The ideal method for securing a table top is to use table top fasteners from Rok Hardware. Just make a shallow 3/8" to 1/2" saw cut on the inside of the table skirt, starting at the top side. Around the top, space the fasteners about every 12" or at least one on each side. The fasteners permit the wood to move with the seasons. If used on outdoor furniture, the Rok Fasteners will rust because they are not coated but do have a light oil coating from the manufacturing process. I use the fasteners exactly as they are, however if rust is a problem, a layer of spray paint would stop it.

I bought these plus Stanley Hardware V8025 3" Heavy Duty Railing Bracket in Polished Brass handrail support brackets, which are (my original type).These seemed prettier and were really less expensive with my additional order, so I figured I'd grab them (s). However, these outperform my initial support brackets by a wide margin. These feature a finer polished brass appearance and are made of sturdy solid brass. With these high-quality brackets, I'm really pleased.I will save the Stanley Hardware V8025 Handrail Brackets in case I need them, but I don't anticipate doing so for at least 20 years because I am so confident in the durability of the Ives by Schlage 59A3 Hand Rail Brackets.

To go along with a new bedroom set I am making for my daughter, I bought this product. She desired a minimalistic Scandinavian Modern bedroom suite. (Imagine IKEA)Poplar is used to construct the bed, and 1x8 rails are attached to 3x3 posts. I replaced the supplied screws with nicer 3/4 inch wood screws on the rails and 1 1/2 inch wood screws on the posts because I did not like the size or appearance of the original ones.Making sure I had enough clearance on the bed real was the one thing I neglected to do during the process. I made the mattress/box spring support too long so that the two bracket sections could join. Everything will line up perfectly if you trim the support 2 inches short on each end.

I purchased them to fix my son's bed. He has a crib that can be turned into a bed, but it's not the best-designed crib. One day as I was making the bed, the railings broke. Due to the height of the bracket and the spread of the screws, which I believe provides the bracket greater strength, especially in light of the broken rails, I was looking for an alternative to the one that came with the bed when I settled on these. Another plus is that they were a little less expensive than the equivalent brackets from Rockler.I only required a little glue, a few clamps, and these brackets.Alignment is important when using brackets like this, so I used a scribe to record the locations of the brackets on each piece before attaching them and putting everything together. Now rock sturdy and better than new, the bed!

I recently purchased a computer desk that rolls on wheels. The desk's joints failed, and the side boards were coming apart from the rear section.Since the desk's joints are put under a lot of strain when it is moved, I assumed the glue would not be strong enough to hold it together.The braces are hidden since I screwed them into the desk's internal areas. Although not particularly beautiful, they did a good job of maintaining everything's stability at right angles.

For the price, this is a fantastic product! Because of the other reports concerning the damaged pieces, I was initially hesitant. In addition, a buddy of mine had to purchase additional hardware-store items in order to hang the item. However, I had NONE of the problems stated above. The instructions for hanging the item are not the best, which is the sole reason I awarded 4 instead of 5 stars. If you are handy, you generally won't need instructions; but, if you are not so handy, stages 2-4 may be a little confusing.
