I have to replace my insulin pump infusion sets every three days in order to avoid infection. Let's assume that is a "suggestion," and occasionally, this lasts for 4 or 5 days. What can I say, I'm a busy man. In any case, the glue on the sets can occasionally become quite sticky and messy during this time and attract dirt like a jar of honey does to a hungry bear. When you peel the set off, it is like a dust and dirt magnet, forming an unpleasant ring of black mess around the outside. In addition, it is a painful ordeal (I am a part-Middle Eastern man with Middle Eastern hair on my Middle Eastern stomach, which can occasionally make the removal process painful). Yes, I am aware that this is probably not as awful as a Brazilian, but come on—this occurs frequently here.)I was interested to learn more about these wipes because, during the entire time I have used an insulin pump, I have only been instructed to use baby oil to remove the adhesive, which can be somewhat effective but messy (especially on hair.) now come the wipes. A short swipe around the exterior of the infusion set is enough to release it from your skin's death hold and make it simple to peel off a side of it. As you continue to wipe as you peel it off, it will be released from your skin painlessly. Any hairs in the path remain rooted, and everything just peels off cleanly. Then, a quick swab over the area were the set was will get rid of any accumulated muck and/or dust and debris that was just shellacked to your skin. I was able to wipe over top of the open hole where the cannula was without experiencing any pain or discomfort because it is really soft and doesn't burn or sting.These are great things. Although they have an odd odor, it is not nearly as offensive as everyone claims. It has a fragrance that is kind of sweet and chemical, somewhat like antifreeze. When you realize how magical these things actually are, it's not that horrible... When placing fresh infusion sets over regions where old ones had to be scrubbed off with soap and water in the shower, I am observing considerably less pain and irritation surrounding the previous infusion set locations.Do yourself a favor and try a box if you are on the fence about purchasing these for any reason. Your viewpoint on removing infusion settings will be altered by it. I've needed IV fluids at the hospital a few times, and now that I've tried these things, I can't believe they don't use them there. They are very cheap, and they would make taking off IV dressings so much easier! If I get into an accident or anything, I might even keep some in my wallet.

The glue remover from Hollister is fantastic! Whether it's a bandage covering a little cut or blister, gauze or tape used to wrap the wound after surgery, or even the electro-pads used in the ER to monitor heartbeat! Everything that once left my skin red, bruised, and occasionally bleeding when removed now easily comes off!When I need to replace bandages and/or tape, I wash over the area where the adhesive was with alcohol and then rinse with sterile saline. The Hollister brand of tape remover comes in a box filled with 50 easy to open, soft pads; they will leave skin feeling "oily." Of course, consult your physician or registered nurse before doing this; it was suggested and is effective for me.Insurance initially paid for adhesive remover; first Hollister, then another brand; the second brand's cloth was abrasive and left scratches on my skin and was difficult to remove tape and bandages off. Thankfully, insurance paid for a second box of Hollister because the RN who first gave them to me didn't know whose brand they were! Once it was discovered that INS only covered the 3 boxes, a buddy advised looking online, asking "Have you used Amazon? I have to wear estrogen patches every day, and despite numerous attempts, I haven't been able to remove the clingy adhesive.I've tried ordinary soap, mineral oil, and coconut oil, but they have all just left me with a rash and scraped skin. My father has a picture line in and is 83 years old. Because he must leave the sticky tape on for a week at a time, EVERY dressing change for him has been difficult on his skin. When the tape was taken off, there were several skin tears and blood bruising beneath the skin. I was unaware that there was a removal solution, and after reading the reviews of several of these items, I decided on this one. It was properly packed and came on schedule. I gave them to the nurse who comes to visit him at home, and she gently saturated the adhesive as the tape was removed. It performed flawlessly. The elderly, who all have this issue due to thin skin, can be treated in a less painful, more professional manner in this fashion. I wholeheartedly urge anyone with a comparable need to do this.

Wow, this material works amazingly well to get rid of glue or tape stains left over from puppy ear setting techniques. The "set" of the ears is defined in the breed standard for many dog breeds. Puppies' bodies use the calcium from their cartilage as they develop and start to teethe to help create strong adult teeth; as a result, their ears shift and require some assistance to stay in the desired "set." In a manner similar to splints or casts, glues, tapes, splints, weights, and a variety of other items are used to help the ears develop an adult look. Yes, this product is functional. So that you are not misled by reviews that have exaggerated expectations for this product, I will explain what this is not and what it is in this review. This adhesive remover is made specifically to take adhesive off of medical tape. When you apply an adhesive remover, it does really leave a residue. The use of an alcohol swab is still necessary if an antiseptic is desired. This is not an antibacterial; it is an adhesive remover. Smooth materials, such cotton balls or cotton swabs, make it challenging to remove anything. Use terry cloth washcloths or exfoliating cotton rounds with a rough surface for optimal results. It doesn't smell horrible, but it doesn't smell like your favorite shampoo's lavender, peach, or strawberry scent. Do not use this if you have a severe allergy or sensitivity to anything. Use acetone if this isn't powerful enough for your needs (fingernail polish remover). This stuff is incredible! It does have a faint smell, but it's not unpleasant. It was a nightmare attempting to take off my daughter's K-Tape and CGM! We tried everything to remove them, but they would stick on so firmly that it would harm her. Now, if we need to replace a site, we soak the K-Tape with this and let it sit for no more than 30 seconds before removing it. Then, to get rid of all the residue, we merely use a wipe with rubbing alcohol! HIGHLY advisable

I primarily use this to clean around my stoma. This product really doesn't function well when using any glue, especially an Eakin Co-adhesive. But once more, it's a fantastic stoma cleaning solution, and Amazon has wonderful prices. Medicare will only cover one kind of adhesive remover at a time, so I get it here.
