UPDATE: It appears that my new Apple charging case is now functional. I gave this product 4 stars since there are no comprehensive instructions or troubleshooting manuals included with it. After going through the process detailed in my initial review post below, I tried pressing the button on the brand-new, empty charging case once again to pair it with my iPhone via Bluetooth after leaving it plugged in for a period of time (six or more hours). Unexpectedly, it connected, and my iPhone's battery status widget said that the charging case had 57% charge left. It was fully charged by the time I finished charging it the following morning. My old AirPods from the first generation charged in 15 minutes after I placed them in the new charging case. I don't know why the new case took so long to charge to 100% the first time I plugged it in, why it flashed orange, and why it originally had trouble connecting over Bluetooth (maybe case battery was too low to connect). If you purchase this item, I strongly advise taking it out of the box, using an Apple lightning cable to plug it into an Apple charging block, magnetic charging pad, or Apple laptop lightning port to charge it over night (leave AirPods out of the case and charge it for at least 12 hours), and doing this BEFORE trying to connect via Bluetooth or inserting your AirPods into the new case to charge.—————————-Post original review:I purchased a replacement case that can be recharged using either an Apple lightning wire or a magnetic charging station. My Apple Air Pods fit beautifully in this case. The rubber ring that holds the d-ring is easy to open and close, and it doesn't appear as like it will soon wear out. The case feels good in my hand and isn't overly thick. You can see in the photographs that when I open the case, the Air Pods case slides up somewhat because of the loop joining the rubber case's lid to the rest of the body, even though I have never had my Air Pods fall out of the case itself.
