I didn't think such a basic and affordable instrument would function before getting this one. Hurricane Florence severely damaged our home in September, so I wasn't able to clean and winterize our above-ground pool as well as I would have liked. We hardly had enough time to attach the cover. It goes without saying that the bottom of my pool was quite a mess. Everything possible was in the bottom of my pool, including leaves and funk. To try to pull the leaves out, I initially used the extension pole with the skimmer. Then I gave my regular vacuum with the sand filter a go. The entrance of the vacuum head keeps becoming blocked. I called it a day after a few hours of not making any progress. During my search on Amazon, I discovered this leaf vacuum. OMG! My best financial decision ever. 6 bags of leaves and other gross stuff had to be removed from the pool in no more than 45 minutes. My pool is now clear of stink and leaves. I was not required to connect it to my sand filter. I simply attached the garden hose and the pole extension from the existing skimmer. Another fantastic feature of this device is that you may use your filter while using it, allowing it to catch everything that is churned up from the bottom. It was really effective in a short period of time and not at all taxing. So if you're debating whether to buy or not to buy this product. Buy it! It's great and it works!

My neighbor, with whom I share a fence, has a huge maple tree and a big cottonwood tree in her back yard, and I have an unground pool. As you might expect, the worst seasons for my pool are fall and spring. Without a leaf vacuum, I could not maintain a pool. Turning the bag over upside down with the opening at the top in your hands is one tip I've learnt to assist the bag stay vertical when vacuuming. Put a tennis ball through the net's bottom opening. Wrap the tennis ball with a tie wrap and place it outside the bag. The tennis ball-attached leaf vacuum will stay vertical as you hoover up the leaves in your pool once you put it in there.

I have an indoor pool and spa. As the spa in my pool is not vacuumed automatically, debris and leaves that fall into the spa remain there and rot until I remove them. I reside in Palm Springs, so it shouldn't have been difficult to find something like this, but I looked in all the local pool businesses without success. Cool thing. Contains four short, screw-together aluminum poles with rubber grip handles (for a total of roughly 44) "), so it will function perfectly for my in-ground spa as is, but it may also be used with a regular long vacuum pole. To be clear, the filter system in your pool is not necessary for this vacuum to function. Garden hoses are simply connected to the threaded quick-release fitting, snapped onto the unit's body, and turned on. The hose's "jet" motion draws leaves, insects, and other debris into the mesh bag as it sprays up through the nozzle pointed away from the pool or spa's bottom. You simply empty the mesh bag after you're done. Strangely, some of the reviews claim that users use this product to clean their entire swimming pool, which is unfathomable given that the nozzle is just 7 inches long "It would be like vacuuming your home with an upholstery nozzle: too narrow, far too little. This item arrived swiftly and was handled with great care. It is just as described. There is a much larger instrument that functions in the same way if you're wondering what your alternatives are for use in a full-sized swimming pool after reading this (venturi effect). This item performs admirably. The pool floor and side walls are thoroughly cleaned all the way to the top. This is a replacement for a worn-out pool cleaner. Because of the larger intake pipe that allows dirt, leaves, twigs, and acorns to pass through, this one is considerably superior than the old one. The old one had an intake pipe made of hard plastic that required almost constant supervision because even the smallest branch would cause it to halt. The flexible rubber intake pipe on this new one allows for the passage of leaves, twigs, and acorns. Only a few times this summer have huge, easily-pushed-through acorns caused it to stop. Excellent value for the money, and it really does perform well! very content.

I ordered this yesterday after reading reviews, and I just got it today. Our 12 x 30 above ground pool has a saltwater filtration system. Although the saltwater system has been excellent, there was occasionally some little detritus on the pool's bottom.Actually, I was astonished at how well this worked. Since there weren't many possibilities for a handheld rechargeable vacuum, I tried to avoid using a hose system. I didn't even have to get in the pool for this one to clean the bottom. It came with two attachments and an extensible rod/handle. It removed anything little from the pool's bottom and stirred up the larger objects long enough for the skimmer to work. The on/off button was simple to use, and the two filters are good.If something goes wrong, I'll update this review.Edit: I uploaded some before and after photos after using it for a second day.

You better believe I hesitated a little before making this vacuum purchase. We have an above-ground pool that is 36' round (yes, I said 36' round—massive!). it's We used the pool's automatic vacuum, which was useless. Next, we purchased the tiny, yellow insect vacuum. Super adorable; worked for a short time; never again. Made our own; it worked alright using PVC pipe. I decided I had nothing to lose, so I bought it.I was startled by how little it was when it arrived. It was a toy's size, shape, and feel. Read the directions and charge it for at least four hours as instructed. Because it IS little, another reviewer suggested that he prepare an area with the hose nearby so he could clean it out frequently. I took his advise and did just that.This tiny device performs miracles! It cleans everything and has surprisingly strong suction. I've created a way since I initially used it because the pool is so big. I use a brush to thoroughly stir up everything in the pool before making circles in it to collect all the garbage. I use the net to sweep up anything big, and the catfish beautifully completes the task. Since I established a routine, the entire pool is cleaned in between 30 and 45 minutes. The first time I used it, I did run the battery down because I was simply testing and playing with it.A mesh bag that is provided with the Catfish must always be used to catch your muck, so keep that in mind. Two additional, finer bags are included in the box for the tiny items. They do their job, but they are thick and make it impossible to attach the vacuum head once it is in place. Don't bother with these. Use inexpensive knee-high women's hosiery. They are significantly thinner and do a terrific job. Purchase additional silicone lube and apply it to the rubber seal before EVERY usage (you'll see what I mean after you receive one). Make sure to ALWAYS turn the Catfish on BEFORE placing it in the water and off WHEN you remove it. Leave the catfish inside at all costs. When you're through, dry it off and store it somewhere indoors that is not in the sun or even in an outside cabinet. Ours is brought into the home. Unplug it after charging until the light turns green. Avoid leaving it plugged in for too long because doing so will cause the battery to overcharge and die.In conclusion? Despite its diminutive size and toy-like appearance, this device performs its intended function admirably. incredibly impressed

Get one—it really does work! I almost didn't buy it after reading some of the product reviews, but I'm glad I did. I figured I had nothing to lose because Amazon has a great return policy. Remember that it's a hand vacuum and that it won't remove chrome from a trailer hitch, as one reviewer has previously stated; nevertheless, if you require that level of suction, you may spend hundreds of dollars more on a larger pool vacuum. This small device quickly and effectively cleaned the bottom of our hot tub by sucking up the fine particles. It does require a few handle pumps, but it still accomplishes the task. It can reach anyplace in the seats or bottom of our full-size tub because of its length. Assembly took only a minute for me to complete without consulting the accompanying directions, but I'm highly mechanically inclined, so your mileage may vary. Another reviewer said that it was transported in the retail box and was damaged in transit; however, ours was shipped inside a second Amazon box with bubble padding, and it arrived unharmed.
