A paint tray is a tool used by painters to hold and transport paint from the can or bucket to the work surface. Paint trays come in a variety of sizes and shapes, but all have a handle for easy carrying and a lip to keep the paint from spilling. Most professional painters use paint trays because they are an efficient way to move paint around. Paint trays can be used with a variety of paint types, including water-based, oil-based, and latex paints.
Paint buckets can be reused in a number of ways. One way is to use them as planters for flowers or other plants. Another way is to use them to store small household items such as nails, screws, or buttons. Finally, paint buckets can be used to hold water for washing vehicles or watering plants.
Most regular paint buckets hold about 1 gallon of paint, but they can come in a range of sizes. Some smaller buckets may only hold a half-gallon, while larger buckets can hold up to 5 gallons.
It takes approximately 1 gallon of paint to cover a 12x12 room.

This is a great tiny portable paint container. A benefit is that the neighborhood Home Depot sells disposable liners easily. It washes up nicely when using standard latex type paints; I've used it both ways. The brush is held in place by a magnet within the pail, keeping it out of the paint and ensuring that it always rests on one side. Before someone suggested one, I had never used one of these pails, and I now prefer it. I use this a lot when painting my house's trim, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. The number of times I've used this device and it still works flawlessly is beyond my comprehension. Although it has some paint buildup from the times I haven't used a liner, it is still quite useful, and I don't anticipate needing to purchase another one for a very long time. Still highly advised.Another update: This product is still being used and is absolutely fantastic! I'll be using this because I have some touch-up work to do from recent paint jobs, I'm renovating, and one project includes a lot of trim. Still highly advised.A NEW UPDATE (11-2014)I recently finished remodeling a half bath, including bespoke wainscoting and trim for the whole space. This bucket was used to paint a lot of walls, wood, and trim. I rinsed the disposable liner a second time and painted for probably ten different times. I've probably used the same throwaway liner for the last few projects and it's still 90% clean, so I would advise buying a pack of those and reusing the liner as long as it doesn't get too caked up after cleaning out your brush. The magnet within the paint bucket is fantastic and will hold your brush out of the paint or just in the paint depending on your preferences. incredibly useful when you need to put something down for a moment.Additionally, I suggest Purdy paint brushes because they are unmatched, a little more expensive, last a long time, and keep a fantastic edge. By filling it up and pressing the brush against the bottom and sides of the container until no more paint is seen flowing out, I use this paint pail to rinse the brushes in (Only Latex Paint). a requirement for when I paint!

Disposable cup holds up to a pint of paint
$234
I'm so happy I bought it before I started painting.Pros: * Easy carry handle; * Perfect size for carrying about. With the top edge folded over the outside of the cup, quart-size ziplock bags fit within the cup nicely. Throughout the entire time I used it, I never once had to clean this. When I was finished painting, I just threw away the ziplock bag, and the cup's interior was completely clean! For preventing brush from slipping into the paint, a magnet is AMAZING!Cons: * For two reasons, you can only fill the cup halfway.1. The handle is not particularly robust or thick. The handle starts to sway a little bit if the cup is too heavy.2. If you utilize the magnet to hold your brush, the paint will completely cover the bristles if the cup is too full. That shouldn't stop you from making this buy. Even when you can't fill the cup completely, you shouldn't carry a particularly hefty cup about regardless. Surprisingly, it still holds a lot of paint.Although I would purchase this cup once more, I don't see myself doing so anytime soon because it should last a very long time, especially if you use plastic bags to keep it clean. I painted four rooms, and my cup is spotless inside and out! Additionally, this makes changing colors a breeze without removing all the paint!

I enjoy these paint cups a lot! They have the ideal size, a useful handle, and a handy magnet to prevent the brush from sitting at the bottom. They can carry a respectable amount of paint for cutting in without needing to refill them frequently. However, it is still manageable to hold in your hand while moving your ladder, climbing it, or both. With a little extra care around the magnet, inside and exterior latex paints washed out rather readily. Additionally, we utilized these cups with deck stain to complete the tiresome spindle/railing tasks. We didn't try to remove the oil-based stain from the cups or brushes because they were so inexpensive (just tossed them). We will most definitely order more of them since we are the owners/managers of multiple rental homes!

Security strap automatically expands to allow room for larger hands, soft feel elastomer adds comfort, side indents provide better grip and control
Durable one piece polypropylene construction resists solvents and paint buildup
8 1/2 inch L x 7 inch W x 6 1/2 inch D
Powerful magnet inside back to hold a brush, and integrated design will not rust or trap paint for easier cleaning
$234
This is a quality item. When you use it, it won't bend in your hand because of its solid construction, but it isn't too heavy to hold. Additionally, the adjustable strap makes it much easier to grasp with a full load of paint. When you're finished with the project, you may still pour paint back into the can because it is made with a mouth that is wide enough to use as a roll-off area for little rollers. You can avoid laying your paintbrush down or letting it fall into the paint by placing it on a magnetized spot. Despite the fact that paint can be removed quite easily with a scraper if you don't use the #8629 liners, I use them to make cleanup easier. A wonderful device that is particularly helpful if you're on a ladder or simply need to be mobile and don't want to constantly be returning to the gallon can.

and strong. In order to touch up my living room and hallway, I had to open two cans of paint that were at least 14 years old. Each of the one-gallon cans were nearly full, and the lids on both were so badly rusted that attempting to remove them completely damaged them.I used two of these each color and purchased them right away. They are made of hard plastic, not flimsy plastic. Since I'm not sure what prolonged exposure to light will do to paint, I appreciate that they're black. My paint is also rather old. The lid fit tightly and was well-sealed. To name the top and sides, I used my label maker, a dot of paint, and an image of the can label.I'll be switching to these kind of cans for the remaining 8 gallons and 7 quarts of paint. These quart-sized cans are reasonably priced, however I find the price of the 1-gallon can to be outrageous. I'll just stay with quart cans since I'm not paying $11.50 for a plastic can. I like these and am hoping they prevent paint from going bad. 14 years from now, I'll let you know.

I've had a spot for years, so I ordered another of the same style. Since this type is no longer available in the orange and blue large box retailers, I ordered the Shur-Line 06100 from Amazon. When I compared the old and new spouts side by side, I was surprised to see that they are the exact same model and manufacturer. Each curve, line, etc., is identical. View images 1 and 2.This evaluation only applies to my use with latex and acrylic paint. Oil paint is something I try to stay away from.Made in the USA is inscribed in the same place on both the old and new products. View images 3 and 4.Even with the old paint on the old pour spout taken into consideration, the new pour spout does not fit as tightly as the old one for some reason. This results in the loss of one star. Make sure the spout is properly seated on the can before pouring each time, and it will function just fine. Pouring from the can requires two hands; never use the handle. The spout will obstruct your path when carrying the can, according to several reviews. I concur. Carry the can with two hands, not by the handle. A shorter spout is an alternative. Try Amazon if you can't locate a shorter spout that wraps around the can rim at the big box store (at least not in my area).Cleaning this spout is not difficult. To remove any dried paint, I scrape it off with a plastic putty knife. Use plain water and a green scrubbing pad as a follow-up if you're serious about getting the spout cleaner. I used my old Shur-Line for numerous DIY painting projects and, even though some paint lingered on the spout, I never experienced an issue with dried paint flaking off after giving the spout a good cleaning. Just make careful to clean up any remaining paint before beginning a new project.Overall, this spout works great for me, prevents paint from getting into the can grooves, and makes pouring paint easy.

Straining your paint limits this possibility from ever happening, it allows for the smoothest and purest possible finish, making for happy customers.
NO MORE PARTICLES: This strainer will remove any and all particles that are the same size or larger than the width of a human hair. Thinking about how small that is puts into perspective just how much this strainer will filter out. The 400 micron rating makes for a fine, as opposed to a coarse straining process.

To deal with stuck sparges, I got this. Sometimes, when we just couldn't obtain a good flow, we were obliged to use the cotton pillow case and squeeze approach. got sick of it and started searching for a better solution. I found it, and it's fantastic. Scoop a few quarts in and stir with your hands to promote flow. You will quickly get that back. I'm likely going to reduce the sizes as well and test how well the sizing keeps the trub in my winemaking to a minimum. It appears to be clean and quite durable. When doing beer, managing just a few recoveries easily pays for itself.

This tiny bucket is kept in my bathroom sink. Since our apartment's owners replaced my handheld shower head with a standard one, I use it to rinse the bathtub's edges. When I need to scrub little places, it's a good size to carry about a little soapy water. I rarely carry loaded tiny pails by the handle because I am used to using huge buckets, which are more stable. Since my other hand is frequently sinking into it, I normally carry them braced for stability and usability between the crook of my elbow and my body. So far, I've only used the handle to carry this pail a couple of times when it's still partially full. I had no problems, but I didn't use it frequently enough to know how well it was managed. In order to keep the bathroom sink clean, I also use it to soak brushes, hand wash headbands and sweatbands, and clean other tiny items. We used 7-11 Big Gulp then Super Big Gulp cups to do it when we were kids:) As someone who grew up with dogs (though I don't presently have one), I know this is the ideal size for using one hand to grasp the side then quickly fill and pour a few times to rinse a dog's or puppy's back in a bathtub.

This was AMAZING! I'm an older woman who's not in great health. I don't really have the money to hire painters, and I don't want to flip my house upside down, but I lack the physical strength to do it myself. This tiny detail was ideal. With a mini-roller that fit perfectly in the hand-held bucket with coordinating liner, I just painted my kitchen. I only used a tiny bit of paint at a time, painted for a brief period, and when I grew tired, I had run out of paint! Wrap the roller in plastic to prevent drying out, take a break, and then return to it. It was fantastic - I painted the kitchen by myself over the course of a single weekend with hardly any mess to clean up.
5 gallons of paint will cover an area of approximately 400 square feet. This amount will vary depending on the type of paint, the surface being painted, and the paint's coverage rate.
A gallon of paint will cover around 350 square feet. This is based on 1 coat of paint and does not include any primer.
An empty paint bucket can cost anywhere from $2 to $5. The price will depend on the size and brand of the bucket.
The cost of painting a room 12x12 will vary depending on the paint, the size of the room, the type of paint, the quality of the paint, and the painter.
A quart of paint usually covers about 100 square feet, so it should be enough to cover one wall.
There is no right or wrong answer to this question, it depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you are trying to get an even coat of paint on a large surface, then a paint tray is probably the better option. If you are trying to paint a small area or touch up a spot, then a paint bucket might be the better option.
