After reading some of the evaluations, I was pleasantly delighted by the specimen. The specimens are well-made, clean, neatly packaged, and labeled. Some of the slides were disliked by some people, I discovered. They were all extraordinary in my opinion! The hair slides do not all have the same appearance, as someone said in their review. You will notice a significant difference in the level of detail if you use a duo-scope microscope (I have a My First Lab Duo-Scope and love it! ), which enables you to view the slides with light coming from both above and below. Some of the slides appear a little monotonous when viewed in the light coming from below. However, the detail is astounding if you use the light coming from above the slides. Before the kids arrived, my husband and I checked out all the slides, and we were blown away! The hair samples also looked fantastic. The ant slide was our favorite; such attention to detail! I believe that the type of microscope being used has something to do with the variations in what other reviewers observed.Two boxes of six slides each contain the 48 specimens, which are divided into six separate groups. PROS: Excellent packaging, great samples, and I adore the box they arrive in with their exterior-finished wood. Each slide has a slot, and if you remove more than one slide from a box, the label on the bottom identifies the slide that belongs there so you know where to put it back. This suits me well because I like to keep things organized, especially when it comes to samples including plant and animal tissue.They arrived a little dusty. There was definitely a dusty texture on each slide, however I'm not sure if that was from the wood or the foam protective sheet that lines the top of the box. It was simple to remedy this. I swept off the dust with one of my soft-bristled water-color paintbrushes. The slides weren't scratched, and nothing was left behind.

As a Christmas present for my almost 8-year-old niece, who had decided this year that she was much too old for "toys" and had graduated to wanting more "big girl" gifts, I bought this set to go along with a PBOX Microscope Science kits for kids microscope Beginner Microscope Kit LED 100X, 400X, and 1200x Magnification kids science toys, red. My wife and I were a little worried that we had overreached with her age when she first took a few moments to unwrap the gifts, but as soon as she realized what she was seeing, she was all in!We had to assist with the early learning curve since, for some strange reason, this 7-year-old wasn't entirely comfortable with lab equipment, but once you get over that small obstacle, your curiosity soars! She immediately transformed from a young child unwrapping presents to a curious scientist who explained to the entire family each new slide that was being examined.The slides are made of genuine glass, with edges that have been scraped down to reduce the risk of cutting oneself, and are packaged in a solid wood case to keep them safe and arranged.My primary criticism of the slides is that while it's wonderful for my niece to see many unusual species, many of them aren't things she can easily recognize or comprehend, which dampens her joy a little bit (e.g. aqustio nymphaea). And to be really honest, some of the slides were just so far outside of the realm she could relate to that they lost their appeal even after the adults in the room admittedly looked some of these up and tried our best to explain. First of all, after looking elsewhere, this package offered the greatest variety for the best price, and I loved it for the price. The slides are compatible with both the children's microscope shown above and more traditional microscopes. The fact that they are constructed of plastic rather than jagged, breakable glass is one of their better features. My main issue with this product is the way the slides are packaged within the boxes; it's really challenging to get them in and out. If you put your slides in a container or case, though, this isn't a problem. I believe that if the manufacturer packaged the slides better, the price would go up. This is a fantastic product all around, especially for gifts. In the future, I hope they release additional variations for me to buy; one made with human skin cells would be cool.

I have nothing unfavorable to say about them. These were purchased for my 7-year-old son, who adores science. Even though we haven't examined them all yet, the ones we have are excellent. The fact that they are colored is good since it makes it simpler to locate the precise area on which to focus the microscope. Hope that was useful.

This collection of prepared slides is a great place to start for the young child using her brand-new Amscope microscope. For safety considerations, slides are created on plastic slides and taped down to hold them in place, which is not ideal for clarity. When using tape to secure the slide, a bubble forms on it that slightly skews the image when examined under a microscope. This is the main reason I awarded this 4 out of 5 stars even though it's not a deal breaker. With the sections being thick enough to prevent the tape from laying down smooth on the slide, it is challenging to obtain a clear image, especially of the bug body area.I'd want to note that I mistakenly received two sets of slides, and when I informed the vendor about the oversight, they swiftly handed out the missing slides. That exhibits excellent customer service.

This set of slides is quite excellent and comes in a sturdy package. The box includes a tiny lock that keeps it from accidentally opening. The hinges that connect the box's two sides are bolted in, not just glued. To safeguard the slides, the lid's interior is lined with foam. On a small piece of paper that fits into the box lid is a list of the specimens that are included. Since I assumed the box would be larger when I received the slides, I took images of it next to a ruler. Because it demands less storage space, I'm delighted it isn't. These slides are appropriate for use in the classroom or by someone with a home microscope. Last year, we gave my 8-year-old granddaughter a microscope, but she didn't have many slides, so I bought these for her. She is ecstatic about it. I unequivocally advise purchasing this item.

I was hoping this would be better after hearing accounts of other goods having problems with broken slides, subpar samples, etc. It truly exceeds my expectations; there are no broken slides, and each and every person is a superbly prepared AND mounted specimen. I did need to use a blower brush to clear some dust from a few, but it wasn't a major deal. Slides fit smoothly in the box and were already in the right slots—they weren't messed up. I didn't come across any boring slides; in fact, many of them are excellent and fascinating to examine and take in all the lovely detail. I had a great time looking through all 100 of them and taking pictures of my favorites. Additionally, I observed that they didn't try the simple solution of sneaking in a lot of simple for them, uninteresting to us specimens. There are a few, but they are all fine.The last piece of advice is to choose this collection of samples, which is fantastic because it covers a variety of topics.Robert Berta
