I'll start off by mentioning that I hadn't cleaned my dishwasher in a year when I bought the affresh. Only when I started smelling a terrible smell coming from my dishwasher did I actually consider to clean it. I then looked this up online and discovered that I should have been cleaning my dishwasher regularly all along. Ahh, me. Anyway, I went to Amazon, discovered this brand online, and made the decision to try it out because it was the right price and I would receive free shipping in the mail since I have a Prime membership (by the way, if you don't have Prime, get it—you will start ordering everything online because the convenience is insane). My dishwasher was thoroughly cleaned after I used the Affresh. For example, debris that I had assumed would always be in the dishwasher was removed. The only issue was that the affresh's extraordinarily potent perfume-like scent had taken the place of the previous, stinky, foul smell. My coffee mugs were smelling like coffee and affresh, which irritated me a little. a poor match. My sister suggested that I use a small amount of citric acid to organically clean the machine and remove the affresh residue. She provided me with some of her Citric Acid Powder - Ultra Fine Pure Powdered Crystals - Natural Preservative Food Grade Quality (16 oz), and it was fantastic! My dishwasher was exactly as clean as before after just one use, but there was no aroma.Update: After using affresh again, I decided to change my rating to four stars. This time, however, I did a double wash back-to-back, first with affresh, which removed all of the gunk and leftover food, and then with citric acid, which eliminated the remaining odor and left my plates clean and free of mineral residue. Sweet! Basically, I believe that you need to use both, thus I advise you to purchase both.

Since I only purchase Finish items for my dishwasher on Subscribe and Save on Amazon, I discovered this as a "other purchasers also purchased as well." This is gold, people! My home state of Arizona has HARD water. It's kind of hard, as in, you can eat it with a fork. Always leaves scale and gunk on my fixtures and shower doors (not really, but it's full of all kinds of crap). Anyhow, my dishwasher, which is just 6 months old (so, almost new), wasn't performing as well as it once did, and I was at a loss for how to get my dishes incredibly clean without spending money on a soft water system for my house. (HELLO OUTRAGEOUS) Be aware that I am a neat freak and do not simply toss filthy dishes in my washer and hope that some fictitious little green men will eat the leftovers while it is running. Before going into the washer, everything is scraped and rinsed. I've done everything I thought would work, including vinegar rinses, vinegar rinses with baking soda, and cleaning the trap, but to no avail. This stuff is magical, almost. It comes to me every month because I have this on my Subscribe and Save option as well. The dishwasher only needs one cycle to function exactly as it did when I first received it. Excellent and HIGHLY recommended product. It will be a sad, sad day in my home if they ever stop producing this. This is priceless! After we left some of our dirty clothing just hanging around in the washer for too long before washing, our new upright and stacked washer/dryer was leaving our garments feeling terrible and musty. All of our white clothes and white towels were able to be bleached to remove the odor, but what about the rest of them? How many of our garments are colored, like 80%? I tried everything, including vinegar, baking soda, and borax. washing and soaking. Nothing ever managed to remove the odor from our clothing! At that time, bleach was also the SOLE item that could get rid of the scent off our towels.We're about to burn everything and purchase a brand-new clothing. When you didn't start the article with this information and didn't waste all of our time, money, and hope, I was initially irritated. Disgusting molds appeared out of my dishwater as I prepared to host a meal for my husband's family. NOTE: I purchased this item in September 2017 and have had it for three months at this point.The inner tub was similarly stainless steel at the rental home I lived in, which also had a stainless steel Kitchen Aid dishwasher. It was quite disgusting when I initially opened it and glanced inside. The interior of the door was covered in white scaly buildup, as well as the entire dishwashing dispenser and the edges of the tub. I had absolutely no intention of using it to wash dishes! Oh, Yuk, for sure!Oh Yuk was used twice before I was happy. A small amount that I applied to the worst areas instantly helped to dislodge some of the caked-on grime. I next used a toothbrush to further loosen the toughest material. It looked better when I ran it. Make careful to run it on heavy duty as directed by the bottle's directions. Use the pro scrub or high-heat scrub feature if you have the choice. I now run Oh Yuk through my dishwasher once a month for upkeep.It also came in a sealed plastic bag, which I found to be nice. The solution leaked to some extent, but did not cause a mess within the box; instead, it seeped into a bag. I didn't do much more than wash the bottle with water before using it.
