 This chair mat is awesome. First off let’s talk about the build quality. With most chair mats you buy, the quality you get on them they might last you a couple weeks to a month, they aren’t thick, or fully translucent. But with this chair mat however, it is! It is 1/5 thick this matt is a monster! When I say crystal clear I mean it. This looks like a large piece of glass. If you were going to put it on carpet, hardwood, tile, etc. It sets nice and looks great. The only why you can tell it’s there is because the light bounces off it differently then the normal flooring would. I weigh 190 lbs. and I thought after a few days it would be scratch up due to the weight on my wheels to the displacement on the mat, but to my knowledge there were no scratches! This mat is built like a champ. It has a really large size to it too, so if you like to roll around in your chair more you’re not confided to a tight space. When your chair gets on the mat to it rolls like butter. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a chair mat for the office, home, or just what’s to have mobility while working/playing on their computer 10/10.

First, let me say this was not purchased with any intent to use in an office setting. Instead it covers the van carpet where my husband has to transfer in his wheelchair. It is easy for him to roll across to position chair and because it is super durable it holds all his weight and that of the wheelchair. I got the one without the cut out and it was a perfect fit between his tight downs. Before, we had additional thin carpet, but it would often get caught in the lift. This was a BIG improvement.

My only complaint is that the website I ordered from said it was shipped flat, which was untrue. It was necessary to lay it in the sun to get it to soften enough to lay flat on my hardwood floor. It might have eventually flattened but I did not have room nor time to wait for it to occur. The sun did the trick in about an hour. Once installed I am very pleased with it. It lays flat and does not move as I work at my desk.
i would gladly give it 5 stars if it had arrived and been usable as received.

47" by 35". Is truly 1/8 inch thick. Crystal clear so it shows the beauty of my new flooring though the mat. It has an invisible coating on one side that keeps the mat in place as the wheeled chair rolls over it. Has not moved even an inch on my vinyl plank flooring after 1 week of daily use of the chair, moving the chair back & forth many times a day. One corner & the center of one of the 47 inch long edges seems to be off the floor a tiny bit, but not enough to cause any tripping danger. It may flatten out after some time or when the temperature gets a bit warmer as it is in an area with AC set to 70 degrees. I have not tried anything to flatten it out in these areas as it is not causing a problem for me or the other person who uses the chair. Its clarity, thickness, floor protection, and the fact that it always stays in place more than makes up for the slight rising of the center of one edge & one corner. The quality & thickness of this item insures that it will last a very long time. Note that this is being used on a hard floor, not a carpet, so I cannot comment on if it would work on a carpet. I am going to order two more for 2 other rolling chairs on the same type of flooring.

I purchased this product not sure if it would work because of complaints of the edges curling. The mat came boxed and rolled that caused the two ends to curl down (not up) when placed on the hardwood floor. The instructions said to lay it down and after a day it would lay flat. I decided to take a hair dryer and heated the two edges for a couple of minutes and it lays perfectly flat. The desk chair had ball type rollers and I found they would have marked the mat and probably the hardwood floor under it. I also replaced the ball rollers with double wheeled ones which work much better protecting the wood fl. My advice it to invest in both wheels and the mat.

Perfect for the job. Though it came rolled up, that was actually an advantage. Just rolled out onto the floor with minimal curve that lays form flat on hardwood within a couple of hours. Love the tapered edge as it makes rolling on and off super easy. Didn't want one with the tab, just trimmed 2 small pieces to go around the legs as desk too heavy to lift. Easy to cut with scissors, but definitely send very durable. Much better than those super pricy options that work less well for more money! Also appreciate the slightly larger size.

So, I've been using this at my computer desk at home for about seven months now, and I can confirm that it has held up quite nicely. The slightly textured surface has performed well and despite regular daily use shows very little signs of wear.

The only problem I have is that the smooth side of this mat is SO smooth that it can slide quite easily on a laminate floor. When I moved into my new apartment and this chair mat was sitting in front of my desk without anything like a chair or an edge of some piece of furniture to hold it in place, there were two different occasions where perhaps had I not been able to call upon some slumbering muscle memory from my old skateboarding days, I might have pulled an unintended aerial pratfall similar to one of the Wet Bandits from Home Alone.

Other than that, this is a very durable mat, and the flip-side to the issue above is that it's gentle to laminate and/or wood floors. So, if the intended use or location will allow the mat to be positioned in a secure manner, you should have little concern about it drifting or sliding around.

Overall it's a decent chair mat. It's smooth on the bottom, so it can slide around a little. My only problem with it is that it is very thin. When I bought chair mats many years ago they were much thicker and added another layer of support to the floor. This one is easily half the thickness of my old ones, but this of course makes it easy to ship. If you need a mat mostly to protect your existing floor from the casters of your chair, this will be perfect.

Another reviewer saved me from endless frustration. This item arrives in a very tight coil and is as hard as a Ken doll's abs. You will not be able to lay it flat.

There is a solution! It needs heat. Get a hairdryer and a couple weights (I used chairs). As the heat relaxes the plastic, you can slowly unravel the plastic and it will lie flat with no problems or curling. The chairmat will retain it's shape as it cools.

The plastic is thick enough to protect my carpet and durable. You just got to finesse it.
