As of right now, the "Product Dimensions of 8.3 x 3.6 x 1 inches" listed on the product page are by no means accurate. Despite Amazon's guarantees that it will fit both my 2001 Ford Ranger XLT AND my Dad's 1985 Ford F150 XLT Lariat, those specifications made me pause for a very long time to purchase this pad. Each vehicle has an automatic transmission.In order for you to compare my rough tape measured dimensions taken when an old pad was on the foot pedal to the new pad in hand measured with calipers, I submitted my own image with the calipers on the real pad I received yesterday and my list of dimensions. I've pasted my list below because Amazon's image was reduced in size to the point where it was difficult to read. The digital caliper reading is clearly visible. The new pad was a great fit for the Lariat's pedal. The box claimed that it would work for my 2002 Honda Civic, however despite my best efforts, I was unable to insert the white code object into the metal hole and push down the plastic object to turn off the brake lights. I'm not sure if it is because I placed it in incorrectly, if I was in the incorrect body position to employ the limited upper body power I have, or if the small white object was a bit too thick to go into the hole correctly and stay there. Fortunately, the service technician fixed it when I had to bring my car into the shop for maintenance.Note(s) for those who are clueless like me:1) You've probably guessed by now that this portion is what turns on your back brake lights even when your car is entirely off if you're reading this. I strongly advise you to glue the old piece back together and install it in order to keep the small plastic button thing pushed until you can replace it in order to prevent your battery from dying if you are like me and have minimal knowledge of auto maintenance.2) Remove the bottom plastic pieces from behind the steering wheel if, like me, you are unsure of where the small plastic button is located. There may probably be components left over after you remove anything that resemble the white component of this kit. The black item is something about which I know nothing at all. You can see a small white button behind the stick that connects to the brake pedal and a hole in the stick that connects to the brake pad if you apply the brakes with your hand and then look behind the stick. In this kit, the little white component is used to press the tiny white button there. The old one can be fixed if you can glue it back together and put it in place until you can buy the part or find someone who knows how to fix it.3) If anyone has connections in the automotive industry, please let them know that this component should probably be made of metal and fused to the brake pedal stick to press in the small button. A small piece of plastic simply will not hold up in the Florida heat, and many people have dead batteries as a result of the lights staying on, which isn't cool because it will probably happen when you are rushing to get to work.
