I was eager to put this case to the test. I wanted to protect my pricey stethoscope because it is placed in my nursing backpack. As a private duty pediatric nurse, I pack my backpack with everything I need for a 12-hour shift. Just hoping nothing would happen, I threw it into my luggage. I came across this case and determined that I wouldn't lose much money considering the cost. The first thing I saw straight away was how strong the case was. The zipper is smooth and doesn't stick. The downside is that the side-mounted handle's loop design does not function as a zipper. It also has a handle that clips on. It took me a while to notice this and decide to utilize the smaller zipper rather than reaching for the lengthy string. The case is fantastic, and my scope fits within flawlessly. The additional storage compartments on the interior, where my pupil gauge, scissors, and an extra pen fit, are my favorite feature. It's been put in the bottom of my backpack with a few books on top, including a lunchbox, a talbots, and a drug book. It has never been crushed or dented. It went as predicted. While mine didn't smell, it did have some handling marks on the interior swade-like material that suggested it had been opened earlier, which I don't mind at all. The unknown. It is bigger than I anticipated, but it's about the same size as a different brand that a buddy of mine owns. It has enough space for everything I need for my clinical rotation, and once I take my equipment out and start my day at the hospital, I like to put my keys and wallet inside. On the advice of a different medical professional at the hospital where I work, I purchased this. I cherished the idea of doing without my stethoscope around my neck. In addition to the apparent danger of a dangling stethoscope smacking patients in the face while bending over, the oils from your neck can eventually corrode the tubing, and I'd like to stay as far away from that as possible. The reason I gave this product four stars is because how far your stethoscope's tubing extends from your diaphragm will affect how flat it rests against your body. My stethoscope is more expensive, and the tubing sticks out from the diaphragm at a slight angle. This causes the tube to protrude from under my scrubs and is embarrassing because it doesn't just hang down naturally. An image from one of the earlier reviews shows the tubing looped over the top and then put into the holder. I perform this, and it lies more flatly. I don't have a problem with it keeping in place in either position, but the looping makes the stethoscope lay more flat on my outer thigh, keeps me from tripping over it as I walk, and keeps me from appearing to have a tail. In any case, this is a wonderful, affordable addition to my medical supplies.
