Are handheld shower heads worth it?

Handheld shower heads can be a great addition to your shower, providing you with more flexibility and convenience. However, they are not for everyone, and there are a few things you should consider before purchasing one. Handheld shower heads can be more expensive than traditional shower heads, so you will want to make sure that you really need the extra features that they offer. If you have a small shower, you may not need a handheld shower head, as you can simply move around to get the water where you need it. Another thing to consider is whether you need a det

Can you add a handheld to an existing shower head?

If you're looking for a more luxurious showering experience, or if you have limited mobility and need a handheld shower head, you can add a handheld shower head to your existing shower head. Most handheld shower heads simply unscrew from the shower head and screw back on to the shower arm. If your shower head is attached to a shower arm with a set screw, you'll need to remove the set screw before you can remove the shower head. Once the new shower head is in place, screw the set screw back on to secure it.

Can you convert a fixed shower head to handheld?

If you have a fixed shower head and want to convert it to a handheld shower head, you can do so with a few tools. You will need a handheld shower head, a shower arm, and a T-fitting. You will also need a wrench to remove the old shower head, and a drill to make new holes.

Do showerheads make a difference?

There are a lot of different types of showerheads on the market these days, from high-pressure to low-flow. So, do showerheads make a difference? It depends on what you're looking for. If you're concerned about water conservation, then a low-flow showerhead is a good choice. These showerheads use less water without sacrificing water pressure, so you can still enjoy a refreshing shower. If you're looking for a more powerful shower, then a high-pressure showerhead might be a better option. These showerheads can increase water pressure by

WASSA High Pressure Handheld Shower Head, 9 Spray Settings Hand Held Showerhead with 60 Inch Hose, Washer, Adjustable Showerarm Mount and Installation Guide, Chrome Review:

Let me tell you about this business, people. I purchased their 3 inch low pressure shower head around eight months ago. A card explaining how to obtain a free shower head was included in the box. They stated that they had run out when I called them. They expressed regret for the trouble. I remarked, "No big deal." Amazing shower head, I must say. I've never used a low water head better.Let's go back to this month's first. They emailed me eight months after I first contacted them to say they had a $25 shower head available for free. I felt stunned. I followed their procedure, and the following day the new one was on its way.Today I received the replacement one. It equals the first one in quality.Folks In my 43 years of life, I believe this company's customer service to be the best. They made an extra effort to get in touch with me and accepted the free shower head. How is it almost a year later?Never before! I want to thank WASSA's Angela. You are incredible.Great business, fantastic customer support, and most importantly, GREAT PRODUCT! I greatly appreciate it.

High-Pressure Handheld Shower Head 6-Setting - Luxury 5" Handheld Rain Showerhead with Hose - Powerful Shower Spray Even with Low Water Pressure in Supply Pipeline - Low Flow Rainfall Shower-Head Review:

This thing was packed really well. Even if your delivery man tries to do an Ace Ventura on you, I can assure you your product will survive the assault.Directions were basic and easy to follow. I would propose placing "Only apply pipe tape if leaks occur after installation," AFTER the line where you say "DO NOT apply pipe tape". I followed your directions and as usual it started to leak after installing it. It wasn't until the VERY bottom of the page did I see the portion where you suggested pipe tape be used if leaking happened. It would've saved me some hassel. Other than that, this shower head is wonderful! I have owned SEVERAL handheld shower heads in my lifetime and I've never had one with such strength. This baby will clean you in minutes and shampoo will wash away in seconds. I'm not sure if this will matter to anyone, but it's such a strange experience that I do had to tell it. Like I mentioned, I have bought SEVERAL handheld howerheads and this is the first one where it literally seems like it slides in and out of the resting post. This is fairly pleasing because it doesn't feel like it sticks, nor does it feel like it's going to fall out anytime soon. The item is beautifully crafted, it doesn't feel flimsy and the numerous functionalities are lovely. I can see this showerhead lasting a long time, and that's coming from someone who chose this one over 3 or 4 others that had 4 star ratings of 3,000 or more reviews. Try this one, you won't be disappointed!

YOO.MEE High Pressure Handheld Shower Head with Powerful Shower Spray against Low Pressure Water Supply Pipeline, Multi-functions, w/ 79'' Hose, Bracket, Flow Regulator, Brushed Nickel Review:

It's hard to believe, but my ancient WaterPik shower head sprayer broke after just 38 years! It is obvious that they no longer produce high-quality construction. Of course I'm joking, but I had to search for a new handheld shower head. Before I could get what I wanted, I had to purchase two of them from Amazon. The first, an Ezelia brand, functioned alright but did not produce the spray pattern I was looking for; instead, it produced a donut appearance since it was unable to apply the same type of spray where it was needed most. The guest bathroom ended up getting that sprayer. However, this Yoo.Mee device emits a wonderful, powerful UNIFORM PATTERN spray. The water pressure and spray pattern are just what I was looking for. It emits a firm but comfortable spray, is simple to install, adjust, and looks really great (I chose the brushed nickel rather than the chrome-colored unit). I heartily endorse it.Yoo.Mee provided a plastic pressure-adjustable collar to be installed between the shower head and the hose, but I removed it and used the maximum pressure instead since I felt the collar to be too rigid to adjust. The company requests that customers "capture a true Spray shot with passion and fresh," according to the product description. Although I'm not fully sure what the broken English expression means, it somehow sounds correct. I now wake up with enthusiasm every morning!

AquaDance High Pressure 6-Setting 3.5" Chrome Face Handheld Shower with Hose for the Ultimate Shower Experience! Officially Independently Tested to Meet Strict US Quality & Performance Standards! Review:

I have two of these shower heads that I bought, installed, and used. I would heartily advise anyone who is interested in them. Background: I'm currently renting a new place and I've noticed that I greatly miss my former home's shower head with a hose. But I didn't want to spend a lot on fixtures because I'm renting. I got this one for my bathroom because it was reasonably priced and had nice ratings. Within two days, there was a battle in the house over who got to use the shower that had this. I ultimately purchased a second one within a week. This is what I observed:PROS: It is attractive (nicer than I expected for the price).- Installation instructions were simple and straightforward when it arrived.- The installation process was simple. It didn't take more than three minutes, and no tools were needed.- I was concerned that my water pressure might not be sufficient for this to function properly, but that was unfounded. Regardless matter the setting, it performs admirably. In some conditions, the water pressure actually seems to be amplified.- The shower head fits and exits the mount with ease.- The parameters can be changed with ease.- Although it's not shown in the picture, I was able to reinstall my hanging shower caddy and the hose/mount had no adverse effects.- It's being used several times a day for approximately two weeks, and it's doing fantastic.I'm struggling to think of anything negative to say about this. The only thing that comes to me is that I realized it was constructed of a fairly lightweight plastic when I initially opened the box and picked it up. That made me wonder if the final product would be of high quality. The moment I used it for the first time, that worry vanished. This is just as wonderful as the more pricey ones I've previously bought.UPDATE: Both of these are still going strong after 4 months of daily use. We still adore them just as much as we did on day one.

Ezelia High Pressure Shower Head, 5-Settings Hand Held Shower Head with 60 Inches Stainless Steel Hose, Adjustable Angle Bracket, Check Valve, Chrome Review:

I formerly owned a massager for the handheld shower head. However, it eventually reached the point where it was continuously leaking and many of the pores were sealed off by mineral buildup. I took it out and switched back to a regular shower head. And I despised it. I spent a lot of time searching for a new handheld shower head massager that was reasonably priced before getting this one, and I'm pleased I waited. It's a terrific massager. Installing it is simple and easy. I think it took me 5 minutes. It has a simple look and is simple to use, but it still includes a variety of water flow settings. You can switch between a soft mist, a regular shower, and a more vigorous massage. From a broad spray to a closer-in flow. It is great to ensure that all of the shampoo is removed from your hair and that every pore and crevice has been thoroughly washed. Since it is lightweight, using and handling it is simple. Has a good long reach and no leaks at all. I might need to purchase one for the guest shower as well because of the extremely affordable price.

Handheld Shower Head High Pressure 5 Spray Settings Massage Spa Detachable Hand Held Showerhead Chrome Face with Hose and Adjustable Bracket Review:

Our home dates back to the 1920s. The 1980s saw the last re-pipe. Without a doubt, we have terrible water pressure! Because of the reviews and the fact that it meets our needs, I gambled on this product. I reasoned that a handheld showerhead would be much safer because my mother is getting older and nearly fell in the shower. Due to the additional length of flex-line that the water would have to pass through on its way to the shower head, I was concerned that a handheld would lose water pressure. Because I'm short and the length of the handle raises the height of the shower head, I also needed a setup with an adjustable bracket. B-I-N-G-O! The water restrictor was the first thing I removed. It took no more than two minutes. It took under 15 minutes to install everything. OMG!!! I haven't had a good shower in this house in at least three years, but I just had one. My preferred settings are rain mist and power mist. The fact that my mother can take a shower while sitting down without falling is the most important, followed by my assurance that I've thoroughly rinsed the shampoo out of my hair. It also makes bathing my dogs 75% simpler, which is a bonus. The pitcher I've been using to rinse and wet my dogs is no longer there. Thank you from my back. Yes, the plastic is chrome-plated. Probably not for twenty years. Okay, fine. My elderly mother can now safely shower thanks to the improved water pressure, and bathing my dogs is now much simpler. It is crucial to use each of the three washers that are provided. The washer between the goose-neck and the adapter unit was something I initially forgot to install. Unwise move Water sprayed all over. However, the solution was simple. Three washers were supplied and all three washers must be installed. The little roll of teflon tape was an added bonus. I taped every single connection, including the ball joint. The bottom line is that it not only works, it works superbly. It's stylish, is GREAT for older plumbing, well-water systems or just flat out poor water pressure. It adds a modicum of safety for the elderly and disabled, and is fully adjustable. For the price, it can't be beat. Sure, I could have paid $200 for a chrome-covered, brass fixture, but in the long run, I don't cherish the thought of hefting a solid brass, handheld shower handle. I prefer lightweight and functional.

AquaDance 7" Premium High Pressure 3-Way Rainfall Combo for The Best of Both Worlds-Enjoy Luxurious Rain Showerhead and 6-Setting Hand Held Shower Separately or Together - Chrome Finish - 3328 Review:

Likes:- The pressure in handheld showers is excellent.- The handheld and the shower head can both function separately and together.- There are 6 settings on both the shower head and the handheld.- The shower head's size is ideal for my shower.- Assembling it was quite simple. (I advise purchasing your own sealing tape because the supplied one is subpar.)- It has a posh appearance and a lovely color.- It is simple to use. It's unquestionably affordable.Dislikes:A rubber washer was missing from mine. Fortunately, I could utilize one from the one I was changing.- The seal tape that is included is really thin. To make your life easier, I advise investing in some quality sealing tape.- Not all six settings are functional when the handheld and shower head are both on. When they are both active at the same time, I think three of the settings are compatible with both.- The handheld shower has stronger pressure than the shower head. But it's adequate.- When both are turned on at once, the pressure decreases.- The handheld's hose isn't particularly lengthy.- Unlike the shower head, the handheld cannot be changed or moved while it is in its holster. (I suppose I could locate a unique attachment to support this.)Regarding the review I read that claimed the handheld didn't fit in its holster, I can assure anyone who read that review that it does.I posted a video, so watch it. I'm hoping that this will be useful to anyone choosing a shower head.

AquaStorm by HotelSpa 30-Setting SpiralFlo 3-Way HIGH PRESSURE Luxury Shower Head/Handheld Showerhead Combo with Water Saving Economy Mode/Chrome Review:

This thing’s quite good! I enjoy the spritz setting, with hot water it offers a lovely sauna effect. Installation was easier than expected. Like that they can both be employed at once without lessening each other’s pressure. The fact it holds the removable handle section is wonderful too, since it spared me having to find a method to mount a holster to my tiles.I ordered it for my wife for xmas, and was unhappy that it delivered in just a plain brown box full of components, no packaging. Just a carton of plumbing materials. So it wasn’t as sexual a present as one you might get at Bed Bath

Hydroluxe 1433 Handheld Showerhead & Rain Shower Combo. High Pressure 24 Function 4" Face Dual 2 in 1 Shower Head System with Stainless Steel Hose, Patented 3-way Water Diverter in All-Chrome Finish Review:

First of all... disregard any review you ever read on Amazon for a shower-head in THIS price range that starts with... "It seems great but it's only made of plastic". That right there is an indication that the person reviewing these products is somewhat delusional. There are exactly ZERO handheld shower heads in this price range that are made out of metal. Repeat: ZERO. If you want one made of metal, be prepared to spend 3-4 times this amount, if you're not prepared to spend that, don't complain that your product is not made of metal. Adding 'it's not made of metal' as a detriment is just not a valid criticism... Metal in this price range is a pure pipe-dream, and you should skip any review that starts with that lament.Yes, everything (except the hose for the handheld) in this shower head combo is made of plastic, but its hardened composite plastic and is among the sturdiest I've found for shower heads in this price range, easily comparable to the MOEN I used to own (which cost more) (which cost more). The vac-metal chrome finish seems solid so far but only time and wear and tear will tell me how it will hold up. As mentioned the hose connecting the handheld to the valve IS indeed metal, and that automatically makes it better than the more expensive MOEN I owned, which had a plastic casing on it's hose.Install was simple and tools are not needed. Using the included washers and plumbers tape (use tape on the shower pipe ONLY) made it so my install was 100% leak free. Be sure to tighten the valve to the shower pipe as far as it can go so it won't move when you use the engage switch or grab for the handheld. Let some hot water run through the valve if you can't get it turned all the way into the proper position because of this. However be sure not to over-tighten it or its conceivable you may crack the valve. This isn't as hard as it sounds... just use good judgement.Suggestion: If you have mediocre to low water pressure: remove the flow control piece (easily removed with a small flathead screwdriver) from BOTH the fixed head AND the handheld unit. Then use them one at a time (engaging both at the same time with the switch will yield mediocre results if you water pressure isn't up to snuff). If you have good to great water pressure I suggest you remove the flow control piece from ONLY the handheld unit and leave it in the fixed shower head. I have good water pressure and found that the fixed head put out TOO STRONG water pressure with the flow control removed. This way you can also engage both heads at the same time. Without the flow control being left in the fixed head, when you engage both you get a stronger flow out of the fixed head and a mediocre to weak flow out of the handheld. This is because of water seeking the path of least resistance and not because of a design flaw. More water will rush out of the fixed head because it's closest to the valve. Leaving the flow control in the fixed head solved this imbalance issue for me. If you plan on using only one head at the same time I would still recommend the same. I found the fixed head put out TOO MUCH pressure without it's flow control valve, but again this all depends on your individual water pressure and your own individual feelings on how much is too much water pressure... so as they say "your results may vary".The 'pause' mode withstanding, I really like the different modes these heads offer. You've got your standard high rain flow (normal shower stuff), a lower flow for those with high water pressure or are eco-conscious (not for me), the massage function (recommend you engage only one shower head to use this mode for maximum pressure output), the aforementioned pause mode (kind of useless in my opinion, if I want to pause I'll just shut off the water), and a really cool mist mode that even puts out a bit of a breeze when it's engaged (this mode will be GREAT for use during cold and cough season) (this mode will be GREAT for use during cold and cough season). Both the handheld and the fixed head offer all these modes, although I found the switch on the fixed head hard to move without rotating the entire head. Because of that you'll need two hands to change the mode on the fixed head.As a person with off and on lower back and neck problems, having and using both heads at the same time is going to come in handy. I can aim one stream at my back, one at my neck and get hydro-therapy for both at the same time.Extremely satisfied with this purchase. I compared it to a couple of the other items on Amazon in this price range and it beats them all. It also beats out ANY head in this price range (or 2x this price range) that you'll find at HD or Lowes. If you're realistic about what kind of product you'll get for this price range, this head combo will not disappoint you.Four stars because of the rigidness of turning the dial on the fixed head (if I could give it 4.5 stars I would), and I'm reserving the fifth star right now to see about the lifespan of this product. I will update this review as time goes on and add on that 5th star if this thing lasts for me.

DreamSpa Ultra-Luxury 9" Rainfall Shower Head/Handheld Combo. Convenient Push-Button Flow Control Button for easy one-handed operation. Switch flow settings with the same hand! Premium Chrome Review:

Amazing combination, especially when combined with a couple upgrades. Despite feeling plastic-y, both pieces have a very excellent finish and aesthetic. The directions are rather clear. The shower wand's three functions are convenient, and the rainfall head really does leave you feeling wet, especially if you can place it straight overhead using a shower arm extender.Instead of only having a two-way diverter, I wish it had a three-way option so you could use the wand and shower head together. Additionally, compared to the three-way diverter I had been using for years, the two-way diverter it came with had a far more difficult installation. I knew what to get because I already owned a three-way diverter from a previous set, and I can now use both simultaneously as a result! Decadence:) KES Shower Arm with 3-Way Diverter, Polished Chrome, Handheld Shower and Shower Head, PV5Although the showerhead isn't particularly heavy, it does require a strong shower arm to support it. The AKDY one ended up being incredibly solid and long enough to provide me with the installation I was hoping for. Brass Shower Head Arm Panel with Adjustable Height, 11" Length, AKDY®The shower wand's supplied suction cup mount is excellent because it enables me to move the wand anywhere. When I'm using both fixtures at once, it's convenient to occasionally be able to relocate it (I have tile, if you have a textured installation then you have to use the adhesive.) The champagne spray is nice and tingling, and the waterfall setting on the wand is wonderful for rinsing out shampoo or conditioner. The result is an outstanding setup that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

Do you face forward or backward in the shower?

When showering, most people face the water flow head on. This allows the water to evenly hit all parts of the body and provides the best coverage. Facing the water also prevents water from spraying all over the bathroom and getting the floor wet.

Do you need a diverter for a hand held shower?

Do you need a diverter for a hand held shower? If you want to use a hand held shower, you will need a diverter. A diverter is a device that allows you to change the water flow from the shower head to the hand held shower. Without a diverter, the water will only flow from the shower head and not the hand held shower.

How do you divert water from shower head to handheld?

If you want to divert water from your shower head to your handheld shower head, you will need to purchase a diverter valve. This valve will screw onto the shower arm and will have two outlets, one for the shower head and one for the handheld shower head. Once the valve is installed, you will be able to choose which shower head you want the water to come out of by turning the diverter knob.

How much should you spend on a shower head?

Is 1.75 a good flow rate for a shower head?

1.75 gallons per minute is the maximum flow rate allowed by the U.S. Department of Energy. This flow rate allows you to save water without sacrificing water pressure.

Is 1.8 or 2.5 gpm better?

If you’re looking for a water-saving shower head, you may be wondering if a 1.8 or 2.5 gallon per minute (gpm) shower head is better. To answer this question, it’s important to understand how much water your shower head is using. The average showerhead uses about 2.5 gallons of water per minute (gpm). A 1.8 gpm shower head will use about 40% less water than the average shower head. This can save you money on your water bill and help conserve water. If
