Most insect bites do not need antibiotics. The exception is if the person has an allergy to the insect bite or if the person develops a skin infection from the bite.

Does toothpaste help bug bites?

There is no definitive answer to this question as there is no scientific evidence to support the claim that toothpaste can help to heal bug bites. However, many people believe that toothpaste can be effective in reducing the swelling and itchiness associated with bug bites, so it is worth trying if you are suffering from these symptoms. Simply apply a small amount of toothpaste to the affected area and leave it for a few minutes before rinsing off.

After Bite Kids, Sensitive Formula, Pharmacist Preferred Insect Bite & Sting Treatment, Natural Healing, Aloe Vera, Skin Protectant, Portable Instant Relief, Stop Itching Cream, 0.7-Ounce Review:

I'm from South Florida, where the heat and humidity last for the most of the year. There are a lot more rainy days than normal this summer, which has led to an increase of no-see-ums, which are minuscule, nearly invisible flying insects. I have lived in Florida for all those years, but up until this point, I have never been bitten by one. They have taken over my area, and they wait to attack anytime I open my door. They broke into my house last week while bringing in bags of food. I've been bitten so many times since then that I've lost count! They have considerably more painful bites than mosquitoes, something I had no idea about until now. Their bites turn from a small, innocuous bite into a large, stinging welt because my body appears to be allergic to them. Nothing relieves the scratching. I experimented with aloe vera gel, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, witch hazel, hydrogen peroxide, and rubbing alcohol. I was about to go insane as the bites were getting worse! I searched Amazon for something to ease the excruciating itching without triggering any allergic responses because I am extremely allergic to so many things.I bought this kids' sensitive skin product the moment I spotted it. I applied it as soon as I got it and massaged it in till the intense itching started to lessen. The itching from the smaller bites went away right away, but it took some time and effort for the discomfort from the larger welts to go away. I applied a lot of the stuff to them and massaged the places until the cream had completely covered them in a white film. I adore the aroma of tea tree oil. I am now at peace and have no itch at all for the first time in a week. To make sure I always have this cream available when I need it, I recently ordered a second tube.

After Bite Plus Insect Bite Treatment 0.7-Ounce Review:

I bought this to replace the older version called After Bite Itch Eraser when I ran out of them. I always took one of those on trips and kept some handy in the house. I loved them except for the fact the liquid in the roller ball container always leaked out when I used it.I was happy to find this newer version is a histamine blocking gel and I keep one in my travel kit. I'm ready now for stopping the itch from mosquito bites, bee stings, etc. It can also be used for minor cuts and scrapes or skin irritations, but not for poison ivy, chicken pox, sunburn, large areas of the body, broken, blistered, or oozing skin.Be sure to read directions and don't use this with any other product containing the active ingredient in this: Diphenhydramine HCI 2%. The inactive ingredients are Ammonia, Carbomer, Glycerin, Purified Water and Tea Tree Oil.

After Bite Itch Eraser (Pen) 14 ml ( Pack of 2) Review:

I am really happy that this product does exactly what it claims to do. The box it came in was in excellent condition. The product has a terrible scent, but it vanished after drying. If you have even slightly damaged or broken the skin, it stings quite a deal, but soon it dries, the stinging subsides.Applicator is dishonest. It has a flat top and a flexible spherical form, but underneath, there is just a hole in a piece of hard plastic. Despite this, the liquid comes out a little too quickly, which speeds up application. Overall, I would say the product is priced fairly considering its quality and use, however I believe a slightly larger size would be ideal. I would suggest this product to friends and relatives who spend a lot of time outside.

Murphy’s Naturals Insect Bite Relief Soothing Balm | All-Natural Ingredients | Travel/Pocket Sized | 0.75oz Review:

The mosquitoes are hungry for (my) blood now that summer has arrived. I used to use a lot of hydrocortisone or a very potent Gold Bond lidocaine for my bug bites, but I chose to try something natural. This balm is portable and simple to use; unlike some other options, it doesn't require cotton swabs to apply. Although I have noticed that it doesn't persist as long as artificial medicines, this balm makes reapplication less laborious. If I ever finish this tin, I would definitely buy it again because the smell is lovely (at least to me)! I've even told my family to get this stuff. If I didn't have to reapply so frequently, this product would receive a 5-star rating. Excellent plant-based product all around.

StingEze Insect Bite, Sting, and Itch Relief Dauber, 0.5 Oz Pen Review:

StingEze Max2 is a little dose of 10% Benzocaine, 1.35% Phenol, and 3% Camphor in a 1/2 inch size. In order to treat chigger bites following a recent camping trip, I bought this ointment. I utilized the goods today after it was delivered. Within 30 minutes, the substance started to wear off after providing immediate relief. I next had a relaxing bath using very warm water, 2 cups of Epsom salts, and eucalyptus oil. Then I used a calming product from Amazon called Puriya Mother of All creams. For the arduous drive home, I wished I had StingEze max in my rucksack. The fresh bites itch horribly. I will carry SingEze on all of my future journeys after thoroughly decontaminating the vehicle and all of the luggage. In over ten years, I haven't had a chigger, and this time, I stepped into a nest. Chiggers are a member of the family of spiders. Adults do not consume humans for food. The juvenile stage eats people, animals, and birds. The adult lays her eggs on grass leaves, and the newly hatched young hide in shady places and beneath mowed grass and leaves as they wait for lunch, dinner, and breakfast—us. It's too late by the time we know we've been bitten. Young people have an enzyme that makes a microscopic skin tunnel. More of the enzyme that liquefies the skin cells is injected into the skin. The young people then drink a protein shake—we. It's too late by the time we know we've been bitten. The youth have been scrubbed off, bathed in soap, or showered off. People like myself react violently to the bite. Itching and swelling are both brought on by the body's immune system going into fight gear with histamines and white blood cells. I stopped painting my nails and started trying tried-and-true home remedies to get rid of the swelling. I use an antihistamine for myself. Claritin is the antihistamine of choice right now. While Claritin helps to lessen the swelling, Benadryl helps me sleep through the itching. The StingEase is useful if a single bite is especially painful. The byproduct of coal tar is phenol. The wood of an evergreen tree is used to make camphor. Both numbing substances also kill bacteria. Man-made benzocaine acts as a moderate anesthetic and numbing agent. Before using, please read the warnings. While this treatment provides temporary relief from itching, long-term comfort requires additional assistance. I am aware that the chigger will not survive to bite again. The photo was taken a few hours after applying StingEze Max 2 and five days after being exposed to chiggers. Yes, I had to mark every bite, and there were more than appeared in the picture. Other chiggers might not have survived to bite if I had the product in my backpack and applied it everywhere. Since it numbs the mouth if it accidentally touches it, I like that it was a pen so that there is nothing left on the hands. How do I know? To compare, read my review of Chigg Away.

Bug Bite Thing Suction Tool, Poison Remover - Bug Bites and Bee/Wasp Stings, Natural Insect Bite Relief, Chemical Free Review:

I can't emphasize enough how much better my quality of life has been during the Ohio summer because to this tiny, simple item. Much rain falls. There are many mosquitoes about. I hate all the mosquitoes. I respond horribly to mosquito bites because of an allergy. Within minutes of the bite, the pimples expand to the size of softballs. Although this gadget doesn't remove those pimples, it IMMEDIATELY eliminates the itching.I had a lot of doubts about the effectiveness of suction in treating this excruciatingly uncomfortable allergic reaction. I'll be truthful. I still have no idea how it works, but it gives me an immediate feeling of comfort that no pill, lotion, or injection has ever given me. You must own one of these if you reside anywhere where insect bites are frequent.

Mite-B-Gone 10% Sulfur Cream Relief from Mites, Insect Bites, Acne, Fungus Review:

We've been battling it for months and have tried several different things, but we're not sure what's on my hands and all over my 3-year-body. old'sThought it was eczema, but cortisone does absolutely nothing to help. I'm not entirely sure what it is, and neither does the useless doctor. Anyhow, my daughter's skin and mine both look better than they have in a very long time after just one day of use. It's less than I anticipated, or perhaps I should say smaller, and I'm using it twice as much on my daughter's body, thus the bottle is almost completely empty, and I just got two more.I have heard that it is ineffective. Nothing else has worked as well as this did despite my months of spending hundreds. It genuinely worked in a single day.My daughter, who frequently scratched open sores, hasn't scratched all day, and my hands appear to be almost entirely healthy.I spent $10 on it, and it was well worth it.==============================after three weeks of use, update==============================The skin of my daughter is clear! It would have been great to have some images of this development. I've used two and a half containers so far, but with each week that goes by, I apply it less and less. But like I stated, her skin has nearly entirely healed; there are no open sores, rashes, or anything like that anymore. I'm ordering another bottle right now just to have some on hand in case of any "flare up." Although I still need to apply it once or twice a day because my hands are still somewhat itching, mainly at night, they are also practically clear.I heartily endorse this item.

Cutter Bite MD Insect Bite Relief, Stick, 0.5-Ounce Review:

Mosquitoes and fire ants are a constant worry for me because I live near the Gulf Coast. I am always looking for both repellent and bite relief products. This Cutter Bite MD stick has 5% Benzocaine, 3% Camphor and 1.35% Phenol. For me, this combination is not quite as effective as the StingEze Max2 formula of 10% Benzocaine and 1.35% Phenol, though the difference is minimal.I find that I need to use either stick immediately after a bite to get any relief at all and I always need to repeat the application. Both products recommend applying again in 10 to 15 minutes for a maximum of 3 times in a day but I tend to exceed that. This Cutter product does provide some short term relief but it is not effective against the continued itchiness of my mosquito bites. However, it does help reduce the swelling if applied quickly enough.
