Anyone who has attempted to cook risotto understands how simple a mistake it is to make. On the first try, this turned out perfectly. I did make a few adjustments, such as using butter instead of olive oil and half a cup of light cream in place of the milk (with water making up the difference as an improv) (very deliberate). Risotto isn't something I always feel like making for my wife and I or just by ourselves. Alesi Risotto cooks in 18 minutes at relatively low heat, for the majority of which time it is largely left unattended. It's a quick and delicious alternative because the cooking only takes around 3 or 4 minutes to prepare before that.The only issue I have is that compared to its rivals, it uses fewer mushrooms. But that can be readily remedied by adding a little bit of dried porcini mushroom (or the fresh kind if you are that lucky). To give it a somewhat more gamey flavor, I also like to add a tiny dab of truffle oil.The rice is of excellent quality, and it almost tastes like my own homemade risotto with porcini. Almost.The portion is adequate for three persons, but not four (and they must not be consumers of "supersized" fast food). Normal people), but it can certainly serve four as a side dish.

As I was adding the boiling water to the bag, I had the thought that it would be useful if they installed a water line somewhere. Since I wasn't carrying measuring cups while camping, I had to make do with guesswork and ultimately used too much water, resulting in risotto soup. Well, while I was stuffing it into the bear box, I noticed that the bag DOES have a thin line that roughly corresponds to the water line on one side of the exterior. Watch out for that, then.
