On my website, cigarcraig.com, I evaluated the Govee Bluetooth Smart Hygrometer/Thermometer in August, but I truly wanted more from it. Recently, the WiFi version became available, so I seized the opportunity and bought one to compare it to the Bluetooth version. If I wanted to receive alerts if something is out of wack or know the conditions inside a specific humidor without opening it up and peeking inside, the bluetooth version's requirement that I be in the same room as the unit is great. This is all well and good, and it's also helpful to have the historical data that the unit logs. I had wished for a longer range solution, but then WiFi appeared. The LCD screen's inclusion of a tiny WiFi emblem is the only difference. The cool element of the free app is that I was able to add both units. I can just speak to the iOS version, but I have no reason to doubt that there is no practical upper limit to the amount of units you may add, provided you give them separate names during setup.The setup instructions were a little confusing for me because they weren't quite as clear as they could have been. If there is a magnet "within here," as the leaflet claims, then my device either skipped that step in the manufacturing process or is uselessly weak. One element that really appealed to me was the promise of the magnet, since I detest having random objects lying around and thought it would be convenient to attach it on the fridge and then transport it quickly to the workplace or elsewhere. The small stand will have to do in its place. It won't stop me from using it, but, you know.UPDATE: The business called me within hours after I published the review above and announced that a replacement is on the way. There will be more.UPDATE 2: This company provides exceptional customer service for a device that is so small, straightforward, and affordable. They contacted me shortly after I posted my first review (above) and assured me that they will send a replacement and reimburse my initial purchase price (at least, they SEEMED to be saying they would; I haven't seen a confirmation of that yet). I now have a hygrometer/thermometer that performs exactly as promised (and one that is still a functional instrument even though it doesn't adhere magnetically to steel), so even if they didn't issue a refund, who am I to complain about it?

The perform.The accuracy of each of the four hygrometers is within a few percent of humidity and one degree Fahrenheit.However, I don't have a calibrated scale of humidity or temperature to contrast them with.The battery life is excellent.For when you inevitably run out of power, they each require two user-replaceable LR44 size batteries.They serve as my hygrometers and room thermometers at home and at work.Please be aware that extended exposure to a highly humid environment will destroy any non-weathersealed electronic item, including these meters.If you find one suggesting an extremely high (80% or above) humidity, you should probably take action. Unless you have three more and don't CARE if one corrodes and dies since you have three more, in which case the next one will also perish because it wasn't made to endure the environment, and you will blame the maker in an unfavorable Amazon review.If the LCD is giving you trouble, you can disassemble your hygrometers. Work in a spotless environment. Your LCD difficulties will worsen due to dirt in the zebra flex connector, not improve.Pry the meter apart using the two clip tabs on the bottom after removing the batteries.Beware, pieces will totally fly everywhere! Don't drop any. The front bezel, LCD screen (with zebra flex connector inserted), PCB, support frame, and back cover are the meter's five main components.Make sure there are no obstructions in the zebra-flex cord that connects to the LCD and wipe the contact row on the PCB with an eraser, a wet towel, or even a shirt! Do not disregard it! This will damage the meter. After that, put it back together:Put the LCD into the front bezel face down, zebra-flex cord towards the bezel's somewhat thicker area. You've got the zebra backwards if you can see it flex from the front.Placing the plastic tab next to the point where the zebra-flex finishes, insert the little plastic frame behind it.The PCB should then be inserted into the housing, with the contact strip and zebra-flex aligned.After that, place the battery door in line with the battery cradles and secure the back cover of the meter with a click. Check that all four clips are in place.Reinstall your batteries, then take pleasure in a clear display once again.

Positives: I bought two ThermPro TP53s. They are the ideal size for what I wanted, they look beautiful, and the numbers are simple to see. With the built-in kickstand, they may be hung on a wall, laid on a table, or even affixed to the fridge using the built-in magnet on the back.Negatives: One of the two thermometers I got consistently reads the room temperature as being 1-2 degrees hotter than it actually is. We put them to the test side by side in a variety of places, and the same one consistently registers hotter than the actual temperature. There is undoubtedly a problem with the accuracy of one of the two I purchased because the other one consistently tested "on the money." When a thermometer isn't accurate, I usually return it because it isn't worth anything to me. However, this time, I choose to retain it and use it on my screened-in porch. Even though I would have like accuracy so that I could have used it as intended inside the home, one or two degrees "off" on the screened porch isn't a big deal.

Since last week, I've purchased 3 AcuRites. I snapped this photo after allowing them to remain in the same place for several hours. To make it easier to understand, I listed them as A, B, and C. A = B = Model 00325; B = Model 00613; C = Model 00613 also available on Amazon.com. Like A and B, C also has a magnet strip on the back, but it also has a clip. The clip can be a little more expensive. They all need one AA battery, and C is more portable and, in my opinion, more attractive.I'm less concerned about the temperature accuracy because they are humidity monitors. However, it is quite disappointing because none of the three units show the same humidity despite spending many hours stationary at the same location. This manufacturer considers /- 3% to be typical. They are all true in that sense. But don't we all want to see the same readings? I want to draw your attention to multiple topics in this one image:1) B (Model 00325) claims that 40% humidity within its miniature house icon is "OK," however 41% humidity with C (Model 00613) is regarded as "LOW."2) Unit B reports a "41%" indoor HIGHT humidity, but Units A and C report "47%" and "51%," respectively. The 10% difference is a significant one.3) Unit A indicates that the temperature is heading downward (see the little arrow next to 64°F), while B completely contradicts A.4) Unit A displays an arrow pointing to the right, indicating that indoor humidity is stable, but B believes it is rising.We cannot truly detect the difference between them if they are not side by side. In this comparison, Unit A's humidity readings are probably the most accurate. How come? When I took the image, these 3 AcuRites were only about 3 feet away from our humidifier, which has a digital humidity gauge, and its display matched Unit A at precisely "43%." Additionally, this picture was shot at around 4:00 PM despite the humidifier not having been used for the previous eight hours.I honestly can't give a 5 Star rating because of the inconsistency. However, I believed that this quick comparison would be useful to some purchasers. These two types, in my opinion, are both reasonably priced and accurate for the intended use. But how many years will they last? Some reviewers have expressed dissatisfaction with the Accurite quality they received. We should all receive durable products that last for a while. I'm grateful.

On the second day, someone made the decision to take advantage of their personal 5-finger discount and take this without my knowledge. Although it's not a particularly expensive item, the idea of theft truly irritates me.Once again, I'm estimating the temperature in a warm setting. (I'd purchase another, but the cost increased by 16% in the week between when I received the thermometer and when it was taken. That's way too much inflation—16% for just one week.Revision, 10/27/19:I'm relieved that my thermometer was found. I wouldn't purchase this item again because of price gouging given the over 25% price increase since my purchase. 25 percent more in 7.5 weeks. There is no justification for price changes or increases because this is not a commodity.

I'm not sure what the other people are talking about with the inconsistent temperature reading. Mine synchronized flawlessly after starting and an hour of waiting.Given just 4 stars because of a design issue. There is no way to verify the minimum and maximum temperatures without using the button on the back of the device, which is why I want to wall install mine. Who wants to check it every time by taking it down from the wall? Not me. The rest is wonderful.
