All of my needs are satisfied by this powerful tiny clicker. The Red Star Tec remote was packaged within a soft cover that resembled a bean when it arrived in the mail. Two batteries (not provided) were required, and then I could plug and play. No setup is required. Slide the switch to the "on" position and plug in the USB (which is neatly stored in the remote).I can go around the entire classroom as a university instructor and still operate the remote with ease without even pointing it at the kiosk. It has a red laser pointer built into it (or to wake up errant undergrads). A blackout button on the clicker can be used to clear the screen. Of course there are also left and right buttons. This clicker is fashioned like a bean and is lightweight and comfortable in my hand.Your slide show is finished. Turn to the off position, remove the USB from the computer, slot it in, and zip up the case.Pros: Where have you been for the last ten years that I've been teaching? I can't believe I put off buying something for so long. It is lightweight and can be operated at a good distance from the computer in comparison to other remotes I've used. I cannot comment on it because I do not have to cope with the distances others have described. However, it is faultless at a distance of 10 to 20 feet. My only regret—which is NOT a complaint—is that my most recent iteration of Smartboard does not even remotely display the laser, despite its brightness. the ones that resemble a huge computer screen. Before purchasing this, I did not have a black-out option, and I adore it. The volume control is an added feature that performs admirably. This is a fantastic idea for a smaller classroom.

This remote far exceeds my expectations and has many useful features.This remote requires an additional AAA battery, which is something I failed to discover.This means you don't have to throw it away when the battery runs out of power. First of all, the on/off switch is a good idea because it conserves battery and prevents phantom clicks when not in use. Second, the volume controls work perfectly, even when set to the maximum volume. Finally, it's very lightweight, so even with the battery in place, you won't notice it in your hand or in your pocket.The square button changes the highlight (focus), making this a handy workaround to navigate a presentation or a web page using your remote. The up and down arrows operate in slides and other documents, including the browser.Although the battery life cannot yet be evaluated, you may switch the battery in a matter of seconds.Finally, it appears to be quite stylish and classy.

Excellent value for the money. Batteries appear to last a lifetime. I must admit that I genuinely use it to assist with walking.Yes, of all things, walk.I periodically get stuck when trying to begin walking because I have Parkinson's disease.I can concentrate to try to step on the laser "dot" on the floor by directing and flashing the laser on the ground a few feet in front of me. It dispels the fleeting, mysterious sensation that your feet are fastened to the ground.Or, more precisely, that even if you manage to move one foot, will the rest of your body follow or will you still fall?It requires some practice and functions best when not interrupted. However, I'm fine with doing anything to delay the wheelchair with my name on it.So whatever. If it works for you, taking the first step almost makes you euphoric. However, you must continue and keep your eyes on the goal.As soon as I start moving, I advance the "dot" in the direction I want to go and, in most cases, I'm "off to the races." You may occasionally feel like a cat chasing a beam, but that modesty pales in comparison to the daily serving of humility received by the majority of people with Parkinson's disease.I'm sure it's just a short-term "fix," though. I don't know how much longer my mind will allow me to "fool myself" because I'm still in the early stages of the sickness. However, I've been using it for more than a year.

This DinoFire Wireless Presenter is great, and it about offers everything I could want. Prior to the DinoFire, I had a Logitech, and since the Logitech gained legs, I really didn't want to pay nearly three times as much on something that might one day walk once more. The Logitech was also excellent. The down arrow is the button that advances slides, as other reviewers have pointed out. However, I was aware of this prior to making the purchase, so it wasn't a major concern for me. When I explained to my co-presenter that the down arrow was the progress button, she did give me a strange look. However, I don't believe that justifies a reduction in stars. A button to go to a dark screen is one feature the DinoFire lacks compared to the Logitech. Again, it wasn't a deal-breaker, but it was a good function when I needed it. This presenter has a good range for moving the slides forward and the red pointer. Overall, I would unquestionably suggest.

I frequently misplace the tiny USB components on mice and other devices, but this one has a place built in for it, so I haven't lost it! 3 August 2015. Ordered on August 1, 2015, and received on August 3. The clicker is compact, which I adore. It only one AAA battery to run, though this is not included. I've tested it out so far on Prezi, Smartboard presentations, and Google presentations, and they all use the page up/down buttons to advance to the next slide. If you are in a word document, PDF, or even on an internet website, you may use the same buttons to scroll up and down a page. If you are on a web page, the escape/resume button may be more helpful because it refreshes the page. The red laser is functional, but I will have to utilize it in the school setting for which it was intended. The visible portion of the receiver, which is the topmost receiver in the image, protrudes from the computer by about 5/8 inches and fits into a typical USB port.I'm not sure what to think about the blackout screen feature because everything above was done without using an external monitor. It simply doesn't function on my machine. I'm deducting some stars since I need the blackout screen feature as a teacher until I can test the clicker with an external projector in my classroom. I won't update till I know for sure if I have a faulty unit.Update: from three to five stars 8/22/2015 Regarding the dark out feature, I contacted customer support, and they were really gracious and offered me a replacement item. It is best to spend the money when buying electronics, especially little ones like a presenter. We've previously purchased cheaper clickers, but they're just not manufactured well. They put in some time at work but can't handle a demanding job schedule. Traveling presenters or companies in need of a reliable clicker for their conference rooms will love the Logitech R400.I would consider using one of those super-powered clickers like Tim Cook does for his keynote speeches if you want to speak in the theater.The clicker just functions. Batteries have a long life, so you won't need to replace them frequently. I wholeheartedly endorse this clicker.
