Do I need a 5-point harness for highchair?

If you have an infant or small child, you may be wondering if you need a 5-point harness for your highchair. The answer is maybe. If your child is under 6 months old, you will definitely need a 5-point harness. For older children, it depends on their size and weight. If your child is over 18 months old and over 30 pounds, you probably won't need a 5-point harness. But if your child is smaller or lighter, you may want to consider using one.

Little Growers Baby Splat Mat for Under High Chair - 51" Spill ‘n’ Splash Baby Floor Mat and Baby Food Smock! Under Highchair Mat for Eating Mess with Non-Slip Backing! 100% Waterproof Floor Protector Review:

When I had my first child, I was showered with advice and presents. However, nobody mentioned this infant item that could have saved their lives. My son recently moved into the period of self-feeding solid food, and that comes with the expected rejection and throwing away of objects he doesn't like. This mat makes eating less difficult for him and makes cleanup simpler afterward. It's big, that's for sure! It covers all the space I require and is bigger than his eating area. The water that leaked out of his sippy cup when he flung it the other day just beaded up and landed on the carpet. With a paper towel or cloth, it's simple to clean, but most of the time I just scrunch it up, pick it up, and throw all the food in the trash. That shirt bib is brilliant! I use it in place of a silicone pocket bib he has, but this one is far more useful. I use it specifically on nights when it's pasta or on days when he needs to eat before we go out to protect his clothes. I had no issues cleaning the mat and bib in the washing machine and hanging them to dry. After he eats, I typically give the bib a quick wipe with a cloth to prevent stains. The following evening, I scrub my hands in warm water and hang to dry. Dark stains like those from blueberries, pasta, sweet potatoes, etc. have decreased since I run it through the washing machine around once a week.I heartily endorse. Anything that helps reduce the clutter is a win in my eyes because kids are going to be messy!

Munchkin Protect Booster Chair Cover, Grey Review:

These were unknown to me until lately. This is what I bought to go with my booster seat. It does an excellent job at keeping the food off my favorite fabric chairs. It fits on my chair fairly well and is simple to clean up. My only issue is that it occasionally needs to be adjusted again because it kind of slides around the chair. This is not a deal breaker, but it might be related to the booster seat I purchased to go with it. Since my booster is on the smaller side, I was expecting it would attach it better, but it just doesn't. It is strapped to the bottom and back. Saving your chairs will still be absolutely worth the money.

Paw Legend Washable Highchair Splat Floor Mat- Anti-Slip Silicone Spot Splash Mess Mat(53'' X 53'')-Food Catcher Art Craft Leak Proof Mat,Diamond Review:

Not just a high chair or food mat!I once heard my mother say that she used to put a tarp beneath my sister and I as we ate in the high chair, and up until I had my own children, I thought she was crazy. This is a fantastic concept!Good for all meals, not just sloppy ones. It's sizable yet not overly so. But the grip is what I like the most. Like a bathroom mat or a pair of gripping slippers, it is sticky. Because it isn't particularly thick, it can be washed with other items and doesn't take up much space in the washer. Perhaps there is room in your laundry for a big towel. It is composed of high-quality material that keeps your floors and surfaces clean and enables you to wipe it down quickly before using it again without doing a full wash.My favorite realization is that this will be excellent for picnics and arts and crafts activities. Use it as a play mat at the park or to cover your table so that paint or markers don't get all over it. Compared to a picnic mat or blanket, it's much simpler to wash. Absolutely worthwhile!

51" Splat Mat for Under High Chair/Arts/Crafts, Wo Baby Washable Spill Mat Water-resistant Anti-slip Floor Splash Mat, Portable Play Mat and Table Cloth Review:

UPDATE AFTERUnanimously, yeah! My days of cleaning the floor after every meal on my hands and knees are long gone. So here's the situation: despite our best efforts to redirect and educate him not to, my 20-month-old loves to hurl his food. We didn't expect this phase to linger as long as it has, and I was becoming weary of daily floor cleaning. We used one of those disposable tablecloths with the waterproof plastic top and felt bottom before purchasing this splat mat. That worked reasonably well until it got caught in our son's Boon Flair highchair wheels and began to tear. After using it for a few weeks, I can attest that it is absolutely worth the $24 asking price even though at first I thought it was a bit pricey for a piece of fabric designed to collect food. I appreciate the mat's grippy bottom, which makes it simple for us to roll his highchair on and off. The fabric has excellent waterproof properties, and the pattern of arrows against the gray backdrop is charming and neutral. It is also stain-resistant and cleans up beautifully and conveniently in the washer. Despite the instructions saying to hang dry it, I have done so without any negative consequences. Because my son's arm is fairly strong and food occasionally flies outside the breadth of the mat, my only desire is that it were a little bit wider. Other than that, this is a great splat mat.August 2019 Update:As my son approaches the age of three, he has moved past the stage of tossing food, but this useful small splat pad is still in use. Play-Doh, painting, and kinetic sand have all been utilized with it. It works wonders in containing and catching messes! My formerly gray mat is now covered with a rainbow of paint splatters from my little child's artwork, but I kind of like it since it makes me think of all the fun he's having as a toddler. If you purchase this mat for your new eater, you should think about keeping it through the toddler years because it will continue to pay off.

Inglesina Fast Dining Tray Plus, Clear Review:

I've had this for over a year and a half, and it's still fantastic. Considering the incline, I was going to give this four stars. As I was preparing to write this review, I went to have a look at it and noticed the incline. It has always had a tiny inclination, which can occasionally be unpleasant, but not enough to prevent us from using it. Recently, I'd noticed that the tray seemed to lay a little bit flatter when it wasn't completely attached to one side when my toddler started fidgeting with it and pulling up on it occasionally. We always attach it to the metal tube section of the chair right behind the black rubber bits when I was looking at it for my review and fiddling with it. I put it up onto the black rubber part of the dining chairs handle and pressed down, and it popped down and lays flat! I cannot imagine it! Although it's now 99% flat, it still appears to come off the rubber piece and onto the metal. When you placed a crayon on it, it stayed put. Certainly did in the past! I'm not sure if this will be effective for everyone, but I've changed it to 5 stars now. I wasn't aware of the advice to have the tray in place before securing the chair, so I'm not sure if it would have worked or not.We have always washed it by hand. The only change I could make to it right now would be if it stuck out longer to fill the space between the table and the front of the chair or had a small trough on the end to catch food in.

Minnebaby High Chair Straps, Replacement 5 Point Harness Straps for High Chair Review:

Our highchair lacked restraints and was a hand-me-down. Due to the lack of reviews, I was hesitant to buy the Minnebaby High Chair Straps. I made the decision that, given their modest cost, I could just toss them out if they turned out to be rubbish.I'm delighted by this! I pulled, twisted, and tugged on these. I examined every buckle and seam. These straps appear to be quite sturdy and reliable. The process of attaching them to our high chair was easy and clear-cut. Although there are instructions, they are straightforward. My youngster cannot unbuckle himself because the buckle is too strong, yet an adult can do it with ease (even with arthritis in my hands). My son appears at ease and safe. He hasn't been able to get out of his chair yet, so I don't need to watch him when I cook or eat. (Obviously, never leave your child alone in a highchair!)

Stokke Tripp Trapp Tray, White Review:

I did a LOT of research before buying a high chair. like, an absurdly long time. The Baby Bjorn, four mothers, and the Stokke were my final three choices. I was worried about the Baby Bjorn because several reviewers claimed that a taller child will rapidly outgrow it. I didn't want to spend the money on a chair that my son will outgrow so quickly because he is in the 94th percentile for height. Numerous complaints regarding kids being able to kick the tray off were made by the four mothers. The fact that he would be able to use this chair for many years was what ultimately convinced me to buy it. I can tell that after using it for a while, we genuinely adore it. He enjoys sitting in it, it's incredibly simple to clean, and I love that as he gets bigger, we can take away the tray and let him join us at the table. It was expensive, but I believe it was well worth it considering how long we would be able to use it. If/when we have a second child, I'll purchase a second one!

Bumbo Play Tray - Feeding Tray and Play Surface for Bumbo Floor Seat Review:

Perfect suit for my three-month-old baby, who even at her young age just loves to be seated. She adores the tray and toy I also gave her.
