Despite Amazon's guarantees that it will fit both my 2001 Ford Ranger XLT AND my Dad's 1985 Ford F150 XLT Lariat, those specifications made me pause for a very long time to purchase this pad. Each vehicle has an automatic transmission.In order for you to compare my rough tape measured dimensions taken when an old pad was on the foot pedal to the new pad in hand measured with calipers, I submitted my own image with the calipers on the real pad I received yesterday and my list of dimensions. The new pad was a great fit for the Lariat's pedal. This seems to be a good progression after upgrading to metal brake and accelerator covers! It gives it a wonderful athletic look and blends well with the metal coverings I've already added. This is a thin strip of metal that is taped over the foot rest (a useless pedal). Be cautious when putting it on because the edges are a little pointy. A good look is well worth the few dollars!

These were purchased to replace the worn-out, old pedals in my 1987 Toyota 4Runner SR5, and they exactly match the originals in appearance. I am not a particularly skilled auto mechanic. When I take the car to the mechanic, I will be the one making the noises the car makes. In all honesty, I am not very good at learning about car maintenance, despite my best efforts. I feel quite pleased of myself when I can truly fix anything. I attempted to insert this object into the tiny opening where the other one had disappeared. Since I purchased my vehicle secondhand, I'll assume the part I had to replace was the original. Internet tutorials weren't very helpful in explaining how to replace it or where it actually went, so I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out—which isn't enjoyable or simple in the Florida summer heat. The box claimed that it would work for my 2002 Honda Civic, however despite my best efforts, I was unable to insert the white code object into the metal hole and push down the plastic object to turn off the brake lights. I'm not sure if it is because I placed it in incorrectly, if I was in the incorrect body position to employ the limited upper body power I have, or if the small white object was a bit too thick to go into the hole correctly and stay there. Fortunately, the service technician fixed it when I had to bring my car into the shop for maintenance.Note(s) for those who are clueless like me:1) You've probably guessed by now that this portion is what turns on your back brake lights even when your car is entirely off if you're reading this. I strongly advise you to glue the old piece back together and install it in order to keep the small plastic button thing pushed until you can replace it in order to prevent your battery from dying if you are like me and have minimal knowledge of auto maintenance.2) Remove the bottom plastic pieces from behind the steering wheel if, like me, you are unsure of where the small plastic button is located. There may probably be components left over after you remove anything that resemble the white component of this kit. The black item is something about which I know nothing at all. You can see a small white button behind the stick that connects to the brake pedal and a hole in the stick that connects to the brake pad if you apply the brakes with your hand and then look behind the stick. In this kit, the little white component is used to press the tiny white button there. The old one can be fixed if you can glue it back together and put it in place until you can buy the part or find someone who knows how to fix it.3) If anyone has connections in the automotive industry, please let them know that this component should probably be made of metal and fused to the brake pedal stick to press in the small button. A small piece of plastic simply will not hold up in the Florida heat, and many people have dead batteries as a result of the lights staying on, which isn't cool because it will probably happen when you are rushing to get to work.

Let them air out before putting them in the car, as has been suggested by others. It was difficult to be patient when you wanted to get them put right away, but they didn't smell horrible after being left outside for two days. After a day, I tried to install them, but I couldn't stand the scent. Installing both pedals takes no more than five to ten minutes. I did it twice, and neither time was it difficult (removed them after the first day due to smell). They won't fit snugly if you just force them on. Starting on the right side of the pedal and working your way to the left, you must get that side firmly seated in the grooves before moving around the pedal. I suppose blow drying it before placing it could soften the rubber and make installation simpler. Additionally, you may notice little rubber pieces clinging to the pedal lines. If this bothers you, you can take the majority of these off or carefully trim the extra rubber with a razor blade. Once they are placed, though, you hardly ever see them on the pedal. makes a significant improvement to the car's appearance, particularly after I upgraded my footwell lighting. The same manufacturer offers it at a lower price on eBay, but I didn't want to have to wait weeks for it to arrive from China.

This is the second time I've bought the item. My extremely worn clutch pedal came first. It was ideal for that. My brake pedal pad has also completely worn off about a year later. This was incredibly simple to install and fits flawlessly. Simply remove the previous one and fasten the new one. My daughter is just 4'8" tall, so when she was driving, she was dangerously close to the steering wheel, increasing the chance that the airbag might deploy. I bought these pedal extenders for her 2015 VW Jetta so that she could move the seat a little bit back. In my daughter's case, I only needed to extend the pedals a few inches, so I removed one piece from the break pedal extender to have the right setup. These extenders work perfectly, but obviously some adjustments need to be made before doing the final installation. It is simple to move the pieces (or remove the unnecessary ones) to have the right setup. It is challenging to work in the car's floor under the car board with the seat to your right while installing these extenders, so I advise figuring out the pedal setup before attempting the final installation. Test them out with the driver who will be using them until they are comfortable with the setting, then tighten any pieces that are unrelated to the attach of the extender to the original pedals. Start with the gas pedal. I believe this was the one that took the longest to complete because it was difficult to reach the old pedal and there wasn't much room to tighten the screws. Installing the brake pedal only required me to swap out one of the long screws for one of the shorter ones that were given. Make sure to tighten all the screws firmly! To make sure the extenders were operating well and in case I hadn't installed them properly, I drove the car before my daughter. After conducting many tests, I let my daughter to try it, and she is now overjoyed! She is now operating her vehicle in a "regular" manner and without any issues.Finally, make sure you have the proper tools on hand to tighten your screws, as this will unquestionably facilitate installation. My daughter feels safer not being so close to the driving wheel because these extenders are currently operating flawlessly.

I gambled and got it because it appeared to be an exact replica of the damaged component.
