(CAUTION: This is a thorough analysis of Encha matcha tea. I wrote this for others who, like myself, are looking for the best matcha to buy as an investment. I deliberately go into detail in order to present facts that will aid in purchasing decisions. See the part titled "THE BOTTOM LINE" if you'd prefer a concise summary.THIS REVIEW WAS COMPLETED ON A PRODUCT I BOUGHT AT FULL PRICE AS A CONSISTENT CUSTOMER.———————I have to be completely honest with you—I actually don't like green tea. I simply don't enjoy it. It didn't appear to matter whether the food was flavored or not. I tried everything to prepare green tea the perfect way, but I usually just don't like it. I prefer a green and white jasmine tea blend, but it's not quite pure green, so it definitely doesn't count. Why then am I attempting matcha? Let me explain.Experience with matchaI recently discovered a tea company that makes teas I adore. Matcha was therefore on sale, but it was STILL pricey. I choose to research matcha. I did my homework, studied what to look for, and resolved to only try Japanese matcha.I gave a few a shot here and there, but they had an awful bitter taste that left me wondering why anyone would spend any money at all on that. At a store, I came across a small tin of PREMIUM organic GO MATCHA that was on sale, so I purchased it. The date was quite fresh, it was from Japan, and it cost only $5. They did not purchase it because no one in our neighborhood knows anything about such things. Does matcha have a flavor like that by design? Blech.HOW DOES ENCHA MATCHA FEEL?I kept trying matcha even though I was starting to lose interest in it since I don't tend to let things rest until I have thoroughly investigated them. I measured carefully, set the temperature between 170 and 160, and then carefully frothed it before drinking it. I've only ever tried ceremonial or premium quality; if that's high end, I'd rather not see low end.I made the decision to buy the Encha and give matcha one last shot. I was surprised to find what I initially believed to be a myth when I opened the package. This powder is a stunning spring green that almost looks neon. I've heard matcha is supposed to look like THIS. The aroma is really beautiful, and the powder is quite fine. It makes me think of Japanese Green Magma and a few other green drink supplement powders I've purchased over the years from Swanson Vitamins.HOW DO YOU PREPARE THIS MATCHA?Let me first describe the process I used to make this matcha.I boiled the water to 160 degrees and added 1/4 teaspoon of matcha (rather than the customary 1/2 teaspoon) to a cup.-I used the Cafe Casa Milk Frother 2 Speed Handheld Drink Mixer - Stainless Steel - With 2 AA Batteries Included to add roughly 4 ounces of water to the matcha (I did not sift) (Silver)-I drank the tea very quickly.I occasionally add a little more water on top and occasionally not. It depends on how weak I want my tea that day. This matcha tastes great. The foam on top is less, but still quite good, because I frequently use a little less powder than is advised. The tea is delicious on its own. There were no lumps, no issues at all when mixing it with water, and WOW was the flavor. I have to admit that this matcha is far superior than all the others I've tried. It is incredible.WHAT TASTE DOES THIS MATCHA HAVE?This matcha tastes the most like Japanese Green Magma, the original Japanese powder in the glass jar, which is prepared from young barley leaves. It is an excellent green, not bitter, and has a lovely combination of sweetness and green. In actuality, there was ZERO bitterness in this tea. Astringency and greenness are perfectly balanced. Unquestionably perfect. When I had finished, it didn't leave a nasty aftertaste in my mouth like so many matchas do to me. It also didn't feel like someone had drained the water out of my mouth. It was more of an enjoyable memory that makes me grin.WHAT EFFECT DOES THIS TEA HAVE ON ME?Caffeine, which may be found in both tea and coffee, bothers me. I try not to do it. I have to avoid it and only seldom consume it because it hurts and buzzes me so much. But this tea has an intriguing effect on me. It facilitates the capacity to concentrate during the entire day and provides an extra dose of the sometimes elusive tranquility and grounding. This is the first tea I've had that had this level of balance, and I'm aware that L-theanine is responsible.Even if I might not eventually have it every day, I sure am loving it right now! The outcomes are extremely lovely.THE CONCLUSIONI must admit that I can now understand why matcha tea is so popular. There is no denying the superior quality of this tea. That is HARD to achieve, but it made me a green tea hater into a green tea lover. The powder has a striking bright green color, a flavor and perfume that are the ideal balance of sweet greens and astringency, and it mixes seamlessly with water. I must admit that this gives me incredible focus and centering, and I will probably continue purchasing it frequently. It is very amazing information.RATINGIf I could, I would give this ten stars. If anything changes or if I have anything further to say about this fantastic tea, I'll update.

Jade Leaf Matcha products have passed my baking test, and I also compared their Classic and Premium grade matcha. Making Matcha Red Beam Mousse (a no-bake dessert), Matcha Fresh Cream Swiss Roll (a cake recipe), and Matcha Snow Cap Char Siu Bao will serve as the basis for this test (Roast Pork Bum - Bread making). As you can see, the seller's products seem noticeably green in the cake and mousse and quite green in the bread. When hot water is first mixed with the Classic and Premium grades, a clear color difference can be seen, with the Premium showing a deeper green (photo). However, the color difference is negligible when combining with the batter or whip cream, even though you can still distinguish the slightly different shade of greens. After heating, I found no aroma or flavor differences between the Premium and Classic matcha. After mixing with hot water, I did observe that both grades of matcha did contain insoluble dark green tea particles; this is certainly for culinary use and not for brewing matcha tea. Both the Classic and Premium grade matcha from Jade Leaf, in my opinion, yield a pleasing shade of green when baked goods and mousse are involved. For domestic usage, however, I believe the Classic would be adequate, and the extra cost may be justified for commercial use, particularly for smoothies and other liquid items.Note: No post-processing of the colors was done to the Samsung S7 photographs.

Before Tevanna Tea closed its doors, I discovered this there. When I discovered that Amazon sold it, I was overjoyed. I enjoy blending it in the Ninja with very vanilla soy milk. It blends smoothly and has the consistency of a foamy latte. After mixing it, I heat it for only 45 seconds, and yeah, I'm in heaven. It has the right amount of creaminess and a nutty, sweet flavour. Every day I drink this, and I'm appreciative of the money I save by making it at home rather than going to a coffee shop. I appreciate that this Matcha green tea mix is organic and does not taste bitter in comparison to other Matcha green tea blends.

This matcha tea has a fantastic price. I've tried it on its own, in smoothies, and in latte drinks. This matcha is Sencha tea from China. I also tried a matcha from Japan that costs four times as much but is divided into ceremonial and culinary portions. Actually, I like this matcha more for blending. The costlier one is consumed on its own without the addition of milk or sweeteners because of its lighter green hue and more delicate flavor. As you aren't seeking for color and flavor when using matcha in lattes and smoothies, you are better off using a lower grade of matcha. The flavor is being masked by milks and sweets. Save money and take advantage of matcha's advantages. Contrary to what one reviewer claimed, this tea is Sencha tea, which has a different hue than oxidized tea and is the reason it is browner in color. Tencha tea is the more costly Japanese matcha. As most tea experts will advise, Sencha matcha is far less expensive and will provide you with more flavor if you plan to bake with matcha or make smoothies. It's just a different tea, so just because it's brown doesn't mean it's horrible. Pick one after trying a few and seeing which one you prefer. I enjoy drinking Japanese matcha by myself. In my smoothies, I use Chinese matcha. Both offer the same advantages to you.One reviewer purchased five different matcha grades and gave each one five stars. He was accurate. The ones that were less expensive were actually fairly decent for the cost. These evaluations, written by Americans who have little knowledge of tea, include a lot of inaccurate information. Look up tencha matcha and sencha. The differences and reasons why one is more expensive than the other are explained in the text. There is nothing wrong with choosing a Ford over a Mercedes if it fits your budget. similar to tea. Whatever you choose to brew will still provide health advantages because tea is tea.

I wish reviews and ratings for each flavor could be done separately. Nearly all of the ones I've ordered so far I've loved, although a few stand out as being below par with the others.Sun, Moon, and Stars - Sadly, this combination is terrible. Because oolong processing differs from that of other teas, the oolong dominates everything. Before steeping for tea, oolong is supposed to be pre-soaked to get rid of the musty scent. Presoaking also eliminates most of their flavor, notably the jasmine blossom fragrance, since it is combined with the much softer green and jasmine teas.Pumpkin Spice - When brewed with water, this mix tastes rather blah, but the flavors sound like they may work nicely with milk, so I plan to give that a try before judging it negatively.Orange Spice: Delectable but really strong. This is excellent if you want a robust cinnamon tea with hints of other festive tastes.Apple Cinnamon: Very little fruit flavor, mild cinnamon flavor. Good but not outstandingEarl Grey Red: Very flavorful and robust earl grey flavor.English Breakfast - As expected, a wonderful, strong black tea. Though there was a little musty flavor, it wasn't horrible. Although I'm used to Bigelow and Twinning varieties, which don't have the musty flavor, I actually prefer Davidson's because the flavor is superior overall. It's peppermint, that's for sure. Clean, energizing, and cool—just how it ought to be.Chamomile has delicious, naturally sweet honey tones. Perfect!Spring Fruit

I have been purchasing this product from Davidson's and Amazon for years, and it is always lovely and delectable. However, as of my July 2016 Subscribe and Save shipment, the product is completely different and of worse quality. I contacted Amazon after receiving the incorrect package, requested a refund, and let them know that the product's quality and out-of-the-ordinary appearance alarmed me. The tea was the same as it always is, a deep red rooibos with a great vanilla flavor, so I placed an order with Davidson's directly after that. My Subscribe and Save order for August has just arrived, and once again, it is a completely different product. It looks pale, green, and white, nothing like rooibos tea. Although I'm not really sure how one can tell when that has been done, I would strongly advise against getting it until this defective batch in Amazon's inventory is replaced. Be careful what you buy, and before you decide that you detest this tea, you might want to purchase it directly to discover what it actually tastes like.**Update 4/17/2017: I just ordered this product again and received the right tea, so it appears that the issue has been resolved.**
