basement, where I may spray something to protect it from rain over the summer. wonderful chair I'm grateful.
