When I acquired this Mister Maker, I was unaware of its fantastic characteristics, including the fact that the fog effect actually has a bactericidal effect and may remove undesirable aromas that may result from standing water.The lights are stunning, and the mister functions flawlessly. It came together quickly and easily. It wasn't something that required a lot of labor. The only sound I can hear is the water going through it because it is so quiet.

I got this for our "potions class" table at a Harry Potter party to add some flair. Although you MUST purchase the splash protection, it is AMAZING. It amazes me that I overlooked that when I purchased this one. Without the splash shield, water will spray all over the place. Here is what I discovered:PROS: It works well for a tiny tabletop fog cauldron effect without using any chemicals or obstructing your vision with excessive fog. The addition of the lights is fantastic. It is simple to set up and starts working right away. You don't need to give it a lot of attention (unlike dry ice which takes way more time and is a massive pain compared to how easy this is). So adorable! It is presently on the back patio table because we liked it so much when I used it for Halloween. I didn't have to worry about the kids sticking their hands in the water because they loved the changing colors. Once that's done, it works well! The only challenging part is making sure the water level is correct so it mists effectively.

Working well is the Fitate Mist Maker. When the mist maker was properly submerged, I could get a good 2 inches or more of mist above the waterline. Just so you know, my use of the product was somewhat unrelated to its intended use. I was asked to create a "burning" volcano with a dinosaur Jurassic theme for my grandson's fifth birthday. The typical interest of a 5-year-old. It was suggested to use dry ice, but I didn't want to put my trust in the kids to keep their hands off of it for their own safety. I'm delighted I made the decision to try the Fitnate Mist Maker. There is enough mist produced for the volcano to appear to be smoking. A lovely effect is produced by the LEDs. More importantly, the water is secure even when kids dip their cake-smeared hands into it. The mist maker receives low voltage power, which keeps it electrically secure. Several children attempted to save their miniature dinosaur toys after offering them as sacrifices to the volcano. No children or dinosaurs were hurt.Why did I give the Fitnate Mist Maker four stars? primarily as a result of the plastic splash shield not staying put on the mist maker. The stiff cable with the black circular gadget on it and the loose fit are both contributing factors, as well as the poor fit itself. Holding down the splash guard on the generator while situating the cord such that the generator bottom kept flat in the container and the cord or "gizmo" didn't tilt the generator or knock the splash guard off is required when using the Fitnate Mist Maker in any container.The next time, I'll attempt it in a sizable punch bowl with actual punch. When I used it in a medium-sized bowl with water, the effect was nice.

These underwater electronics typically have a short lifespan. This one is in a little fountain outside that I have, and it runs pretty much every night. The lights are still on and the fog is still present so far. It has a little moss on it, but that is great.It has some cutting-easily plastic stands. To get the best fog generation, it must be at the ideal height below the water line. In order to keep the plastic stand upright, I placed a rock on it. It's decent for $12.

This device feels just as solid and is a little bit bigger than the Alpine fountain foggers I've previously used. When compared to the more costly Alpine foggers, it may produce slightly less fog, but at a third of the cost, I can't really complain. It does splash quite a bit, so be careful where you use it. It will splash water everywhere if you set it in a container that is too small.I just purchased these this week, so I can't really comment on their durability or lifetime at this time, but I will say that after using them for a while, I'm fairly happy with them. I don't think I'll ever pay $30 on a fountain fogger again, at this point. These work just as well and are extremely reasonably priced.2/22/2017 UPDATE: These foggers work great! Similar to foggers I've purchased for much than $30. They last as long as the more costly ones and produce a lot of fog. These are a great deal, and I'll most certainly be purchasing more in the future.Note: You sort of have to locate that "sweet spot" of water depth to for things to work to their greatest ability. The fogger won't function if it is submerged too deeply. It won't function if it isn't seated deep enough in the water. To locate the ideal water level for maximum fog output, you kind of have to fiddle with it for a while, but once you do, it's completely worth it.

It operates more effectively than any fogger I've ever owned. I needed this fogger because my previous fogger/light combination suddenly failed, with a second one immediately after it. Since they do need to be renewed every few years or so, I needed to do it without spending a ton of money. Because I use it in my massage therapy room and it helps to create such a lovely ambience, I also required one that is dependable and functional when I need it. I want to have it; I don't want to be without it.Since this fogger fits all of those items and has a year warranty, I know that if I make this tiny investment and something goes wrong with it shortly, I won't have to worry about anything.

There is no mist present; I'm not sure what's wrong, but a torrent of water is all that comes out. I've experimented with placing it at a variety of depths, ranging from 1" to 1/8" below the water's surface. No fog. Additionally, the lights start to strobe on and off after a minute. When the lights are turned off, the water spout also comes to an end. The pace of on/off flashing is roughly once every second.(After a day...)To continue, come back. Therefore, it appears that in order for the device to function, it must be submerged around three inches (not like the shallow bowl in the photo). It produces a lot of mist presently and functions extremely well.

Excellent replacement for your misting fountains, great product. Since discovering them on Amazon a few years back, I have been utilizing my two mall shelf/tabletop mist fountains virtually exclusively.Before purchasing this fogger, you should be informed of the following:1. I've discovered that, for the most part, the most of the ones I've bought have worked superbly, BUT it may also be hit or miss. That is to say, I have plugged in a few that either did not mist, did not light up, or had a problem with one or more of the colors.2. I haven't looked into this, but some of the reviews claim there isn't a return policy. If all sales are actually final, you will need to decide whether or not to order one or more of these to serve as replacements. Since most of them have worked just fine and the occasional lemon only cost about $6.00 with free delivery, I really just couldn't be bothered to try to return one. If this is a problem for you, see if you may return this item through Amazon.3. These are NOT long-term substitutes. They are only supposed to last a few months. So, if you're anything like me, you'll always want to have some backups set up and ready to go. Having more spares than you need is usually a bad idea because you could occasionally obtain a unit that doesn't function perfectly.4. You can swap out the tiny white disc if the device stops "Misting." When I initially started using these, I got a three-pack of the discs, each of which came with a peculiarly shaped take that you could insert into two holes on the disc, spin counterclockwise, and then swap out the old disc with the new one. I won't even bother with this option, to be completely honest. Since these are so inexpensive, I don't think the effort is worth it because I've personally had terrible success getting the units to mist again by replacing the tiny white disc. If you disagree, you might want to try changing the disc. If you do, you might luck out more than I do.5. Unlike when it stops misting, there is no repair if the lights burn out or if particular colors in its cycle become black. The only options are to replace it or learn to live without or with little light. After a few months, one of the two units I currently have on works flawlessly, however last night one of the colors quit working. When anything involving the hue yellow (such as yellow itself or orange) stops working, the unit cycles to red, blue, and purple instead. It is evident that all the yellows on this gadget are out because these devices feature a dozen or so tiny LEDs that are mixed together to create non-primary colors. However, it continues to produce an astonishing amount of mist. No big deal. I will simply put it back in the fountain when I am finished writing this review.6. A few things that could go wrong include little to no fog, no light at all, or particular colors not working, either right away or within a very short period of time (shorter than the mister's typical life expectancy of many months).7. Prevent the water from getting too low. Anecdotally, I've discovered that you get color changes but no fog when the water evaporates to the point where the water surface is only a few millimeters or so over the top of the mister.8. The fog is also lessened or eliminated when the fountain is fully filled with water. The ideal level of water seems to be between an inch and two inches above and below the top of the fountain. You understand what I mean when I say that it's more of a window than a sweet spot. That area appears to have the most lifespan and fog-making potential. Try to maintain the water levels within that range.9. Consider incorporating a few drops of your preferred scented oil concentrates—just a few, please. Although I purchase them locally from one of those shops that sells essential oils and other things, you may purchase them on Amazon. Actually, these are excellent all-natural air fresheners.This is extremely important! The unit needs to be cleaned and the water needs to be changed occasionally. When utilizing oils, this is much more important. I believe you could get away with cleaning the fountain, mister, and stand with a sponge and changing the water every few weeks, but I do this once a week. This not only lengthens the mist makers' lives but is also hygienic. If you use a few drops of oil several times per day, as I do, then after a week or more the water starts to look a little soupy and brownish. I carry the unit into my kitchen and carefully (imagine a waiter serving you soup) unplug the long cable that is attached to the mister from the AC power brick before cleaning it. I remove the glass top and carefully pour out all the water, leaving it in my sink. I typically spend a few seconds cleaning the convex glass top, the interior of the fountain tray, and the plastic/rubber frame that holds the glass top. I also use the mister to spritz and wipe, especially on or near the disc. The delicate plastic frame's framework can occasionally become stained with coatings of residue, likely from the oils but also from the water, especially if you use a lot of oil. I therefore take it apart and give that a good cleaning every few weeks or months. However, in general, it only takes a minute or two to clean and replace the water in each of my units once a week. It might only take a few minutes to clean the frame when it needs to be done. But that's over.As I previously stated, the majority of the units function well and last for several months before developing one of the aforementioned issues, at which point you must replace it. As long as the water level in the fountain isn't too high or too low, the majority of these misters produce a lot of mist.This is a true story: One of my misters lasted for almost a year! I'm not joking. Since I regularly clean it, I became aware of the metallic frame's beginning to chip and break toward the end of its lifespan. LOL I suppose that being submerged in water all day long and being used virtually constantly literally wore the outside of it down. Strangely, it continued to function. One of the reasons I don't hold the product too much responsible for the ones that arrive damaged is because of this. But I still think highly of them.
