Best Mac Game Headsets in 2020

PS4 Gaming Headset with Mic, Beexcellent Newest Deep Bass Stereo Sound Over Ear Headphone with Noise Isolation LED Light for PC Laptop Tablet Mac (Blue) Review:

Got these gaming headphones for my son who by the way is picky. His favorite color is blue so that was perfect how it glows on the side and the mic. It looks so cool. What was also nice it came with an extender usb cable. That was a plus because he likes sit far from his Game system. He has been on his game the whole day and the noise canceling is great. How I know? I keep calling his name he can’t hear me. Lol
These are perfect and the price was the best part. My son is happy so that makes me happier. I will definitely recommend these to my friends.
My son is 18 so if he is happy with these they must be great.

Beexcellent Gaming Headset for PS4 Xbox One PC, Noise-Isolation Headphones with Microphone Stereo Surround Sound for Mac Laptop Review:

The market for most anything today is flooded with options. More often than not, the phrase "you get what you pay for" has proved true. However, it does occur occasionally that I will be pleasantly surprised by a product that is low priced, but has the qualities of higher priced models. I believe this to be one of those occasions.

I was looking for a headset to use while gaming. To be fair, I don't consider myself to be a hard-core gamer. Therefore, my marathon gaming sessions (lasting longer than a couple of hours) don't happen often. But, I did want a headset I could use to mask the sounds of daily life around me while providing me with good sound quality. They needed to be adjustable, and I wanted a set of features such a physical mute switch, volume control, and a cord that wouldn't cause shorts in the wire if it caught pulled on accident.

Enter the Beexcellent gaming headset. First impressions told me that I was going to be comfortable wearing it. The headset is deceptively lighter than it looks like it will be. The casing for the ear units is a bit bulky for my taste, but that is most likely due to the styling design. I can be fairly certain that they don't need to be as large as they are for functionality. Such is the case for many things these days.

Connecting to the computer was simple enough -- plug the microphone into the microphone port, plug the audio into the audio port. There's a third cord: the USB plug. At first, I assumed that was a different connector if I didn't want to use the standard 3.5 mm jacks. However, the entire purpose of the USB plug is to power the lights on the headset. This is where my first complaint comes in. I don't mind the lights, but it does take up a USB port, and because most USB ports on modern systems are considered active (still give power when the computer is off), the lights remain on even when I've shut down my computer. It's an annoyance that forces me to leave the USB unplugged. That's OK because I don't require a series of lights on my head. The headset is adjustable through standard conventional means, and there is a thick pad on the portion of the headset that goes on top of your head. The pad is thick, but quite soft and squishes easily. The padding around the ears is comfortable and remains comfortable even after wearing for a couple of hours.

There were no issues at all with getting the sound setup. After plugging in, I ran some sound tests to get the volume adjusted appropriately. The headset doesn't get excessively loud. In fact, I've turned up the volume to the highest setting while gaming, and while it was what one might describe as loud, it was not painfully loud. I won't take away from the score for that, as some people actually prefer that as a precaution. The microphone sensitivity is a bit lacking and I found myself speaking a bit louder to ensure that I could be heard. Some of that will come from adjusting the microphone location in the right position front of your mouth. The unit does have a rather large volume switch on the cord. This is also where the mute switch is located. Like the ear pieces, it seems a bit larger than it needs to be, but it's not a burden.

To test the sound quality, I boosted the volume and started a game that I know has a lot of ambient sound: The Division 2. There was a discernible difference in tones depending on actions in the game, and the headset reproduced those tones without sounding audibly fake or forced. Whether it was the sound of garbage underfoot, footsteps, the wind blowing through trees, or activity in the world, the headset not only produced them to a quality that is commendable, but it was better than what I expected, including knowing in game where the sound was coming from. Was it perfect? No. There were some times that I felt the sound could be more crisp and natural. There were not any crackles, hisses, or drop outs. I can't expect perfection from budget audio. However, this is the best headset I've ever tried at this price point.

In summary, this headset is worth the price being paid. Skip the other budget headsets. This is the one that you want.

Pros: Comfortable, adjustable, sound quality is very good, long braided cord, easily adjustable microphone, has a physical volume and mute switch, comes with multiple adapters.
Cons: USB just for lighting effects (lights are bright and on all the time), styling seems excessively bulky (though not to an extreme degree), audio is great, but not perfect.

Beexcellent USB Gaming Headset for PC, 7.1 Surround Sound Computer Gaming Headphones, PC Headset with Noise Canceling Mic Volume Control LED Light for PC Mac Laptop Review:

Ok, Review of the Beeexcellent USB Headset. First impressions, they look good and have a quality feel to them. The braided cord is nice, and they are a true USB plug and play in that I did not have to install any drivers. (Windows 10 PC).

Set up was a non-issue, plugged in and they worked. The Blue lighted sides made my gamer son actually said they were cool. (This is an impressive comment from him, trust me!)

All of the controls worked well and allowed me to adjust volume, mute the headset, and turn off the LED lights from the cord.

I used three songs to evaluate the sound, The Sound of Silence by Disturbed, Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You, and Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner.

The overall sound quality was well above average, with most notes sounding crisp and clean. The bass was not as deep or hard-hitting as I like, but it was quite acceptable; remember, these are not $600 Bose headphones. Each song sounded good, and even with the volume up to 80/100%, I did not experience any distortion.

For gaming, I tested with Fortnight and Call of Duty. Both worked well, and the other players said I sounded good with no issues. Mute button worked during gameplay. I really liked that the microphone folds up snug against the headphones, not in the way when not used.

I wore these for over four hours while testing, and I can say that they were comfortable. The earpads and head pad are very cushy.

As for the noise cancellation, I honestly did not even think about that until my wife tapped me on the shoulder, since with them on, I didn’t hear her trying to get my attention. So, with that information, I would have to say yes, noise cancellation works! She said she even yelled before tapping me, and I did not hear her. The volume was at about 40/100 when this occurred.

So, the overall review is would I buy these again? Yes, I feel they are more than worth the price paid and feel that the value and quality are far above what I expected for sub-$30 headphones. I cannot speak to longevity yet but will post after some time using these.

RUNMUS Gaming Headset Xbox One Headset with 7.1 Surround Sound Stereo, PS4 Headset with Mic & LED Light, Compatible with PC, Laptop, PS4, Xbox One Controller(Adapter Not Included), Nintendo Switch Review:

Bought this for the PS4. Amazing sound quality for the price. I love how long the cable is, and the extra cushion which adds comfort when playing for extended time.

My only issue is the usb cable for the light which I don’t use, it just hangs there but rarely gets in the way. I ended up sticking it to the Velcro and extra cable length.
Overall great product, would recommend to all gamers on a budget.

RUNMUS Gaming Headset Xbox One Headset with 7.1 Surround Sound Stereo, PS4 Headset with Noise Canceling Mic & LED Light, Compatible with PC, PS4, Xbox One Controller(Adapter Not Included) Review:

These are the single best pair of headphones I have ever used in my life. They are bulky, strong, soft on the ears, beautiful, top quality for the dollar.

The sound: It does not oversell the surround sound, you will hear everything from every direction as if you were in the battlefield of the badlands. The quality of sound is beautiful as well, not muffling or diluting despite size, crisp and fresh. Noise cancellation? You'll be able to hear enough outside to make sure no one is going to play a game of SAW with you but give you peace of mind. Want more control of volume? No sweat, it comes with a small volume wheel.

The mic: Wonderful work of art. Ignores outside sounds (except mechanical keyboard clicks of a certain type, those are loud.) You will be heard clearly, you will be clearly understandable and able to communicate with the most effect compared to other headsets, and is good at making sure only you are heard. Need to insta-mute that mic? It comes with a button that turns it off before anyone can hear what's going on.

How does it feel? It surrounds and cups the ear, instead of pressing tightly against the tips and giving those horrible headaches. It gives your ears breathing room and the protein foam for the top of your skull is so pleasant that you can easily forget it's even there. The mic is comfortable to move around without getting in my way. Out of mind, the only thing you'll focus on is the sound blessing your ears. Want to wear it for three days in a row in your chair without visiting the bathroom and having a system of snacks and drinks at your desk for that ultimate WoW session? Go right ahead, it won't feel any different than when you put it on to begin with.

Will they break easily? NO. These things are built like tanks for your skull, if you drop it, it will brush it off and laugh at the poor attempt to even crack it. This thing might even be a good tool for self defense with how strong it is, these aren't poor quality materials.

How does it look? It looks like you're about to perform an impossible feat on your new favorite game. It's beautifully designed, has a red glare that will bring fear into your fellow gaming buddies when you hear their every breath in the game. They are equipped for any situation, they are scary to be against, and highly fashionable to show off and brag to your fellow gamers on Twitch and Steam. They are thick, but that makes this beast seem even bigger and more dominating than those sad little Skullcandy mobile headphones.

What can I use it on? If it has either a USB port or can take those little round plugs, congratulations, this works on it. PC is what I use it on, but if I wanted to I could use it on any other single device a gamer could ever imagine using. Even old systems take this beast and let them in, it is perfect.

Price vs Quality: Anything that claims to be better will either be a liar or something extraordinarily developed and thus be very costly. This competes with other more costly "top rated" headphones. This packs the features, the looks, the comfort, and the durability all for a considerable price that anyone would be right to simply choose this on first sight. I almost was a foolish mortal and thought about others, but no, I made the right choice to take this set and buy it. If it ever breaks I will be surprised and heartbroken. It has improved everything in my games, I cannot possibly appreciate any headphones more than this.

You will regret not knowing what beauty is here before you by buying some lame headset for more of a price, because I feel very comfortable that this one will certainly out compete it without a SINGLE QUESTION. Buy it sooner than later, TREAT YOURSELF. I will be getting another for my brother without a doubt.

Turtle Beach Recon 70 Gaming Headset for PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile - PlayStation 4 Review:

I bought this on a budget to replace my PS4 Gold Series headset. To compare: Pros: the Recon 70 is lighter and more comfortable, doesn't require separate charging (wired to controller) , I prefer its volume control wheel vs PS Gold buttons, flip-to-mute Mic works well and overall sound quality is good. Cons: The sound is not as good as the dynamic surround sound of the PS Gold, and there is no chat volume control like on the PS Gold = if your friends Mic volume is low, you will not be able to hear them very well without asking them to adjust their Mic volume.

Turtle Beach Recon 70 Gaming Headset for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mobile - Xbox One Review:

It’s a good headset. The sound is very clear and crisp, but the bass is pretty weak. Headset doesn’t feel heavy, so that’s good. Material feels cheap compared to a $20 headset I bought before.

Update: the mic is pretty good as I used it for the Xbox one, but on the ps4 it makes you sound a bit quiet. Also, even though flipping the mic back and forth to mute and unmute is fun and unique, I still would’ve preferred a normal mute/unmute switch on the cable.

BENGOO V-4 Gaming Headset for Xbox One, PS4, PC, Controller, Noise Cancelling Over Ear Headphones with Mic, LED Light Bass Surround Soft Memory Earmuffs for Mac Nintendo Switch Games Review:

These headphones were a little bit of a gamble for me to buy. I wasn’t exactly sold on any specific brand or style except for surround-sound noise canceling headphones I could use for gaming. They have been reliable and worth every cent spent up until recently when they randomly stopped working. I mainly used these for Fortnite, PUBG, GTA V, RDR2 and similar. I would recommend these as great beginner headphones/headset! Ultimately, their priced a little below their actually quality so they can be a bit of steal! If you want serious gaming headphones then expect to match their price. I’m just a competitive gamer (no ninja or twitch streamer) that wanted a better gaming experience and these did the job while they lasted. I’ll be buying a different pair to replace them if I can’t find a solution to why they suddenly stopped working. I’m assuming like most electronics these have reached their electronic “shelf-life”.

Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 50P White Stereo Gaming Headset - PS4 and Xbox One (compatible w/ Xbox One controller w/ 3.5mm headset jack) Review:

Overall, these are nice and are worth the price. However the biggest drawback for me(strictly opinion) is the sensitivity of the mic.
Pros:
-The headphones are very comfortable to wear and the ear cushion are nice and feel like they have good build quality.
-The headphones are adjustable in many places so that you have a perfect fit and they don’t feel awkward.
-The control panel (or whatever that thingy is, where you adjust the volume and stuff) isn’t bulky and clumbersome.
-The mic is removable which is great if sometimes I just want to listen to music. I can. And there volume, treble and bass, is great.
CONS:
-The microphone is really sensitive. This is one of my cons however, other people can like microphones to be like this. When I play I solve it by keeping the mic far away from me but still then you can hear background noises in my 7-people household easily.
-There could be better noise cancellation. The ear cushions don’t offer much noise cancellation and I will sometime hear something outside the game goin on in my house, and think it’s in-game. This is made up for because the volume is plenty loud and not everyone lives in a menagerie like me.

Overall these are great and the only drawbacks are opinionated or circumstantial. Although the noise cancellation could be a lot better, other than that everything is fine, especially for the price. And that’s why I’m giving it 5 stars.
