SINEX SEVERE has completely changed my life. I have allergies, ongoing nasal congestion, and a deviated septum, so if I use other products, I have to get out of bed several times throughout the night to wipe my nose. All of them—Afrin, Mucinex, Flonase, Zicam, innumerable off-brand medications, generic CVS and Walgreens items, even some Scandinavian goods—have been tested by me. SINEX SEVERE in the glass container is the only product that works well. I can go two weeks on one bottle.This product's glass bottle applicator consistently produces the perfect amount of spray. The SINEX SEVERE that I got in a plastic squeeze container doesn't seem to work as well for me. I have to apply multiple blasts to have the same effect since the mist is too fine. I first learned about this through my nephew. I've used my Neti pot frequently for a while. After doing yard work or working in my wood shop and getting sawdust in my nose, I really rely on my Neti. I just overcame a bad sinus infection, and to clear my sinuses of the heavy mucus, I was using the Neti three to four times day. I apologize; it's graphic, but you get what I mean.I purchased the Alkalol and mixed a small amount with my saline. It was an immediate and calming sensation. As the menthol and other aromatics took over, it initially seemed as though I had rinsed my mouth out with mouthwash. It didn't annoy me or cause me to burn. I think I was able to get rid of more items than before and purge a little more effectively, but how do you quantify that?I upped the Alkalol dosage for my subsequent use and experienced much better outcomes. I'm going to continue focusing on that for a long. Some claim to operate at full capacity, but gosh, that may be too much for me.About 20 to 30 minutes into the aroma's duration, I observed that my sinuses stayed clear for much longer than they would have with simple saline.Alkalol may also be a solution for you if you are using a Neti pot and want to take things to the next level of relief.============Update for October: In South Texas, ragweed season is in full swing, so my neti pot and Alkalol are seeing a lot of use. Relying on Afrin as a daily nasal inhaler is not a good idea. The only medicine that provided relief for my sinus infection, which prohibited me from breathing through my nose at all, was Afrin. I've had recurrent sinus infections for so long that I've lost 90% of my sense of smell, including skunk scent. I have tried everything from saline nasal sprays to allergy relief nasal sprays, steroid nasal sprays for inflammation, mucus relief meds, and many rounds of antibiotics. My allergist prescribed Flonase (regular) to me anyhow because I'm prone to nosebleeds and sensory overload, but I didn't love the smell (and how it kind of post-nasally leaked into my mouth, ick). I have to say that this resolves every issue I had with Flonase that I wasn't even aware of. The bottle's design and operation encourage proper dosage (away from your septum) and make it simpler to use. There is far less residual sniffling, no scent or taste, and the mist is finer and less startling. The cap is safe for travel, and it is simpler to see how much is left. (Again, you do need to grip it firmly; however, this is definitely a good thing for child safety and preventing unintentional falling off.) Although I'm not yet sure if it will stop my nosebleeds, I'll let you know.My advice is to always shake the bottle before opening it, and when you do so, squeeze or pinch the cap rather than pushing it open. Use the opposite hand for each nostril when administering, therefore use the right hand for your left nostril and the left hand for your right. As a result, it will be simple to accidentally aim the spray at your nasal wall rather than the septum.

I've always experienced sinus issues and allergies, particularly to particular grass and pollen. I've tried a lot of over-the-counter medicines, but none of them have really helped me, and several of them contain chemicals that make me feel worse than I did before I took them. I gave it a try because I figured I had nothing to lose, and I was genuinely shocked by the impact it made for me. I particularly appreciate that I may use it as frequently as I need and that it is drug-free. It not only provides immediate relief, but I've found that with continued usage, it seems to have lowered the severity and frequency of my overall sinus troubles. I use it more during "allergy season," but I use it all year long. I favor the (extra strength Nighttime Relief plus Eucalyptus version). I will caution you, though, that some people may feel a burning sensation while using the eucalyptus, but you won't with the basic saline version. I had been clearing my airways with the bottle's "irrigator." Given my severe allergies and my busy 5-year-old, you can only imagine how frequently I am sick with some horrible, snot-filled disease each year.For a while after I started using the bottle irrigator, I wasn't really sure if it was effective or not. The traffic had returned after an hour, so I did it once more.When I went to take out the trash, I found this item that I had forgotten I had ordered it on my doorstep.I thought, "Wow, what a great chance to see if that other bottle is lacking anything in terms of the snot and crud in my poor nose."I beam it up then entered the bathroom and started irrigating. I must warn you that I am somewhat of a sissy when it comes to this sort of thing since I am one of those people who believes she has a right to unrestricted comfort at all times.When I first started doing this, I noticed something was off when I looked in the mirror. Then! It could hardly make it out of my nose as it just chugged out. some enormous "thing." Then! WATER SPRAY. Ugh! utterly repulsive. Additionally, I recommend the nasal gel made by the same manufacturer if you routinely irrigate on high polen days. The overwashed tissues are delightfully calmed by it.
