I was holding my breath to see if this brush-on liquid would be the same as what I had previously purchased after purchasing it under several names. The solution is... kind of. The Onyx Professional version has the same harsh flavor, but it's weaker and the polish-like finish doesn't stick to my nails as well. I'm reapplying it for the time being, and while I suppose it's better than nothing, it doesn't seem to be working as well as it did before.If you can avoid tasting it, it will definitely dissuade you. If your fingers accidentally touch your tongue, the first bitterness is minimal, but it soon becomes more overpowering and lingers long enough to serve as a warning not to bite again. Actually, I don't mind that the recipe isn't nearly as effective as the one I previously purchased. My family protested since what I had previously, under a different brand name, was so potent that it contaminated the food I cooked. Biting your nails or, if applied to a toddler, sucking their thumbs, is absolutely discouraged by this.
