This is fantastic stuff! It looks amazing because I made a tabletop for a nightstand out of a ton of it. I hope it lasts a very, very, very long time. The most crucial thing to understand is that, if you're pouring several coats, there will be a significant amount of waste. I calculated how much epoxy I would need to cover all of my components, and the results showed that there was around 11 cubic inches of mixing cup waste. which represented a loss of around 5%. Just be mindful to order more if it's going to be close. Before I could pour more material, I had to sand back the layers I had already poured because I ran out and had to wait for the fresh batch to arrive. But the outcome speaks for itself.

Excellent varnish and tung oil finish. Although it requires a bit more work to utilise than polyurethane, the finished product is considerably prettier. Usually, I apply 6 to 8 thin layers, buffing each one once it becomes tacky. One layer every 24 hours. If necessary, I may also sand between applications with 600-grit paper. The wood is given an incredible depth and warmth, and figured woods really come to life. This finish is ideal for an antique or unique piece of handcrafted furniture, but it is not strong enough for outdoor use. Every little of extra work is worthwhile.

I'm delighted with how well this turned out. I wanted to just brighten my space and have two of these clothes. I began by priming the surface with a coat of white, water-based Zinsser B-I-N primer, and then painted with chalk paint (linen white chalk paint by Rustoleum). On the dresser, I used a brush (Brossum 2 in 1 rounds chalk paint brush), and on the drawers, foam roller refills (FoamPRI 65-5). Compared to the brush, I am MUCH happy with the foam roller look. I can make out the brushstrokes on the dresser, but they are not apparent up close. I also applied wax (Retique It furniture in clear) and polycrylic (Varanthane ultimate polyurethane, water based, crystal clear in satin) on the dresser's drawers. I like the way the polycrylic looks and makes me feel, so I'm going to redo simply the tops of the dressers with it. I completed it by drilling holes and attaching the crystal knobs and handles (ANJUU 12 Pcs 30mm Silver Plated Base Diamond Shape Crystal Glass Cabinet Knobs with Screws Drawer Knob Pull Handle Used for Kitchen, Dresser, Door, Cupboard, Azure) from AmazonBasics. I'm quite pleased with the outcome considering this was my first time using chalk paint.

I searched the internet for the top sealant for butcher block countertops for bathroom sink vanities (three in total). I chose Waterlox over the brands at the neighborhood home improvement store based on reviews, videos, images, etc. Interesting narrativeI've had a contractor helping me with a few renovations over the past few months, and he was extremely worried about my desire to use a wood top in a bathroom. Others don't enjoy it as much. But he kept warning me that utilizing wood wouldn't work and that I would have serious wood rot issues. I gradually came to understand that doing this is becoming more and more common, and there are a rising number of things available. I eventually purchased a few 8' countertop-grade butcher block slabs and left for home. We chopped them, and I started by applying the sealer/finish that Waterlox suggested (semi-gloss). Depending on the board, I applied 2 to 3 coats. Then, I switched to the satin finish (also purchased from Amazon.com), applied a second coat, and then lightly sanded the surface to get rid of the minor lumps and rough spots. I then applied the last coat. Beautiful. Water beads, as one might imagine, and I believe that maintaining the vanity clean and as dry as possible will ensure its long-term viability. Oh, and before I used the solution, I sanded the countertop and used mineral spirits to clean and disinfect it. This is crucial, so don't forget to do it!I hope you enjoy the images. The new bathrooms are fantastic!Oh, and because we adored it so much, I built a "country/rustic" kitchen island with a butcher block top and applied the same Waterlox treatments to it.

I decided to try my hand at resin art after being inspired by numerous YouTube videos and began out by ordering this item. After reading a few reviews, I've come to the conclusion that thorough reading and adherence to the instructions could prevent a lot of frustration. Whether you're using it for tabletop coating or art, you should always:- put on gloves. Make sure that anything you are coating is lined with wax paper, newspaper, or anything else to collect the resin because this stuff is quite sticky and will get everywhere. It will be difficult to remove once it hardens!- always use a measuring cup and combine in a 1:1 ratio. Please don't eyeball it; if you do, you'll end up with a tacky, sticky, incomplete craft (I learnt the hard way). Also, make sure the mixture is thorough. You only have a small window to work with the resin once it's mixed, so I used a popsicle stick and made sure to get the bottoms and sides. Don't worry if you have bubbles; just have an idea of what you want to achieve and plan it out ahead. Since I used mine as an art project, I had to make sure my canvas was elevated (with the help of cups) so the resin trickled out the sides. Continue working against that small window, and a short flash of the blow torch or heat gun will clear the bubbles. then before it had hardened, I made careful to rub the edges in.I'll definitely be placing additional orders for this item!

Even though I'm not an expert, the bubbles in the poly problem that bothers us everyone caused me some difficulty. You can conduct research and discover the fundamental principles of using poly, however here are a few accidents I had.1. Technique will effectively address most, but not all, of the bubble problem. also a good brush.2. This stuff sets up quickly in a cellar in the winter with dry heat.3. Consider diluted it. I began to run low on a non-critical component. So I violated every single procedure I had learnt by adding some water (30%? ), mixing it, and slapping it on. In fact, I made a special effort to include bubbles. When I returned 30 minutes later, it had been the project's best application.4. It goes on quite thick if you DO use good technique. A lot of stuff is used. After that, you must sand it and apply another layer. I believe that the best course of action would be to spray a diluted version of the product. In order to avoid turning the house into a toxic waste dump, I'll either wait until the summer and use oil-based paint outside or acquire a sprayer if I ever undertake a project this size again.5. It seems quite plastic-like because it is so thick. It's one of the reasons I want to completely leave Poly.

For my deck, I constructed a bar-height outdoor table from dry cedar, but I was stumped on how to finish it.
