I was really shocked by this light in a number of ways. The first is that you may select almost any hue with the dial. not just the primary hues of the rainbow, but also all the shades in between. The gorgeous hot pink hues are my fave. After making color adjustments, you can also do saturation adjustments, which combine the color with white light to soften it if necessary. A brightness adjustment is also included. In order to indicate what mode you are in, the digital display on the back has a resolution high enough to display pictures of police cars, ambulances, or other symbols. Its anodized metal construction makes it heavier than I had anticipated. A second grid and diffuser are also included. The grid and diffuser significantly reduce the amount of light, which is my only gripe. The quality of the light it emits truly astounds me. The one thing I haven't thoroughly tried is the battery life, which is tough to predict because it significantly relies on the setting you have your light at.

This is incredible. The only thing I regret is not getting this sooner. This is over-designed, but in a good way, as you can tell. It's the simple things, like how the light ramps up in brightness as soon as you switch it on to prevent blinding you. You cannot put on the front diffuser upside down because the tiny magnets holding it are reversible. You can really run this lamp all day (or longer as long as it's connected in) because it will operate when it's plugged in.The fact that you've read that physically larger lights would create better light and physically smaller lights like this one will produce hash and unappealing shadows is likely to be your major objection. All you need to do to create a large light source is reflect this light off a wall. There is really no excuse for not having this. I use it as a flashlight while I'm out at night, as well as for photography and filmmaking.

I bought this lamp particularly for late-night paranormal research that makes extensive use of the red lens. All parts were included when the box came on schedule, undamaged, with the exception of the red lens, which is missing two of the four magnets needed for a secure attachment. The light itself is fantastic and simple to operate, however this past weekend when we worked on the former Phelps Dodge Hospital in Ajo, Arizona, I had to tape the red lens on in order to use it. The entire ten hour inquiry was powered by one battery on low, which was ideal for us. I was in awe. I would definitely buy another for the squad.I'd appreciate receiving two replacement magnets or an additional red lens. I've contacted the seller as instructed, but given how pleased I was with the light, I'm going ahead and publishing this review.13 June: The seller is fantastic. As soon as they learned about the red lens problem, they sent me a free replacement lens via mail. Hello everybodyAlthough I'd like to keep this short, I might not be able to.The light is excellent, especially when you consider the cost. Another LED light/kit this bright and well-made for the pricing range WILL NOT be found. I've used a lot of LED light kits, but this well above my expectations. Brightness is present. It is almost entirely made of metal. It is well-balanced, and most importantly, this kit will brilliantly light a scene for you.How long a battery will power one of these lights is something else to consider. I fully charged the batteries after receiving the lights and a box of Neewer NW-F970 6600mah batteries. I put a SINGLE battery on one of the lights, turned the white and yellow lights all the way up, and set the stopwatch. At 58 minutes, there was a little (barely perceptible) dimming of the brightness. At 1 hour and 21 minutes, the light continued to be bright before turning off. At maximum power, that is almost an hour and a half on a single battery. I have heard others mention about obtaining 30 or 45 minutes from a single battery in reviews and videos, and I genuinely believe this is because they are purchasing smaller versions of compatible batteries. They must have different results from mine in some other way, in my opinion. Another test will be conducted shortly, and I'll report back on how long the light will operate with two batteries attached to the back.In any case, get them; you won't be sorry. I had planned to wait and save up over $1k for a quality light kit, but I had to buy a kit sooner than I had intended due to necessity. I don't anticipate replacing my lights anytime soon. They outperform all of my previous bulb and reflector setups.

This light is fantastic for video or photography. Over the past fifteen years, I have purchased a significant number of pricey and crucial A/V items, including home theater gear, without ever having seen them. I did this by reading online Amazon reviews written by previous owners. It's always a positive sign when you notice a trend of references where between 70 and 80 percent gush about something. I didn't even read for very long with this light. It drew my attention when a buyer said early on that it was "shockingly good for the price." I have to concur. Without knowing the price, if I had seen this light in one of my neighborhood pro video or picture stores and had the chance to hold it, turn it on, and get a sense of its technology, I would have estimated it to cost around $150.amazingly wonderful things I'll start with a contemporary full-frame camera with a fantastic sensor, like the Sony A7r III. I rarely require a lot of light to fill a space. But at 100%, it throws a lot in a dim environment. The light's softness and diffusion, as others have stated, are stunning. And when I noticed the light's wide angle throw, my mouth dropped. It's actually between 170 and 180 degrees. I have watched lights on cameras for thirty years, and I have never seen a throw that wide. When light and wide-angle lenses are required for still photography, you can use ultra-wide lenses as long as you don't anticipate their results to work wonders in large spaces. Then, the entirely adjustable by one click or quick spin through the clicks of 3300-5600K, with a supposedly high CRI index. By pressing the same button on the back, the intensity level is covered by that range. And, as someone else mentioned and I confirmed, it does not appear to produce any LED flicker or colored horizontal stripes in the photographs when installed on my camera and tuned to a dim level. Before I noticed it, this had happened to a few pictures taken with the camera set to "Silent Shutter" with another weak LED light. I read on DPReview that if a camera had that option, you had to shoot with a manual shutter and you were then "generally" fine. This was completed a week ago, and until this light arrived, it worked fine.Finally, there is the lovely blue information pane on the back, next to the control button. Always on and attractive to look at, but it also displays all the settings you have selected, including color temperature, light strength (0–100%), and—perhaps most importantly—the amount of energy left in your batteries. Sweet snap in and snap out battery catch that appears to be spring loaded. extremely encouraging and effortless. If I could, I'd give this light 10 stars. Buy at least 1 more, as planned.

These lights I just acquired today. If I remember well, I paid $35 or $36 for them. which equates to about $15 and a few cents per person. They are a lot better than I anticipated they would be, I will say that much. Although the light is really bright, I don't believe that you should utilize solely these lights when you are filming a video. These lights, in my opinion, are more suited for video than for still photography. The lights can be intense, but as long as you're away from your face and they're well-balanced, they should be okay. For my videos, I intend to use a ring light as the side lighting. They won't overheat too rapidly and they will undoubtedly do the task. Although they do support the light, the legs that are supposed to be in the handled section of the light are a touch cheap, and I'm having trouble trying to get them back in. I won't moan because these are excellent and reasonably priced. Be aware that there is no dimmer on these lights. The packaging and handling were excellent; nothing was lost or destroyed.For those just starting out with videos, these lights are excellent. They're inexpensive, and if you take good care of them, I think they'll endure for a very long time.

quick setups! I've used these and professional equipment. I have to admit that using these lights allowed me to accomplish a lot in a short period of time. When placed on supports, they are light, portable, and simple to handle.The first image is from a nighttime shot for which there was no ambient light. I set up a 300W softbox in the background and used 4-5 of these LED lights primarily for lighting. The dimmers are essential since there are instances when you only need to highlight a small portion of the backdrop texture.In the second, I also utilized a second light to call the ambulance, demonstrating how the light functions as an edge/back light. This is where the dimmer is useful. He used two 300w soft boxes as his key. (I'm not suggesting this is a great lighting setup, but I wanted to demonstrate how quick and easy they are to use in a professional setting.)When you're merely shooting pretty static and passive B-roll, you may create flares by shining these lights directly into the camera just off frame. This is something I just recently started doing, as shown in the third and fourth still images. This would be a laborious task with a heavy tungsten light, but since the lights are so light, portable, and dimmable, it only takes a few minutes to achieve a pretty cool effect.If I could go back in time, I would have invested in the F970 batts for a little bit more peace of mind. I have approximately six F550s, which last for about an hour. However, if you're doing any significant shooting and you're trying to move rapidly, it's horrible if you have to pause the interview because you need to change a light's battery.But generally, when used properly, excellent. I always keep three in my light gear.

I have used this as a fill light when the conditions were ideal. It produces strong light and works well with my GH5 camera, which has a crop sensor and terrible low light performance. The blue plastic gel is incredible and incredibly vibrant! Check out the silhouette scene and the one with the dog; I lit up both the artist and the dog's chest with this light while filming a music video using only the blue color! GOOD LIGHT, FOR REALS! In the future, I'll be purchasing another one! For some reason, the other color gels aren't as vivid.

To see if I could utilize one of them for product photography, I bought one. I regret buying the other lights from Amazon because they are not very bright, get quite hot, and are location-restricted because they require an AC power supply. These portable LED lights that can be recharged by a portable battery pack appeared to be just what I was looking for. This is what I have been seeking for thus far. If I could power these lights with a portable battery pack, which I haven't tried yet, that would truly make them the best lighting in the world. The yellow filter doesn't seem to have any impact on the image quality on my Rebel T7i, despite this light's extreme brightness. I believe the white balance is being adjusted by the camera. I will very likely order two or three more, but at the very least, one more.The one drawback I can see with these lights is that if you want to use more than one of them for something like product photography, you'll need to buy stands or tripods for each, which could get expensive. However, since these lights don't actually weigh much, you could buy the cheapest tripods specifically for them. Each is quite lightweight. (I skipped the scale)The ability to order more batteries and an external charger for the batteries in these lights would be beneficial, so please note that to the manufacturer/seller.2017-04-14 Update. These lights cost two more, which I weighed. With the battery inside, they weigh little under 6 ounces. I also tried using these lights without the supplied battery by connecting them simply to an external USB power pack; while they did function, the light was incredibly low, rendering them almost useless. For those of us who wish to be able to use devices for extended durations, I continue to believe that extra batteries and an external charger should be an option.

This tiny light is fantastic and really useful. It's a handy small device with a good battery life, and you can charge it from 0 to 100 in a few hours. The micro-USB charging cable is included, but you have to use your own charging block (i.e. Your iphone wall charging block works just fine.) It's great that it has three distinct brightness levels because you can truly tell the difference between them. When I take close-up shots of handmade jewelry with my iPhone, the usual flash overexposes the images. But whenever I use the Ring Light, the lighting is always perfect and really quick and simple. I shot a few pictures of my dog when I first pulled it out of the box to see how it worked. The first photo of my dog was taken with NO FLASH, and the second photo was taken with my iPhone 7 Plus's Ring Light at its strongest setting (3x). Just in that, you can see a significant improvement! It's easy to use for front or back cameras, has a long battery life, and is quite affordable. Such a great purchase!
