**UPDATE**Because my family adored this fan so much, I purchased five more. One each for the living room, my boyfriend, my brother, and my sister. Absolutely worthwhile! This fan is quite powerful and not too loud. The loudest setting was comparable to the lowest on my dad's old fan. Since the middle of July, he has been using it every night because he likes it so much. So far, no issues! Buttons on the remote might benefit from a backlight for when you need to adjust the settings in the dark. But that is the only issue I have. We will order a few more for the house if this still stands up properly!Oh, just so you know. This enormous a**hole. I mistook the entire unit for being 12 inches. NOPE! The blade housing has a 12 inch diameter. If I recall properly, the real height was 19 inches, and the width was roughly 14 to 15 inches. Just bear that in mind before purchasing! I've bought a lot of battery-operated fans. This is by far the best item in the collection. I have a solar-powered, 12-volt only home. I require these fans to move heat away from my heating source and downward from the ceiling. They attach with a clip and remain in place. To use them as a ceiling fan, I clip them into the bus hatch. Additionally, they rotate completely in all directions. I've never found a "spinning" fan that accomplishes this. They include a lithium ion rechargeable battery! So you won't need to keep buying triple A batteries or replacing rechargeables that often require a 110 volt source of power. I only have 12 volts, however you can simply recharge these with conventional 110 exactly like you do your phone.Get THIS, you can control the fan's speed! Turn the dial to the highest setting to increase the speed. The fans can operate at their lowest level for roughly 10 to 12 hours before needing to be recharged. In order to keep the warm air moving while I sleep, they will run all night for me. I give them a recharge in the morning. One negative is that you have to assume whether it is charged because the tiny red LED that indicates charging doesn't, for example, turn green to let you know. After 5 or 6 hours of charging, they were prepared to resume their work. My solar batteries were fully charged, and the voltage did not noticeably decrease. They must not require much power to charge as they are 13.7 volts at start and end (I have 3 of them).To have a set operating and a set charging, I'm purchasing 3 more. I'm giddy as hell.

Hot flushes for years and years, on top of the awful humidity This is my new best friend, I promise. I spend 7 months of the year here in humid GA. Naturally, I had my doubts, but I decided to give it a shot anyhow because desperate times need desperate means. The air blows out the top when you hang it over your neck, blowing onto your head and neck. It's quite silent. I'm going to get a couple more for home, the office, travelling, and other uses. I keep this beside my bed every night. I actually like the turbulence noise—which isn't that bad—to drown out the grandfather clock's tick-tock and other chitchat that can prevent one from drifting off to sleep easily. I searched but couldn't locate any little fans with sealed ball bearings (except computer fans).Be aware that these Chinese consumer-grade fans have sleeve bearings and won't last forever. The bearing will stop functioning when the oil evaporates or dries out (particularly in dry areas). That's why, following a negative experience, I would never purposefully leave one running while I left the house. My aging parents were staying with us when the pedestal fan's sleeve bearing broke. They were fortunate to awaken before the bitter smoke caused any significant issues.

I won't write a review if I'm going to lie or am being paid to lie. I used my own money to purchase this item. Experiencing menopause I tried everything, from taking supplements to currently using fans, to try and get some relief from the heat and sweating. I brought a lot of D batteries because I figured the fan would exhaust them quickly (no fan could run for 8 hours, right?!).
