Yes, alcohol can be used as a paint thinner. However, it is not as effective as other paint thinners on the market.
Nail polish remover is not typically used as paint thinner because it is not as effective. However, in a pinch, it can be used to thin out paint. It is important to note that using nail polish remover as paint thinner can produce fumes that are harmful to inhale, so it is important to work in a well-ventilated area.
Yes, vinegar can remove paint from surfaces like wood and metal. However, it's important to note that vinegar is a mild acid, so it can also damage some surfaces. Be sure to test it on a small area first to see how your particular surface will react.

Update 4-26-19: I verified and discovered that my transponder is still firmly in place despite being housed vertically in an unheated workshop over the winter and finally back horizontal on a good trailer. Still good, tacky, and bendable putty. Since installing it, my fish finder has operated almost faultlessly. The depth ratings and fish hits are reliable. Definitely preferable to my attempt to drag the transponder behind me. The best part is that there was no need to construct a water trap, as some people demonstrate by using silicon forms and this particular duct seal compound. I believe the small amount of petroleum jelly I applied to the transponder's face was sufficient to create a strong seal. Air bubbles will be problematic, but I haven't encountered any, so I'm satisfied with it overall. Now, let's go fishing for another year!Original assessment I mounted a FishTrax Hawkeye transponder to the interior of my sit-on-top kayak using half of this block. Petro gel was applied to the bottom of the transponder, then the sides were progressively worked up to the top edge and angled down to the hull. appears to be performing flawlessly! a lot simpler than alternative in-hull mounting methods. We'll see how the compound has fared under gravity and the harsh winter weather in the spring because I've stored the yak vertically for the season. Next year, if I remember, I'll update.

Shipping with this was incredibly quick! For the repair of an ancient gun, I mixed it with rit dye powder to create green wood colour. I'm very happy with how well it turned out! My only complaint was that the packing was somewhat heavy for such a little bottle. I understand that it must be handled carefully because it is combustible, however this was packaged in a medium-sized box with filler foam (the stuff in an aerosol can used for filling gaps around windows and doors) It's a huge lump of garbage, but it doesn't diminish my experience or the value of the chemical in any way!

Before choosing Kleen-Strip Green, I researched many other products. Less of the petrochemical "denaturing" ingredient and more ethanol, which dissolves shellac flakes, are present in this formulation (s). It also lessens the stench, making it more "green." And since pure ethanol is essentially a controlled substance, it is *much* less expensive than pure ethanol, which would be great for dissolving shellac but is incredibly expensive and difficult to even obtain. KSG is my go-to solution for dissolving shellac flakes, but I've also used it to remove some finishes and clean stainless steel before etching, heat-coloring, and other processes. Additionally, ordering it has been more affordable for me than having someone drive me long distances to try and find a store that sells it for more money on top of the cost of travel...

I've just finished painting the exteriors of my house's two exterior doors, and I also painted eight vinyl shutters. It was simply restoring faded color in both of these instances, not a change in color (especially the shutters). I couldn't locate burgundy in stock at my neighborhood hardware store. For these tasks, around two-thirds of a quart can was used. The color is ideal, and since this enamel is made of oil, I have no doubt that it will be durable and quite long-lasting. I currently have a quart and a third left over for items like porch furniture for next summer. One tip I saw online to prevent the third of the can from hardening Ensure that the original lid is tightly hammered down and store upside down. If a "skin" develops on the surface, it will be at the BOTTOM of the paint that is still usable! I hope that's a good tip.

In order to prevent water from bubbling up around our 45 degree cut, our family recently installed new Formica countertops (even though the seam was extremely tight). Cleaning up with this is essential if you're using Seam-Fil patching compound; otherwise, using other solvents runs the risk of harming your finished result. This is the ideal cleaning solution to use, and you will require it because Seam-Fil soon gets work-hardened. Make sure to give your patching compound enough time to get fairly hard before using this solvent to remove any "over fill." The hardening effect will remove any undesirable "over fill" while allowing your "fill work" to remain. Awesome stuff!

This biodegradable stuff is fantastic! I learned about it via a friend, and I love it! It will be put to other uses besides just around the house. I've already used it on my car to clean the front quarter panel of road tar. The clear coat wasn't harmed by it. After removing the tar, I made sure to cleanse the area with soap and water. I thought the shipping packing was excellent. It was a wonderful touch to shrink wrap the bottle in a plastic "cocoon" to ensure that any leaks would be confined inside the "cocoon". The shipment arrived quickly. Locally, in the shops in my area, I had problems finding this item. The reliable Amazon delivered! I discovered it on this website. Once this runs out, I'll keep ordering from Amazon anytime I need to replace it! Read the directions thoroughly before using it to make sure it won't harm whatever you are attempting to clean. This could stain porous stone, such as countertops and floors, so I wouldn't advise using it there.

essentially stopped writing reviews. Since neither the general public nor my family are interested in what I think about anything, I tend to buy rather generic items. I AM, HOWEVER, quite impressed with this paint identification gadget. It might be quite standard developed technology, but to me, it is new. I am repainting a 2400 square foot house from top to bottom. Even trying the "collect all the white chips you can find at all the paintstores" exercise, matching ceiling paint colors has proven to be a fruitless endeavor. Although it is unlikely to find an identical match because white paint degrades rather quickly, it is a significant start in the right direction. In addition, the tiny gadget quickly and precisely matched the wall and woodwork colors I was using. It is definitely worth the money, at least in my opinion, and shipment was quick even though I was informed that it would be several days late.
There are a few ways to liquify thick paint. One way is to add a thinner to the paint. This will help to break down the paint and make it easier to work with. Another way is to use a heat gun to soften the paint. This will make it easier to spread and work with.
There are a few ways to thin out paint at home, depending on the type of paint and the desired consistency. Water-based paints can be thinned with water, while oil-based paints require mineral spirits. To thin either type of paint, start by adding a small amount of the thinner to the paint and mix thoroughly. If the paint is still too thick, add a bit more of the thinner until the desired consistency is achieved.
A solvent is a substance that dissolves a solute, resulting in a solution. Solvents are usually liquids, but can also be solids or gases. Common examples of solvents are water, ethanol, and isopropanol.
There are three main types of solvents: polar solvents, nonpolar solvents, and ionic solvents. Polar solvents have molecules with polar bonds that dissolve other polar molecules. Nonpolar solvents have molecules with nonpolar bonds that dissolve other nonpolar molecules. Ionic solvents have molecules with ionic bonds that dissolve other ionic molecules.
There are many solvents that can be used for paint, but the most common is water. Other solvents that can be used include oil, alcohol, and acetone.
There are a few substitutes for turpentine, including mineral spirits, denatured alcohol, and citrus-based cleaners. Mineral spirits are the most commonly used substitute for turpentine, as they are less expensive and less toxic. Denatured alcohol can also be used, but it is more expensive and can be more difficult to find. Citrus-based cleaners are less effective than turpentine or mineral spirits, but they are less toxic and have a pleasant smell.
