Does vinegar work as a degreaser?

Vinegar is a popular household cleaning agent and is often used as a degreaser. But does it really work? There is no definitive answer, as it depends on the type of grease and the surface you are cleaning. Vinegar is acidic, so it can help to break down some types of grease. However, it is not as strong as some commercial degreasers and may not be effective on all types of grease. Stanley Home Products Degreaser Concentrate - Removes Stubborn Grease & Grime - Multipurpose Cleaner for Home & Commercial Use (1 Pack) Review:

Happy to discover this on Amazon. I no longer live close to the distributor I previously used, and these concentrated bottles last a very long time. The stuff is fantastic, and I've used it on anything from delicate clothing to get rid of an oily stain to an oil spill on concrete in a brand-new driveway. It required numerous times of brushing the driveway but it eventually worked. extremely useful for greasy pots and dishes. I find it impossible to fathom not having this in my cleaning supplies. Delivered quickly, nicely packed.

Schaeffer Manufacturing 266 Citrol Cleaner and Industrial Degreaser Review:

Citrol removes little water spots from auto glass better than any other, even more expensive glass water spot removers I have spent a fortune on. What works best for me is to spray a small amount of the solution onto a microfiber cloth, run over the affected area, and watch for reflections with a powerful light until the water spots vanish in the garage where it is cool and there is no sunshine or heat being generated on the glass. As it is oil based and won't flash too rapidly, do not be scared to massage it in on glass nonetheless till you see the water spots go. This will give you time to complete the task and enable the product to operate. After that, wipe everything down with a clean microfiber cloth. Next, use a decent glass cleaner to remove any lint. I particularly recommend Sprayway Window Cleaner, but any good glass cleaner will work. If water spots still exist, a more effective procedure would be required, such as the use of a stronger acid-based spot remover. If that doesn't work, since the water spots are so deeply etched into the glass, polishing will be required.Works wonderfully for tar removal, paint transfer, and other tasks in auto detailing, among other things. For any of these applications, if you apply the clear-coat to your paint, I highly advise gently wiping away the oily residue with a soft microfiber cloth and then immediately washing your car with soap, thoroughly rinsing it, and then drying the area before applying your most popular sealant or wax again.5 Star Auto Detailing Product. Simply wash and rinse the clear coat before applying citrol.Excellent Product!

Grease Relief All Purpose Degreaser and Cleaner, 22 Fluid Ounce Review:

I think this is the best laundry detergent/grease remover I've ever used. Because it was no longer sold in stores, my wife had an old bottle of it from the 1990s that we had to ration by the drop (literally!) until we ran out. In the 1980s, Texize produced and sold it after Dow Chemical had developed it. But thanks to Amazon and the internet, the original Grease Relief formula is now again available, and it's right here! I questioned whether it was indeed the same, original recipe. I'm pleased to say that it is. Even an old stain made of grease or oil can be removed from your clothing using this product. Other oil-removing cleansers I had been using simply didn't perform nearly as well as Grease Relief. I ordered 4 bottles as soon as I saw that it was offered by Amazon. It helped remove oil stains from numerous pairs of pants and shirts that no other oil-remover I tried could. All of the oil stains were eliminated by Grease Relief in a single washing machine load. This product is excellent!

Goof Off FG708 Heavy Duty Remover, Pump Spray 8-Ounce Review:

Okay, I'll admit it: I made a mistake. Since my house is still being built, I used clear tape that is supposed to leave no trace so that my new door handles wouldn't get stained or painted by accident. Well, let me tell you, in this Texas weather, it was so hot that my handle almost melted. I had to peel it off, and some of it ended up on my stained door, which matched the contemporary dark effect I was striving for. When I finally succeeded in removing the tape, some of the paint was removed but all of the sticky residue was left behind. I rushed to Amazon in a fit of desperation to get this item, and boy am I glad I did. I dabbed a napkin on the handle and it immediately fell off. I would highly recommend all of their items because it was very simple to use. You truly never know when these material will come in helpful with kids running about.

Goo Gone Kitchen Degreaser - Removes Kitchen Grease, Grime and Baked-on Food - 28 Fl. Oz. Review:

THIS IS AMAZING STUFF! Today I cleaned an apartment that had been occupied for five years but had apparently never, ever been cleaned. Typically, the stove or oven need the most time. The stove and oven were terrible when I arrived today. I used this substance to spray it all down, and I then cleaned the upstairs of the apartment. 2.5 hours later, returned to begin working on the stove. The burner pans were not salvageable, in my opinion. got clean. What's below the stovetop? Didn't even need to scrub; just used paper towels to wipe everything down. I was concerned about the oven's interior. Normally, cleaning particularly bad ovens can take me two to four hours. I cleanse. I use steel pads to scrub. I use pumice stones to scrape. I perform all of this and keep doing it till I am satisfied. I was a little let down when I started working on the oven today. When I opened the oven door, it didn't appear that anything had changed in the past 2.5 hours. In order to examine the oven's surface and know what I'm working with, I normally start by simply wiping it out with paper towels to remove any moist materials, loose particles, and trash. I started wiping the walls with paper towels, and the paper towel quickly removed the most of the burnt-on black greasy muck! I had the impression that spraying it and waiting for it to dry had done little. I was mistaken. There wasn't much burnt-on food left to deal with after I used paper towels to clean the entire oven. All that burned-on black stuff just melted away once I whipped out my reliable metal scrubber and gave the area a quick respray with my regular degreaser. The oven was pitch black when I began. The interior was mostly grayish, which you couldn't see. I finally got this picture, and it took me less time to take it than the stove top and range hood did.

Purple Power 4319PS Industrial Strength Cleaner and Degreaser - 40 oz. Review:

First things first: I did have a significant problem with the packaging, but I never reported it. The cap wasn't completely screwed down when it arrived, and it ended up leaking enough on itself to make the label nearly unreadable. But this is a product review, not an evaluation of the package. Although I regret not taking before and after pictures of this tub, I am embarrassed to admit that I used it when it was still filthy. In a nutshell: My filthy tub, which hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a decade, now looks amazing. Spray it on, give it some time to sit, then use a sponge to wipe it away. Depending on how bad the problem is, you might need to go over it more than once. Because this substance is potent, turn on any exhaust fans you may have or bring a fan inside to remove the vapors. If you have a decent mask, you should definitely wear it. Otherwise, split up your cleaning into manageable parts and take lots of breaks outside. I spent a total of around 2 and a half hours cleaning this filthy bathtub.Version in-depth and wordy: I utterly neglected my acrylic bathtub and shower. First as a result of my teenage rebellion, then as a result of sadness as an adult. Over a decade passed without this tub receiving a thorough cleaning. The acrylic walls' false tile pattern had an orange substance embedded in its grooves, and the tub's floor was stained. I'm genuinely embarrassed by how tacky this tub looked, and I'm even more embarrassed by the fact that I actually took showers and baths in it.Recently, after taking charge of my life, I tried cleaning this tub. I've used a variety of goods, including Magic Erasers, CLR, Kaboom, and Fabuloso. No matter how long and how hard I scrubbed, nothing actually changed. I had a few "slightly more clean" areas at the end, but nothing that was truly clean.I just so happened to see a remark on a site regarding the difficulties in trying to clean stained acrylic tubs where the commenter said that Purple Power worked for them. I used some that I had on hand for model kit paint removal, sprayed it on a particularly nasty foot-shaped patch on the tub's bottom, and precious baby Jesus, it easily wiped away with the sponge. Encouraged by my accomplishment, I chose to clean the shower and bathtub walls on Wednesday night rather than take a bath as I had initially planned.

Weiman Gas Range Cleaner and Degreaser - 12 Ounce - Packaging May Vary Review:

My stove has never been black. Our condo's gas stove has a black top, and it runs on gas. It appeared as though someone had tried to boil lava or spilled acid on the area surrounding the burners since it was dull and lumpy. I looked around for a replacement top because I assumed someone had done something to simply murder the finish (I love the range - it works perfectly and I could not replace the features for anything close to the price I can afford to pay). Since replacement tops are expensive, I considered retouching the finish. When I used a razor knife to cut one of the boils in the polish, gleaming black porcelain was revealed underneath. Therefore, it wasn't lava or acid that destroyed the finish; rather, it was food that had been burned. It took approximately 30 minutes of soaking and another 30 minutes of scraping, but my stove top now looks almost brand new. I thought I would give this a try along with a sharper razor knife. I have no idea what's inside. Although not terrific, the gases aren't all that unpleasant either. Without a doubt, I'd purchase this again.

Grease Police Degreaser Review:

In fact, I impulsively purchased my first bottle of Grease Police in Walmart, right at the cash register. I had to cope with a kitchen floor made of stone and tiles that required something durable. Nothing else, including Formula 409, cleansers, regular Murphy and green cleaners, worked. Additionally, a lot of them have an unpleasant scent and sticky residue after usage. This one truly caught me off guard. I use the "spray" setting to apply it, let it sit for a short while, scrub with a heavy-duty Scotch-Brite pad, then wipe with wet paper towels before using a sponge mop. No odor, no sticky substance. Furthermore, it is obvious which tiles were cleaned in this manner and which ones weren't. I'm purchasing more (this time from Amazon).
