My kid brought the dreaded vampire in her scalp home in September. Our adventure will never end since I only noticed it because of the way the light fell on her head. When compared to typical lice shampoo, this appears to work.So far, this is the best treatment I've ever received.I live with five kids, and once the school year begins, lice is a real problem. So I think I have a solid understanding of this gross lice removal thing coming from a mom who needs to use it repeatedly to get all the kids.Pros: -It functions! Other shampoos we used frequently left lice alive while we were brushing them out. When performing the after-shampoo comb out, not a single insect was alive.-The smell is not offensive. (I disagree that it smells "great," as some reviewers claim, but it is tolerable for the task at hand.)-Comb is strong and reusable. For children with thick hair, I would use several disposable combs for a single comb-out.Cons: The application advice is genuinely useless. To get the gel to come out, you have to squeeze really hard while holding the container at an odd angle (like downward, not like you're combing your hair). AFTER that, rub it through your hair. I ultimately just applied it by hand, as I would with other shampoos. That much plastic just seems to be wasted. I'd rather pay less and omit the applicator tip you'll already be throwing away.-hair becomes GREASY. similar to sooooooo oily I know this is probably how it works, however it is not as simple to rinse off as they claim, and the hair is left with an awful oily residue for DAYS. Update 2019: Daughters utilized this during numerous lice outbreaks in their classroom and throughout elementary school. They never acquired lice. have attended sleepovers when one of the kids called the next day to tell me they were gone (not mine had lice). Still haven't understood it. This year, daughters started middle school. We should be fine to go at this point, so I told them to resume using "regular" shampoo. Daughters have lice now, ugh. It's a good idea to have this set on hand in case. Last year, we went through two cycles of lice since the school wasn't vigilant about informing parents, so it merely spread from person to person. I like that I can use the foam multiple times without having to worry about the other products' chemical burns or odor. Please understand that mechanical means—lots of hard work and patience—is the ONLY true approach to get rid of lice. This set's included comb is excellent and functional. It retrieved the brand-new, teeny-tiny hatchlings that the nurse's electronic comb had overlooked. Both the foam and the spray have a pleasant scent and make combing through hair easier. For our children' hair, one clip was insufficient, so I used a few of the smaller metal clips. This was my approach:In the bathroom sink, add 4 to 6 inches of HOT HOT water. We foamed in accordance with the instructions, and I took a tiny section of hair (maximum 1 "square), slid the comb in at the scalp, and combed the hair all the way to the ends. The nits (eggs) are often within 1/4 of the scalp, therefore you must reach as close as you can ". After each "run," I vigorously swam the comb in the hot water, tapped leftover water off onto the edge of the sink, and held the comb up to the light to check for any remaining debris. This was done four times on each individual hair part (once from each direction). I would pin up that section and continue on to the next section if the comb returned clean in all directions (you can see the bugs in the water). If not, I would go over the hair part again until it was clean. Concentrate particularly on the hairline, the area around the ears, and the center of the spiral towards the rear of the head (where cowlicks typically occur). They adore those locations.I could go through my younger daughter's fine, thin hair in approximately 30 minutes. It took me almost an hour to style my oldest's hair because she had so much of it. I just handed them a chapter book and asked them to read aloud to me as I read. Or provide a table for them to watch a movie. In order to avoid constantly bending over and twisting to rinse the comb, it is also preferable to use a bar stool rather than having them sit on the toilet.We also purchased the shampoo, which suds extremely well, just to be safe. Although I'm not sure if it or the spray really deters them, why not?

I'll do anything to stop head lice from happening again after a particularly unpleasant experience. For my daughter, who has long, wavy hair, this shampoo has so far performed great. We apply the daily leave-in, shampoo, and conditioner. Compared to other lice prevention products I have come across, this one has a far more alluring scent. The worst part of dealing with head lice is the price of the kits to kill them, the smell, and the time and effort it takes to make sure they are not in your home. I was able to utilize this today on my daughter because I got it yesterday. Since the middle of July, we have been battling with lice. Every time I believe we've got them under control, I look again, and they're still there.
